At the orlando airport around 1 pm on December 17? Is that a good time to checkin and stuff and will we still be able to do anything besides hang out at pop century the first day?

mojophone...
You have plenty of options when checking in at that time. If your room is ready early, you can start unpacking and get set up. We have had different plans for our arrival day for each of our trips. Sometimes we hang out at the resort, sometimes we go to the parks, sometimes we head straight to Downtown Disney, sometimes we eat at a different resort (think Chef Mickey's, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Ohana's, ESPN, Spoodles, etc....).

Check in is officially at 3 pm.

What all do you get when you check in????

Hi Mrs Prince,

I am not sure if you are looking for something in particular, but at check in you should receive
  • a packet/folder of information that includes a resort map, park maps, a resort information sheet
  • your room keys - these *can* have your park tickets on them (we purchase our tickets seperately before arriving in WDW)
  • a paper for the windshield of your car, if you drove to the resort
Hope that helps.

Thank you! My kids were driving me nuts about what they would look like!

:cool1: :Pinkbounc

LOL! Now they can start thinking about what color lid they want. ;) My ds went for orange on the 'stout' body style. DD went for the red one with the car cup style. This could actually save you some time, if your children are like mine! :thumbsup2

PS: is that a westie puppy as your avator? SO cute! We have a 4 yr old Westie.

They have already called dibs on Lid color!!! Yes, I am raising obsessive planners... just like me!

That is our westie, Coconut, when he was a pup! He's about 17 months old now, it's probably time to update the picture... LOL

There is an alarm clock but it's more fun (and effective, in my opinion) to use the wake-up call option. It's totally automated and very easy to set.

I agree with Groucho! Use the phone system to set your own wake-up call. Be sure to answer it by pushing the speaker phone button, then everyone in the room can hear who is calling you! It could be :stitch: or :mickeyjum !

Good idea to use the speaker phone when answering.. I had a heck of a time trying to get my DD8 up to answer the phone so she could hear them..

Hello,
The rooms at the Pop Century have alarm clocks and they also offer wake-up calls. Hope this helps!!

After pouring over Pop maps, it looks like either 50s or 70s would be a good location. I think I've narrowed down my prime location choice to the building with the Big Wheel.

I'd like to be as close to Everything Pop and the buses as possible w/o paying for the 60s section, and I don't need to be smack in front of a pool. Is the Big Wheels building a good fit for me? Is there a better fit? Have you ever stayed there? Is it somewhat close to the laundry facility?

Thanks!

Kelly: The Hot Wheels building would be a great choice. It is very convenient to the buses and to Classic Hall. I have stayed on the 4th floor lakeview (6458) of the Mickey Telephone Building and a 1st floor courtyard view (0114) in the Hot Wheels building near the statue of Mr & Mrs Potato Head. I found the first floor courtyard view to be the best ... quiet and not that much traffic but no stairs to climb or elevators to wait for!!

The laundry facilties are located close to the pools. The best one for you might be behind Classic Hall near the Hippy Dippy Pool in the '60's section. I haven't used them so I'm not sure how crowded that station would be. Another station would be at the far end of the 90's beyond the computer pool.

Hope that helps! Love the Pop!!!

Thanks, Gorshgoofy! It sounds like the Big Wheels Building will be a good location. :goodvibes
