We recently stayed at Pop for the first time. Here are my thoughts:
There were always lines at the front desk and lobby concierge, but they seemed to move pretty quickly and all the CMs I encountered were friendly.
We requested as close as possible to Classic Hall (didn't have a preferred location booked)...we were put in the 80's, building 7, on the back side facing the lake, about as far from Classic Hall as you can get and still be in the Pop Century resort. We were on the 2nd floor, about halfway between the stairs and elevator. I swear someone pushed my room several yards further away every time I left...I can't prove it, but my feet were telling me that was the case.
Everything in the room was in excellent condition. We had no air conditioning issues. It stayed cold while we were out, and it stayed cold all night. I thought there was plenty of room and couldn't really tell a difference between the size of the room here and at POR where I stayed in June. At first I thought the beds were really hard, but then I slept great! The pillows were perfect, IMO, fluffy and soft. We could hear the neighbors through the bathroom walls, but it wasn't bad...no worse than any other hotel room at any rate...and it didn't bother us at all.
Housekeeping was excellent. (As someone else mentioned, they start early, so if you're planning to sleep in put out the do not disturb sign.) I thought they were great. On the days we hit the parks early we came back for a mid-day break and our room was fresh and clean. On the days we slept in we put our sign on the door and they cleaned our room after we left. We didn't get any towel animals, but we did get an abundance of clean towels daily.
We thought just about everything we tried from the food court was good. The Mom's Specials...fried chicken, and roast turkey...were really good. The parmesan chicken was also pretty good. The sloppy joe is huge, as is the chili dog. The pizza was just okay, as was the cheeseburger. The breakfast pizza was yummy though. The carrot cake was heavenly, the chocolate cake good. There were always icees available for the refillable mugs when we were there...Coke and Blue Raspberry...yum!
As for the buses...well, I wasn't happy with them really, but I also think they do the best they can. There seemed to be plenty of buses running, we never waited more than 15 minutes, but they were always packed and standing room only, even though the parks weren't all that crowded. (For reference, I've stayed at AKL, WL and POR and have never stood as much as I did at Pop...and the POR trip was in June.) I guess it's just such a huge resort...

Also, the Pop bus stop is the furthest resort bus stop...everywhere. At MK we even walked past two empty, unused stops to get to ours, LOL.
The theming is really great. There's so much to see, and great music playing everywhere. We didn't use the pools, but there always were people in them, so they must have been okay. The Goofy pop jet area was really cute! There were always some little ones playing there.
Would I stay here again? I don't know, probably not. My biggest issue was all the walking and the buses. I don't like to drive on vacation, so the buses are a big deal to me. I also felt that everything was just too spread out. I thought POR was spread out, but I don't feel I walked nearly as much there as I did at Pop and I would return to POR in a heartbeat. I'm not sure how spread out the other values are or what the bus situation is like at them, but I think if I were going to do another value stay I'd check one of them out.
If anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to answer them if I can!
