I loved how they had a line que for the buses. I was told that alot of other resorts don't and then you have the problem with people cutting. I thought some of our bus waits were a bit long at times, but most of the time things went well. Had a long wiat at AK, with at least 1/2 hour wait, and DTD, one was pulling away as I walked up and then waite 40 minutes til lthe next came. I was getting VERY impatient! LOL! But still it's not to bad, and we don't have to drive anywhere.

I agree! When we stayed at POFQ, we would always try to stand (or sit) on the side of the queue furthest from the bus if there were already people there because we didn't want them to think we were going to cut. Then as soon as a bus pulled up, people would sprint over to the queue and cut in line. I definitely like the lines at POP!

I think it is just a code. Others have asked about it too. There is no guarentee for connecting rooms though, I think UNLESS you have minors staying in the other room and no adult.

I checked into this and it looks like your guaranteed connecting rooms if you have more children than adults. ;)

Crowds and buses? Not a problem! I didn't like how they have the bus stations set up like a ride line, but we had great bus timing and although we had to stand practically every time, we never had to wait for a second bus. Even mid-day at MGM, we walked up as a bus pulled out and not 5 minutes later another one came and got us, and it was only us and this one other family. Noise and crowds were non-existant. I went to the food court each morning, never waited on a line.

What didn't you like about the bus queues? That is a big plus for me!

It seems a lot of people are pretty outspoken about this! I will say that i never realized about the whole line thing stopping cutters and for that I will say you guys are absolutely right, if i look at it that way, it is really great! I really cant say what I dislike about it, i guess it goes against the whole laid back feel i find at the other resorts, instead of waiting in a line hwich i know ill be doing in a little while at the parks, i can sit on a bench under an awning decorated to the resorts theme...? I guess to each is own, but i will agree about the line cutter thing!

I didn't mind the lines for the buses...maybe that was because we got lucky and went at a time when the line was not that big when we got to it...the only time we actually had a wait at the resort was when we were going to MK...I can't wait to be in that line again in 373 days...

I stayed at Pop over spring break. It was my first Value experience, and I went in with low expectations only because I figured crowds would be horrendous!

Pop was awesome! Would I stay there again? Definitely if I couldn't afford to go Moderate (during Spring Break, the rates at Pop were rivaling those of a moderate during normal season :rolleyes) It was a lot of fun to check out all the cool things that they have at Pop like the shadowboxes in the lobby and the giant playdoh can that was next to our room! Like I said, i still prefer moderate because we do spend a lot of time at the hotel and I appreciate the nicer pools and relaxed themes, but this is a great resort also.

I did run into an issue but I was very happy at the way it was handled. I had called the day before arriving to pay off the room and gave a credit card to even put on the room, but when I arrived the guy checking me in said it showed I had a balance left. After explaining the situation, he tried to get the managers attention behind him, but the manager paid no attention to him except to look up and mumble something. He said since they were shwoing a balance we obviously had one. I forked over my credit card hoping I wouldn't have to deal with this later on. The guy who checked us in was very good. He assigned us to the 70s but I was hoping for a 60s room since we payed preferred and I just envisioned that nice courtyard area (I know the 70s is preferred but it was worth a try to ask) so I asked him, and without hesitation he looked and found a room in the 60s at peak season during spring break! I was very happy because I've had less than stellar check in experiences and really really really really bad luck with good rooms at these resorts! In the end, 2 days after my return I got an email from Discover stating that money had been refunded by a merchant, and whaddya know? It was Disney! I don't blame anyone but the computer systems, obviously it just hadn't been posted yet.

A few things I took notice too:

1) Crowds and buses? Not a problem! I didn't like how they have the bus stations set up like a ride line, but we had great bus timing and although we had to stand practically every time, we never had to wait for a second bus. Even mid-day at MGM, we walked up as a bus pulled out and not 5 minutes later another one came and got us, and it was only us and this one other family. Noise and crowds were non-existant. I went to the food court each morning, never waited on a line.

2) Mousekeeping: When we arrived we had a really cute easter bunny towel animal and I thought for sure we were finally going to get to stay a hotel that does the towel animal thing every day! Charlie even wanted to buy a stuffed animal just to have them mess with it...good thing he didn't because it was a one time only thing and we did tip each day. Rooms were clean though so I guess thats all you can ask for.

3) Room decorations. I've never seen so many people get into their rooms at a resort! We saw several windows with Easter clings attached to the windows I thought that was so cute!

Misc: One morning at around 7:45 i walked to the food court from the room and passed the pool and I guess they were cleaning it but the smell of the bleach and chlorine gave me such a headache and it was nauseating! Nothing they could help but maybe they could start earlier? I noticed a lot of people not liking the smell

Pics coming up next post, hope I helped anyone!

Thank you for posting this. I am sure I would have done the same thing so as not to worry about it when I got there. Now I know to wait until I check in. :thanks:

I can see your point.:thumbsup2 I like the bus stop at POFQ but I did have some um..."issues" at POR.

I was curious what the poster about not liking the queue for the lines didn't like about this. I would think it would make things much easier for everyone...am I missing something? We are leaving in the morning for POP!

Have a great time! Your going to love it, I think the buses there are on top of everything. Last year we were lucky enough to get to ride the hybrid bus that they were testing. It was leaving Disney that week to be tested in Nevada. I really don't ever mind waiting on the bus, it gives me a chance to get to talk to other Disney folks!

all I have to say this morning is....POP we miss and can't wait to come back...everything about you is great....:cheer2:

We totally agree! We'll be back on June 28th. Cannot wait!!!!!

I'll edit this (several hours later) to say, I just realized this was the FAQ board, so I probably shouldn't have just posted a simple Pop plug/cheer/whatever you might call it. I just saw the previous poster's comment, and I guess my Pop love just overtook me and I had to agree.

So, before someone fusses about staying on the question and answer theme, I'll go ahead and chastise myself. Sorry - I'm just a Disney dork, and it's a whole 90 or so days away until our next trip, so I'm not thinking clearly. Forgive me.

I am new to this thread. DH and I got married @ the Poly. in 2004 and haven't been back to Disney yet! I am anxious!

In June, my parents, DD2 and I will be staying at POP (DH can't come due to work). We booked it today.

I have never stayed @ a value...always a deluxe (I interned @ Disney in 1997 and had a lot of connections to get good rates!)...I am sort of nervous about the experience, but this thread has got me excited.

Looks like everyone had a great time @ POP! I am anxious to get there!!! 3 months to go!

Anyone with any tips for me...my ears are open!

Looking for info on a fridge swap at pop, anyone know how I can find availabiltiy?

Thanks

can anyone tell me the best way to get from POP to Poly in the a.m.? want to have breakfast over there and not sure what's the best way to get there.

thanks!
(decided we HAVE to try tonga toast!

Bus to MK
then monorail to poly? (don't know how early you're trying to get there)...
Can you walk from the MK? Anyone....?

Bolo, I was wondering the same thing. We too have to try the Tonga Toast. We have never stayed at POP before so I can't help but I'm sure someone will answer us.
