We stayed in the 70s building, 3rd floor, in back by the 8-track tape. It was so quiet and close to everything but the parking lot. We never heard our neighbors, so maybe we were the noisy ones! I have never stayed anywhere else, so the deluxes must really be something.

Got a question, last time we were at POP was OCT 04, we had a early check-in and room was ready (stayed in the 50 building by the jukebox), this time we will be landing at 5:30 so hoping to be checking in by 6:30 (in 10 days   ).

question: does anybody fax room request anymore and if you do what is the fax number.

Thanks
Brooke :flower:

I could be wrong, but I thought I had read they no longer take faxed in requests because they were being overwhelmed with them. When my TA booked for me I had all my requests on the reservation.

The fax number is: 407-938-4040.

I haven't heard that they DON'T take them, but I have heard that in lots of cases the CM gets the request off the machine and it goes into the garbage. I haven't decided yet if we'll do it, but there's the number for you :)

I've been told to just make sure your request is listed on your reservation (call CRO or WDW travel) and then ask when you get there.... good luck!

Okay...I need some advice from all you POP vetrans!

We were planning on ASMo..I've done tons of research and had my preferences down (building 1, pongo...courtyard view...wing closest to lobby....I KNOW its a long shot but it helps to know what you're ideal location is).

We booked with the NEW discount offer and there wasn't any ASMo available so I took POP.

I have two kids: an almost nine year old girl that loves all things disney and a six year old boy that bounces off the walls. I would like a building thats not too noisy at night and near the bus stops. I was thinking one of the 70s buildings b/c its near the playground. Recommendations?

Has anyone been in December? Did you make use of the pools? Are the pop jets on in Dec?

The layout of POP looks largely spread out and confusing! Reassure me that its more condensed than it looks on a map.

This will be our first family trip to WDW in over four years, our first ever Christmas and our FIRST time in a Disney owned resort. :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Has anyone taken their Pal Mickey to POP? I read that he responds to resorts in addition to the theme parks and I'm just curious what types of things he would say at POP.

Also, I've seen alot of pics of the food from the food court at POP. It all looks delish. Any one item there that was so good that you're hankering for a repeat?

We just returned from POP. Stayed in the 70's building (Mickey phone) and really liked it. It was very quiet and close to everything. Pal Mickey did not say anything at the resorts. I don't think you'll find that POP is confusing once you get there. I liked it better than Coronado Springs. I stayed at CS in 12/03 and most days it was too cold to swim. The pools were open, but no one was using them. Hope this answers all your questions.

Definitely the Mom's Night Out Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Got it on a whim my last stay and it was delicious! You can't wrong with the Twinkie Tiramisu either.

70s section is great. Close to Everything POP, you can take the back pathway to the busses to get there faster, close to the POP jets, twister games are in this section, and you're halfway between the hippy dippy and computer pools.

Food wise, we really loved the burgers and fries at POP. I saw the picture someone posted on the food picture thread of this, and it made me want to go back. Another thing we really liked was the make your own sundae. We made the same one over and over and it was soooooo good. I don't remember the cost because we used meal vouchers, but they let you pick 3 flavors of ice cream and any toppings that you want. It was yummy :) Can you tell we eat like little kids :rotfl:

They might have gotten rid of the sundae, because I never saw that the entire time we were at Pop. And I LOVE ice cream. LOL
I'll have to look again the next time I go.

To the other poster:
Pop is MUCH smaller than it looks on the map. Very accessible.
In the food court I loved the parmesan crusted chicken. It came with pasta or salad, and you could have alfredo or red sauce on it or not. I left the ckn plain and dipped it in ranch dressing. YUM! My dh ate cheeseburgers at almost every meal. So they must be pretty good.

It wasn't an actual do it yourself type of thing. If you are standing by the cash registers and facing the food area, it was the station closest to the front on your left. You walked up with your tray and picked your 3 flavors, and then told them which toppings you'd like and they made it for you. Anyone know if it was still there recently?

Another ? about the ice cream sundaes, how much do they cost?
Just booked my ADRs today. Boy, am I excited!!!!!!

I was there last Dec and they were there! Are they gone ??? if soooo WAAAA!! They were about 3.50 I think.

They were there in Aug, but we didn't have any. We were all soooooo stuffed due to the dining plan there wan't any room for icecream when we got back to the room. No wait, my DS 9 had a bowl of chocolate one night, it was delicious.

Question on the Moms night out special:

Is it meant to feed multiple people....if so how many? And do you get your choice of sides? Does it come with biscuits or anything?

Thanks!

Just looked up my dining report. It was $3.99 in September of '04. It's really good ice cream. I can't remember, Edy's maybe????

No, its a single serving meal served in a fake tv dinner tray. It is a good size portion though, you could share. I had the turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans, and it was to come with a biscuit, but they were not done yet, so they asked if I wanted a breadstick, which I took as they were pretty good. Mmmm. Not sure if you could substitute a side...doesn't hurt to ask. They seem pretty flexible all in all.
It was hysterical, as everywhere I walked in the food court people were coming up to me saying "Where did you get that?!?" It did look and taste pretty good.

Ok, I have a logistical question for those who have been to POP. We are going the week of xmas & are going to request the 60's building, but the very back (along the lake). How far of a walk is it really? It's so hard to tell on the maps & I read varying reports of how big the resort is - some say "it's not that bad" while others say "it's a 15 minute walk". :confused3 So any guidance you POP veterans could give I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

We've stayed in the 60's buildings twice. No, it is not a 15 minute walk to the Food Court by any stretch of the imagination. :flower:

You will have a great time. Wish it were me. We're not going back until May.

The 60's buildings back along the lake would be an ideal location I think. Not at all far and a little quieter than being right by the pool. You'll love it!
