Getting three non-smoking rooms together on the ground floor of a preferred building... that's going to be hard. VERY hard.

There could be a chance that one of the rooms might be near by (ie, a few doors down)...

Your answer made me think of another question. Is there any certain day of the week that is more popular for check-in or out? We will be arriving @ Pop on April 25th which happens to be a Monday between 11:00-11:30 am. I am wondering if our chances are better on a Monday morning or worse or no difference?

HI
I am new to this forum and I think it is great. I was hesitant about staying at Pop but after reading everybodys responses I am not scared. At some other boards some people thought I was crazy for not staying at all star movies. My DD will be 5 and DS will be 18 months. WE are not going until FEb. of 2006 but I am already excited. This will be our first big family vacation. :cool1:
We will be traveling with a stroller and I am wondering if it is a pain being on a high floor with a stroller. I like the idea of being able to see the lake and maybe even the fireworks. We will be using the Hippy Dippy pool because DD wants to go swimming in a flower. WE are from Colorado so I am not worried about it being to cold for swimming. Does anybody have a reccomondation for which building would be best. I am leaning towards 50's or 70's. I know the trip is aways out but I am excited.
Thanks for the help

I have been told that all the pools in WDW are heated to 82 F, so I'm sure swimming won't be a problem. We were at All star movies just before Christmas and swam a few times. I'm sure your daughter will love the hippy dippy pool. I have only seen pictures of it (so far) but it looks great. :flower:

We stayed in the 50's building right next to the lake in Oct. At the end of the day or just having to go up to the main building to get something was a pain. Also the ice machine in our building was broke the whole trip and had to keep going to another building to get ice. This trip I have requested the 60's building.

Sunday is the big check out day. By Monday... eh... it's hard to say. It's luck of the draw, really. Just make sure to re-iterate preferences and reasons upon checkin, and be prepared that the room might not be available right away.

All buildings have two large elevators.

Just so you know, there are ice machines on every floor. I remember when I was in that very same building during Hurricane Jeanne, our ice machine ran out of ice, because everyone was filling up thier coolers at the same time. I had to go to two different floors before I found ice. Not the fault of the resort or the machine, it just happened that everyone around property needed ice at the same moment.

Colorado Springs here. If you are a Disney Newbie I have some specific info for you coming from the high mountain desert.

PM me, IM me, or send me an email.

Can someone tell me about the arcade? How big is it? What kind of games do they have? I'm thinking of bringing a couple of rolls of quarters for my sons as a surprise to use in the arcade.

Just booked another stay at POP for April :flower: Had decided to stay at CBR, but it was not available so thought we'd try POR...finally decided to return to POP. I know folks love POR and it is lovely! But I've always had a lake view at POP and it's very nice as well. No, not like the grounds at POR, but it cannot be beat for the price with a code! Traveling with an 11 & 12 yr old and they asked requested a Lake View rather than pool view, so I'll be looking at the lake again every morning!

Was tempted to book a preferred room just to see Palm Trees for a change :)

We'll be there April 17- April 21. Anyone other DISers at POP then?

Be sure to say :wave2:

It's actually pretty big- I was surprised. I tried to find a picture that I took, but all I can find is the video footage. I expected it to be just a few machines, and maybe an air hockey table or something, but it was fairly large and had a wide variety of games as well as a place to 'buy' things with your tickets. Depending on how old your boys are, I think they'll love it. My 25 yr old BF loved it! :)

I made our reservations Friday for our mini-vacation (checking in 3/4, out 3/6). I got the $74 rate with code BEW. Is this the best rate out there for peak season? We usually go in the fall and get a $49 rate. Not used to paying this much for a value resort.

I know check in time is 3pm, but should we try to get there earlier to get a good room? I was thinking about taking DS out of school early so we can get up there sooner.

Also, I was looking at some pictures of the Hippy Dippy pool. Are those Crazy Daisies squirting water into the pool? They look so cute. I can't wait to go. Hope it's warm enough to swim while we're there.

If you just booked on Friday, how did you get the discount code? I thought it was expired. We were going to take a quick trip down at the end of March from our Charleston vacation and were disappointed that the code had expired. Are they still letting people reserve with it? Thanks :)

Hi!

Zandy595 ~ is it possible you got the code letters off? I used an email code which has very similar letters - only one different. This code is good until July 4th with no time limit to book.

March is peak season that's why the rate is higher - it is still a good rate compared to what the rack would be for the same dates :)

Karen ~ have you called to check if there is a code in your household profile? I found out that anyone listed in that hosuehold can use the code even if it went to someone esle's name and address - as long as your name is listed in the same household profile. Worth checking!

No, I haven't! That's really cool. Do I just call and ask if there is a code attached to our account? When it asks you to press 1 for a new ressie, press 2 for an existing ressie, etc... which do I press? I'm the one who has always made our reservations, so it would probably be in my name. That's cool, but I won't get my hopes up :)

Yes, they squirt water! :)

All pools are heated to 82 degrees during cooler weather, so they will always be swimable. :)

Hi, Karen!

I found out when I called to make a new reservation. I also found out they have a BUNCH of profiles in my name, but only one has the code attached. You might ask them to check to see if you have more than one profile - sometimes CM's build a new one rather than looking for an existing one.

Every time you visit they list anyone who travels with you as your "household". When I call, if they have the correct porfile they will ask me who in the household is traveling with me. Have to be careful because hey have gotten too many adults in my res when only 2 would be traveling.

So, even if the postcard was sent to someone else as long as they are in your profile as your household then you can use the code. This came from Guest Services, not the CM at CRO, so it's not just another opinion! (I hope!)

Good luck!!
