Using the map from the first page (hope that's okay Tyler!) ...

SRUAlmn is correct. Instead of heading towards Classic Hall and going through the building to get to the bus stop (as people from the 50s and 60s would typically do), the 'backway' is approaching the bus stops from the direction of the 90s parking lot. It just saves you a lot of steps when trying to get to the buses. I hope that makes sense!

so, if you're in a 50's building, what's the best way to the buses? Is the bus stop marked on your map? Thanks!

If you are in the 50s buildings, I would follow the path (going from right to left) that is just above the Class Hall, enter the Class Hall, exit from the front and turn right (which is to the left as you look at the map). You can see the 3 little bus icons on the map. I believe there are actually 5 different bus stops though.... thinking.... one for MK, AK/TL, MGM, EPCOT, DD/BB I think that's correct. :)

Let me know if that isn't clear.

Does anyone know the numbers of the 2 bed accessible rooms at pop?

I'm taking a party of 20 in september and require these rooms for 2 families with disabilities.

We leave for POP on the 13th!!! I booked POP back in December in hopes of saving a few $$....it was somewhat of a last minute splurge idea for us to do this but we are all really excited! ANYWAY, i'm so glade to have found this site....although we were there off site for our honeymoone 10 years ago, traveling with 2 kids this time is a whole different ballpark!! My therory on the Value resorts is 1) how bad could it be with Disney's name on it and 2) we basically just need a place to sleep and relax between parks! I do have a couple of questions.

1. is there internet service in the rooms? Wireless or dial up?

2. is milk and juice included in the refillable mug purchase?

3. how do you think the crowds will be in mid-feb??

4. can i mail some snacks to the resort ahead of time? (should probably do it monday!)

5. any other advice for this disney novice family?

THANKS!!!

1. When we were there in December 2005, it was dial-up only.

2. No, milk and juice are not included in the refillable mug beverages.

3. Sorry - I've never been during this time. Maybe try a search of the boards.

4. Yes. See allearsnet.com for the Pop's address.

5. You and especially your kids will really love Pop. I was worried about staying in a value hotel, but the rooms are as nice or nicer than any of the "regular" hotels we've stayed in. Plus, the outside theming is better than most places we've been. Have a great trip!

I'm pretty sure I remember being able to get apple juice in our mugs last September. It was dispensed from the same machine as the soda.

Yes, apple juice is included. :)

Hi! I love this board, and am going to Pop for my first time on Feb. 13. Will there be blowdryers in the rooms? I read somewhere that they were adding them, but I don't know whether they're in all the rooms. Thanks!

Jan

I am going Sept 6th-13th. We have requested preferred view rooms that are connecting. Any ideas as to where we might end up? Will we be able to see any fireworks? How are the crowds then?

Hello all,

We stayed at Pop last July and had a great time. We received lots of good information from this thread. Thanks to all who visit here to help.

If anyone would like to see pictures of Pop, I have a number posted in my galleries. http://www.shutterbook.com/albums/declansdad. If you use the slideshow option there is music to accompany the pictures.

The last day is all pictures from around the resort.

Thoroughly enjoyed your pictures Declansdad. Thanks for sharing!!! Can't wait til June when we'll be there. :)

Glad you enjoyed them. You will have great time at Pop.

bbutters: Regarding dial-up internet, be aware that there's a 75-cent charge for all calls, including local... somehow even with all the other money I don't mind spending, I freeze up a little at 75c so I never bothered dialing in on our visit. :)

wdwjan: I'm pretty sure we had a blowdryer in our room. Since I have rather less hair than I used to, I didn't pay much attention, but I do remember it being there on the wall.

Pop was quite nice but man, it seemed like a looong walk to get to our room in the 80s building. Don't overlook eating at Everything Pop, there's some good unique food there. ("Mom's Night Out"!)

I second that! One night the Mom's Night Out special was Turkey dinner, so I thought I'd try it. On my way to check out several people stopped me to say "Where did you get THAT?" It was quite tasty also. Nice change from chicken fingers and burgers. We also really enjoyed the parmesan chicken with either salad or pasta (both are good) and the nachos. Be sure to ask if you want something left off, or have a question about what you can combine. They were very accomodating with sauce on the side, plain noodles or substituting most of the time. :)
