I have a question
When I look at this map
http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/PopCenturyMap.pdf

or maybe the big icons are in the carved out RECTANGLES i the middle of the T of the building. The more I think about it the more I think its the later.

Correct. In the "carved out" section at the top of the "T". The round circles are used by house keeping/maintenance vehicles to haul carts of towels, sheets, supplies, etc.

Thanks :thumbsup2 >>bgula & NashvilleTrio <<< for your detailed responses!! :thanks:

We are going in November, and need a quiet location, hoping if I look at all variables, I can :scratchin :rolleyes2 I *might* be able to request a good location. ;)

The big icons face each other between two buildings - take the 60's Hippy Dippy Pool as an example. There are 2 buildings on each side of the pool. The big icons face each other and the pool. The smaller icons are at each end of a building and disguise the stairway leading to all levels of the building. The circles you are seeing lead around a garden area, which, if my memory is correct, houses some machinery and/or pipes and so is disguised.Hope this answers your question.

Hi everyone - just wanted to post that we booked our trip to Pop Century Resort for May 5-10!! This will be the first trip for both kids, and my first trip since 1977, and my husbands first trip since 1986!!

Thanks to everyone who posts their experiences and likes/dislikes - it sure made it easier to make my decision to stay at Pop Century!

Cheers!:yay:
 Congrats! I'll be there (for my 5th time) May 4-10! How exciting for you guys!!!!!

Does Pop Century have buiscuits and gravy?

Can an adult that cant swim go into the kiddie pool?
Don't know about the biscuit & gravy-they do have biscuits just not sure about the gravy.

Like someone else said the pools aren't too deep and they have a wide staircase going into the pool-perhaps you could hang out near the stairs.

Hi Pop fans! Am I correct in thinking that the 70s building would be fairly quiet since it's not sitting on top of a pool like the others are? Anyone who's stayed in the 70s, please weigh in! Plus, I think DS would get a huge quick out of Mickey and the Big Wheel.:thumbsup2
I thought my first floor room on the back side of the Big Wheel building was a bit louder than my previous 3 rooms which had always been 4th floor/lakeside-once in the playdough building and twice in the Tramp building.

Thanks for the tip. I had wondered if the backside of the playdoh 60s building would be quieter since it's not facing the pool. I think that's also a great location in proximity to the kiddie and hippy dippy pool.

Anyone who's done laundry at the Pop, can I ask a couple of questions?

1. How much does it cost?
2. How big would you estimate the machines to be, i.e. how much can you fit comfortably?
3. Does it take once or twice to dry clothes thoroughly? and finally
4. About how long does it take to wash them, then dry?

Thanks so much in advance! I love being armed with information before we even get there! :woohoo:

If you are facing the lake, is it possible to see the Epcot fireworks? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what building were you in? I would still love to be in one with an icon that DS3 would like, if at all possible. I remember one year we stayed in the building, I believe with the jukebox, past the bowling pin pool, and although we were near the pool, we were not right across from it, so we only heard people one evening, it was very nice. Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

I asked for the 50's building and I was told I could see the fireworks at Epcot from there.

The room size is perfect for a place to sleep, shower, and take mid-day break.

We have been lucky that housekeeping is done by the time we return for the break.

can anyone tell me the best way to get from POP to Poly in the a.m.? want to have breakfast over there and not sure what's the best way to get there.

thanks!
(decided we HAVE to try tonga toast!

You will need to bus to MK and then either ride the monorail or boat over.( I think there is a boat, but I could be wrong) I would say it may take about 45 minutes in travel time, so allow for extra time as well for bus waiting and waiting for hte monorail.

I don't think that they have biscuits and gravy, but I could be wrong. The baby pool is REALLY shallow. Adults usually only go in with their kids, so if you have a child in there you should be fine. But you could go in the other pools as they are not deep anyways. You don't need to know how to swim to have fun in them.

I did laundry last trip. It's $2 to wash and $2 to dry. In quarters. I didn't think the washers were very big, but not super small either. But I was only doing small loads anyways when we were there. I brought my own detergent. I can't say how long it took as I would leave and walk around and then come back to check it. My clothes dried in one cycle, but one sock was still damp once, I just hung it in my room to finish drying.

I stayed in the 70's last year near the back by the lake, first floor. I love first floor and we only noticed noise one morning and it wasn't much. We stayed first floor across from the baby pool this year, two doors down from Baloo and Mowgli. I never noticed outside noise in this room at all. Never got pool noise either. So if I can get poolside from now I would do it. But since you know you don't like it, I would go for a higher floor and lake side.

If you are facing the pool or in building A, you won't see them. You need to ask for Illuminations view to be sure.

Thanks for the info. I don't know if I'd plan on doing major laundry, but with DS3, I'd like to at least be prepared in case some of his clothes get really dirty. And thanks for the perspective on the room, it's very helpful. I'm thinking either 70s lakeside or 60s not poolside. Both seem to be good.

And can I just add that I love the picture of your DD! What a riot! :)

Thanks. She was a bit of a stinker for pictures this trip, but now she loves the picture!

They all go through phases. Just recently DS will throw his arms up over his face and say "NO! No Cheese!" As in, say cheese...some days I can sneak in the photos, other days :scared1: ;)

We are going to be having supper at the Pop Food Court one night- any suggestions on what is good?(3 adults, 1 child)

TIA,Jen
