I just booked a Suprise 3 night stay for just my boys and me 5 and 8. We have always stayed at the wilderness lodge and honestly I have never seen or been to POP but I had to go Value this time to pull off a quick trip and I am excited to try something new! I have a few questions if some of you could help.

The buses...If I have breakfast at the Contemporary at 7:50 am, will I have to take a bus at 7 and go to a park to get one to Contemporary and do they run that early and will it take that long?

The food court....Disney is great dealing with my Gluten allergy at all the restraunts we love, question is about the food court at POP, we will be doing a quick breakfast there one morning do you think they will be able to accomodate? I am craving some Gluten free pancakes!!

Also...I was only able to book a standard room, perferred was not available..should i call and request a special type of room? Or location...any suggestions?

I am so excited to suprise my boys with this trip, I want to make it perfect!!

Thanks for your help!!
MG

MG,

I see you are going in April.. You may be able to get another $75 off your 3 night stay. You have to book though orbitz and the coupon expires tomorrow.

This is a great thread -- I just finished reading it all the way through, because.... I'm surprising my DS17 and DS14 with a 4-night trip to Pop on 7/31!!

After reading this thread, I am even more excited!!!!!! Thanks for all the great info and tips!!

I'm not sure about a taxi, but you can take the MK bus and take the Monorail or a bus over to the Poly from there.

:thumbsup2 My thoughts exactly!

It wouldn't be direct, and might take a but of time, however there would not be any cost associated with coming/going this route! :goodvibes

Does anyone know about how much it costs to take a taxi from Pop to the Polynesian?

I took a taxi from CR to Pop in January. It was raining and I hadn't packed our ponchos so there was no way to get to the Pop bus at MK without getting soaked and we were tired. It was $19.25 before the tip. I had paid about the same in May 06 to go from GF to Pop.

If anyone is going to be at Pop for all or pat of May 17th-27th, some june dates, july and end of year, we have a brand new 2.3cu. ft fridge and coffeepot that is available in our swap. It is bigger then the one you will pay $12/night to rent from POP.

Just post to thread or email me and it is all yours.

thanks,

I may need to take a taxi from POP to Wide World of Sports.

:confused3 Where do I get a cab? How do I know if I'll be getting a reliable company (read: not a rip off)? Any guess on the cost?

Thanks!

Front desk can help you There are usually cabs around. Front desk will tell you who to cal. It cost us about $25 for a minivan to Seaworld one way last year which wasn't to bad!!

You can send a quick email to Brenda Bennett Brenda.bennett@disney.com about the food at POP and she will can forward you question to the chefs there. We are going in 12 days with my twins who are allergic to milk. I told Brenda Bennett that we were staying at POP and the next day I got an email from two different chefs at POP. Or you could email POP with attn to the food court/ chefs. The names of the two chefs who contacted me were Kimberly Freeman and Katrina M Van Oudheusden. Very kind and very helpful !!!

Enjoy !!

Funny question I know, but I thought of bringing a jar of the mixed pb & j and we could have sandwiches as snacks or lunch a couple days. We won't have a car, so is there a cafe/shop that I can buy a loaf of bread on the property?

Thanks!

I can't swear at Pop (but I can't imagine it would be different) but I know I've seen bread and jars of pb & j at other resorts. I've heard the pb shows up funny when they scan your luggage and they might have to search your luggage if you have it in there.

When is your trip? I can check it out and the pricing when I go next month.

Hey Pop fans!

Just booked free dining this morning. I know about faxing room requests a few days prior. I did request bed rails with the ressie (DS is 3 and way too big for a pack and play) and also requested 70s, 4th floor, lakeside. That was one of the areas listed as hopefully quieter, right?

Thanks again, folks! :thumbsup2

I'm keeping track of this thread in the hopes that some rooms will still be available Thursday for free dining. I have the kids all excited about POP, but we will go with ASMu if POP is booked up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though. We have never stayed there but I think we'll have a great time,:cool1:

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Pop is awesome! :thumbsup2

This is a great thread, lots of good info here. We just decided to go in December and stay at Pop. I'm really excited. It sounds like the best choice for us. Can't wait to hear more.

26 days, people!!! WOOOOOHOOOOO! I'm ready to start packing! Still unsure what to do about the stroller. The one I wanted to buy/bring hasn't been in stock, and I'm SURELY not renting!!! POP, here we come!! :cheer2:

I shipped my package to Pop today, could i call Monday and make sure it is at the resort. I read that it takes a day or two after getting to Disney before it gets to the resort.

What I am asking is, will they go and check that it is there for me? (Before I waste a long distance call)

Jackie
