We just got back from a 7 day stay at POP. Our first time to Disney. We loved it. We stayed in the sixities section facing the hippy dippy pool on the second floor, room 4207. No problem with noise from pool. Loved the resort and the food court. We used the bus transportation and never had a wait longer than 10 minutes. The only thing I did not like was how far the bus stops were from the park. After walking the park all day then getting back to the bus stop seemed like forever LOL. Mousekeeping left us towels animals and arranged our girls stuffed animals around the room. We would definitely stay at POP again.

Thanks to those who replied about when to make building requests! I will call my AAA agent in the next few days!
Ok-another question: I want to get in a building that is not too far to the bus stop. I don't care about the food court or the pool as much. I just don't want to walk a really long ways at the end of the day. Thanks again!

Looking at my Pop map th closestn to buses is the 70's the Big Wheel bldg.I think it's bldg 10 as the #'s are o***!also 80's bldg 9.Hope this helps!!

A question about the flushing/shower noise. Is it any less noticable on the 4th floor? I'm just thinking that perhaps you get the double whammy on the lower floors. You hear it from the neighbors as well as the rooms above.

I still have not made my room request......only 37 days until we leave:cool1:

I have wanted to stay at Pop for many years, and it looks like I'll finally get my chance in just 3 weeks. I think my 8-year-old will love it!

Overhead view of the 50s section with room numbers:

I've combined the room number map from http://www.haysllc.com/Disneyworld/PopCenturyRoomLayout.jpg, preferred rooms (in yellow), and an overhead map from an Orlando Interactive mapping site. Hopefully, it will help DISers with room questions.

Do you have one of the 70's bld yet?

thanks

I have heard that if you keep your bathroom door shut, it cuts down on the noise greatly. I never noticed much of a problem last time we stayed at Pop.

We are going to Pop Sept 14-20th, and don't really care about the toilets flushing...sometimes at home you hear it anyways! Turn on the tv or radio and drown out some of that extra noise...works wonders! I know I work nights and it is amazing what a radio and/or a fan can block out.
Looking forward to our trip, we have a box started for things we are buying to take with us, ie poncho's, sunscreen, new disney flip flops for dtr, etc...the countdown is on the calendar now! woo hoo!

Is classic concotions just the bar area, or does that include the place that had the cookies and sandwiches and ice cream?

I think it's just the bar. Though I never did ice cream before, cuase I couldn't figure out where/when it was served. Someone wil lahve to update us. I never did see Classic Connections open though.

Just wondering since I didn't see this mentioned in the (most excellent) first post:

Do the tubs have those retractable clothelines in them?

Thanks, and guess what....

Bring clothes pins to hang up wet swimsuits on the retractable clothes line in the shower, to help keep curtains closed, or to hang a mouse by his ear in your window

It is hidden in there! :rotfl:

oh for....where is that bright red faced, mortified with embarassment smiley?!

Of course it was. I guess I need to read more carefully (you'd think that"clothespins" would have caught my eye?).

Thank you!

Soooo...thanks to SR and the Disney cruise they are running in October DS and I are now booked for 8 nights at Pop followed by 3 nights on the Wonder. Woohoo! I had been considering switching over to just Pop and this made our decision final for us!
