If I wanted to be in that same building, but not across from the pool, how would I word my request?

Preferred room, 60s building, NOT opposite a pool?

Since you are booking a preferred room anyways, you don't need to mention preferred in your request. "60s building, not poolside" would be okay. Thats the same as my request for my Nov trip.

Anyone know if the frozen cokes are a part of the refillable mug selection? And are they only seasonal (we're going in November). This is probably my biggest vice (yeah, I'm boring).....so I'm not sure if I should be hoping I can use my mug and have frozen coke every day....of if I should be praying that it's only seasonal and/or not mug selection.....so that I won't even be tempted to pay for one!

I'm not sure if there sesonal, but they were often done for service. We think that was just waiting for them to refreeze. They were very popular!

Great, thank you! :goodvibes

Just got back from a week stay and I was extremly disappointed with Mousekeeping. The room hardly got cleaned and there was trash behind the bed side table [a lot of it!] from who knows when! There was also this huge sticky gross spot under the sink that could have been cleaned. Also we had 2 beds when we only needed one. I called to find out why we had two [I was under the impression we would have only 1] and they told us we couldn't have 1 bed and they only had those for handicapped people. That's a bit silly to me, why waste a bed on people who aren't going to be using it?

Anyway, we weren't really there enough for it to matter too much.

I was surprised by your experience with requesting a king bed and being told that they were only for handicapped people. The last 2 times I've been to WDW we requested a king bed and got it both times. Of course, we go in January so there might be fewer handicapped requests. However, I would think that the proper response from CM's at the front desk would be "those rooms are unavailable" rather than "you can't have one because you aren't handicapped". Frankly I'd rather have a king than try to fit both of us on a standard double. I always make a king bed my first priority in requesting a room. Hope you have better luck with that next time.

Hi guys! I'm not staying at Pop on this trip, but I'm considering booking bounceback there for next year.

I wanted to answer that bedrail question if I may, and then ask one of my own.

I have bedrails for our upcoming trip, and there is no additional charge, much like if you were to get a pack and play for your child.

Okay, here's my question. I've looked at the resort map. I know we'll be booking a preferred room, because one member of our travel party needs to be in close proximity to things (trouble walking distances and uses an ECV at the parks). We did stay in the 60s building last year, and we were just a few doors down from the Playdoh on the fourth floor. Although that was a fun place to be, and very convenient, it was also very noisy, because we were directly across from the Hippy Dippy Pool.

If I wanted to be in that same building, but not across from the pool, how would I word my request?

Just curious what the best way is to go about that. And if you have any suggestions as to other locations that would be better, feel free. I know there's some preferred in 50s and 70s as well, so I'd love your opinions. :goodvibes
We had preferred rooms at Pop in 2007 and were in thr Playdoh Bldg 4th floor NOT poolside! It was VERY quiet !!

wE REQUESTED A CONNECTING 1 DBL/DBL and 1 King but couldn't get the King they told us that they were given to handicapped first as they had the handicapped showers . They didn't say you had to be handicapped to have one only that handicapped got first choice which is only fair!!

Yeah it is only fair but it wasn't really all that busy and I would have liked if the lady wasn't so rude. We both had a hard time fitting in the bed [neither one of us sleep well without the other. In fact if he works late I can't sleep without him here so I get less sleep than I should sometimes]. I guess we could have requested to have just 1 bed but I'm almost 100% sure that I saw somewhere on the info we got that we'd have just one. Oh well, now we know! Although, I'm not sure if we'll choose to stay at Pop again.

Ah, that is fair and makes sense. It's another reason that I like to go in the off season!

We requested a King size bed with a note saying Handicap Room was Ok....Ive read this is the way to go about if your in NEED of a king room. Still nothing is a sure thing.

It appears that people are posting that the only king bed rooms are handicapped with handicapped showers, but this is not correct is it? Can someone please confirm that there are king sized bed rooms with bathtubs?

Sorry the CM did say there were some that weren't handicapped ones but none were available as they are popular!!
Is anyone going to Pop in May 09. I have both a May 09 thtread and a PTR on the PTR board !!

Just a couple thoughts on what I've read in the last few pages...

On my Pop Labor Day weekend trip this year, the pillows in my room were just fine. Maybe even a little too "fluffy" for me, as I am used to sleeping with a very squishy feather pillow at home.

Mousekeeping was great. No problems.

When we went to Pop in May, we were lucky enough to get one of the king rooms that has a normal bathroom, as I had requested a king room with a bathtub. When we checked in, the CM told me that the room was handicapped accessible, but that it did not have a roll-in shower. So maybe Pop does consider all their king rooms handicapped accessible?

Anyhow...just adding my two cents!

Most people only get a king room if they request it. And even then it's not guarenteed. Not all are handicapped though.

We were at Pop last month and actually had great pillows we were in 60's by the water jets. I was wondering if anyone else ever got the wake up calls? I requested one every day and was very disappointed. No Character's voices only a few bars of music and then nothing. In years past I've had Mickey, or Stich tell me to wake up and start my day. I even asked at the desk if this was a new policy and they didn't know. The next morning I actually got a whole line of music but still no voices... I missed them telling me get ready for a great time...

I have read on the boards that they no longer are doing the mickey wake up but something from Highschool musical or hannah Montana

I'm staying at POP in Oct. I'll be flying Southwest, but I won't have my laptop with me to check in for my return flight home. Will they check me in and print my boarding pass somewhere at the resort?

Yes the concierge desk will do it

:thumbsup2 I'm glad to read this!! We check in on Monday the 15th and I'm so excited to go!! :cool1:

Did your mousekeeper do any decorating in your room with towels or in the window? Just curious.

I think it all depends on who your mousekeeper is. Also remember that free dining is going on right now, so the resorts are busier and that makes less time for them to be in you room doing some of the extras like towel animals. But it should stil lbe cleaned correctly.

did anyone else get a PIN for free dining for this Oct. I jsut got one the other day. It starts the last few days of Sept and goes to Oct 14. Boy I wish we could go, but this time of year is not good for us. But free dining would be such a savings, and I always wanted to go in Oct.

Pop will not guarentee any rooms (unless you are handicapped) at all. So your papers couldn't have said it. They could've had a request for a king if you made one. But no requests are guarenteed there.(with a few exceptions)
And if you were there while free dining was going on then it was most likely pretty full. Plus I think Pin's were givien out earlier in the year for this time as well. So most of those king rooms were probably filled fast.

It actually wasn't that full. I was there, I would know.
