Yeah! Me too POP is our Favorite Hotel too! Our family did stay in POP last Year and we love it!

We have requested a refrig for medical reason at POP is it large enough to put several items in? Both wife and Daughter are on meds that need to be kept cool.

If we go for one that we pay for is it larger, or are they both dorm sized refrigerator?:dance3:

I wish someone could post a pic of the free medical necessity fridge. I have meds I have to keep room temperature. The only problem is when I am out and about in the park, they will get warm. So I intend to get one so I can freeze some of those freeze packs and keep the meds cool that way. At leaset they said that that fridge had a freezer portion.

I will request a fridge while check-in!in POP! Oh! Everything Pop is a shop and dining with the same name?:mickeyjum

I haven't read this thread in a long time - Great job on the new information on post #1 - Really good and organized information :)

Thank you for adding so much detail to this thread... I was looking for the fee for the internet in the room and POOF :wizard: there it was - just what I was looking for... Goodness, the DIS is always soooooooooo helpful! :grouphug: to all...

Thank you, and you are welcome! I'm SOOOOO glad you've found it so helpful! The content is a contribution from a multitude of people and sources, including many DISers who keep up with the thread. Like you, I wanted to find Pop info all in one place and not wait for answers or spend literally days reading posts. So putting all my notes in one place was a no brainer! If I had the need, no doubt others did/do as well!!

I'm always watching to see what new obscure detail that can be added, so keep the fresh questions and current details coming! :thumbsup2

Hi all
I just wanted to say hi and thank all of you for this great post.
My family and I just came home from our first family trip to wdw 2 weeks ago,we stayed offsite at Bonnet Creek and it was great. I have been to Disney myself over 16 times but never stayed onsite.

so long story short,we live in NY,and had a weekend planned to sesame place, etc and I thought about it long and hard, the money for the hotel, tix, food, etc that we were going to spend at a wannabe WDW,lol -was going to be the equivalent cost of airfare to florida,so I spoke with hubby, cancelled our Sesame trip and booked another trip to WDW for xmas week,OMG,and we are staying onsite at POP,woo hoooo

I am nervous, because after having all that space with hubbya nd the 2 kids and now going to pop will be an adjustment, but we will be ONSITE and at WDW for xmas and my daughters 3rd bday,so what could be better!!!:wizard:

I look forward to getting to know all of you better and hopefully not getting anyone mad with my questions,I promise I will try and read all of page 1 before I ask anything, lol

once again, thanks for all the info here

Re: Frig for med

Both times we requested a medical frig we go a cube style dorm size frig. We were there in Aug. and Sept. I don't know if this is typical, or if we were lucky.
We could keep bottles of pop and water in it in addition to my kids' med.

I have heard both , but the majority seem to get a dorm sized one!

It is better to have the request in your reservation. Some have, and still don't get one when they arrive, so better not to chance it.

DH and I just decided that we would do a short trip to WDW for our 5th anniversary! We looked into other places (like Cedar Point, Six Flags, etc) and WDW is a much better value (plus, i'll get my Disney fix!!) So, we'll be staying at Pop June 13-16!!:cool1: This will also be our first vacation without DS (3), so I'm a little nervous, but so excited to be back at Pop! If anyone wants me to check anything out or take pics, just let me know!

We spent Christmas 2007 @Pop. We had three rooms (DH, DS 10yo & myself in one room; my parents in another and my brother and sister-in-law in the other...two of the rooms connected.) We drove so I was able to bring decorations (tree, lights for the windows, etc) stockings, presents even homemade cookies to leave for Santa! We were there December 16-29. It was great! But it was crowded in the food court and parks....I subscribed to TourGuideMike and followed his suggestions and the advice (over the door shoe organizer to organize tolietries, ect) from all the wonderful, knowledgable people on this board....plan, plan, plan and plan some more! Get all your ADRs ASAP (we did the Candlelight Processional on Christmas Eve/dinner @Biergarten!) Good Luck! Have fun! :santa:

I recieved a dorm size fridge for my DD's medicine. I did call as soon as knew she would need it (only a couple of days before the trip) and it was noted on my reservation.

The fridge did NOT have a freezer. I brought my ice pack to luggage services and asked them to put it in their freezer the day before I checked out so that I would have an ice pack for the flight home. They also had a fridge for the meds while went to the parks after check out on the last day.

For those of you that need a fridge with a freezer, you should check out the fridge swaps on the budget board. Most of them have freezers and they are also free as are they for med. reasons.

I have a quick question--If I want to request a certain building, do I do that before I get down there?
I have already made reservations for 11/30-12/8 through AAA, but am not sure when to request a certain building. TIA!

I'd recommend doing it before you get down there. My TA has done this for me for all of my POP stays (I reuqested the Mickey phone building in the 70's section). Be sure to reiterate your request to the CM checking you in. :thumbsup2

Defiantely have it put in your reservation. And if you REALLY want a certain floor, area, location, then fax about 4 or 5 days before hand wit htyour request as well. I have a sample of my fax in this thread somewhere. I think it would've been posted back in Feb, as we left the begiing in of March. We got EXACTLY what I asked for!

YOu won't be sorry that you cancelled Sesame Place for Disney at all! I live just a few miles from there. We do have season passes because it pays for us after going a few times. It is not even close to Disney, so I think you'd be disappointed. The guests can be really rude at times (never ever go on a weekend) and the park is mainly run by high school and college kids. Enjoy your trip...you'll love Pop! See if our fridge swap is open for your dates...it's free! Click on the link in my signature:)
