can anyone tell me the best way to get from POP to Poly in the a.m.? want to have breakfast over there and not sure what's the best way to get there.

thanks!
(decided we HAVE to try tonga toast!

Bus & monorail are the way to go. (a taxi is about $20). If you're heading to MK for the day the boat from Poly is a good choice as the boat goes MK to GF to Poly to MK....so it is a direct ride from Poly to MK.

Hi everyone - just wanted to post that we booked our trip to Pop Century Resort for May 5-10!! This will be the first trip for both kids, and my first trip since 1977, and my husbands first trip since 1986!!

Thanks to everyone who posts their experiences and likes/dislikes - it sure made it easier to make my decision to stay at Pop Century!

Cheers!:yay:

Hi everyone! :)

I haven't made it through all the post yets, but I have a question for all you Pop veterans, and forgive me if it's been asked before. I am not really preferential to which building we are in, I don't mind a walk to the food court in the morning, but last year, we payed for preferred (member of my family has hip trouble so this was our best option). This year, we're hoping to book if free dining comes out, but I do not want to be where we were last year. It was a great room as far as location but we were fourth floor, next to the Playdoh, right across from the Hippy Dippy Pool. Now, I'm in Disney, so I'm a happy gal, but I really hate noise at night when I'm trying to sleep. We even have a sound machine (cricket noises) for DS3 and I could still hear people very late at night. What is the best way to request a non-pool side room? How exactly should I phrase it, and should I ask when I book and then fax three days before as well? I've never been picky about where our room is, but after last year, I feel like this trip I need some peace and quiet...at least in the room, that is. ;)

Thank you so much for putting this info together. I also am grateful for the info on subbing to post. I've been going nuts looking for post i've made-lol!

There are sooooooo many pages to go through so this might have been answered. The buses to the parks pick up infront of the classic hall right? I dont want a long walk to my room especially after a long day at the park, is hippity building the best location to stay at? Which two areas do you recommend for short walks from room to buses?

are the areas by the pools really loud at night especially after 12am? TIA!

I would even think about taking the Poly/GF boat from MK to Poly and skip the Monorail all together. Or take the Monorail back.
First thing in the Morning the Monorail area at MK is particularly busy as everyone heads for MK.

The Boat to and from MK From Poly/GF looks like this:

If you don't like boats however you may want to stick to the Monorail, these boats are fun to ride on, but they rock a lot more than the Ferry does.

Have a Fun Trip!!

When I made my reservation, I asked to be placed in a bldg away from noise, 4th floor and facing the lake and I don't mind walking the distance. I was told no problem, they can accommodate :goodvibes

I have a question
When I look at this map
http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/PopCenturyMap.pdf

If you look at the map the paths end in little 'circles' in front of what appears to be the BIG ICONS. Am I correct in my assumption that the circles are the path around the BIG ICONS and the ICONS are facing in that direction away from building?

HMMM...or maybe the big icons are in the carved out RECTANGLES i the middle of the T of the building. The more I think about it the more I think its the later.

Thanks this will help me request a room properly. :lmao:

If you are facing the lake, is it possible to see the Epcot fireworks? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what building were you in? I would still love to be in one with an icon that DS3 would like, if at all possible. I remember one year we stayed in the building, I believe with the jukebox, past the bowling pin pool, and although we were near the pool, we were not right across from it, so we only heard people one evening, it was very nice. Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

Last year I was on the back of the jukebox building 3rd floor and was able to see the fireworks, but it was a hike to the main building.

Hi Pop fans! Am I correct in thinking that the 70s building would be fairly quiet since it's not sitting on top of a pool like the others are? Anyone who's stayed in the 70s, please weigh in! Plus, I think DS would get a huge quick out of Mickey and the Big Wheel.:thumbsup2

I've stayed in the 70's 2 times, once Lakeside 4th floor and once courtyard 1st floor. I didn't have problems with noise in either location. However, 1st floor does have more walk-by traffic. If you are especially concerned about noise I would recommend Lakeside upper floor and specify your desire for a quieter location.

I love the Big Wheel!

The big icons face each other between two buildings - take the 60's Hippy Dippy Pool as an example. There are 2 buildings on each side of the pool. The big icons face each other and the pool. The smaller icons are at each end of a building and disguise the stairway leading to all levels of the building.

The circles you are seeing lead around a garden area, which, if my memory is correct, houses some machinery and/or pipes and so is disguised.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks so much! As I'm looking at the map, I see that we have already stayed in the 50s and 60s, so I thought maybe the 70s would be a nice change, but still fun. I think DS would love the icons, and I know he'd love the Goofy water jets!:woohoo: (And maybe I could get some quiet when I sleep!)

We stayed in the 70s building, second floor on a wing facing a small grove of trees. It was very quiet. It was not a long walk to either the food court or the buses (we found a short cut). We really like the location.

Thanks much! Hopefully I can book this area, it seems to be great. :thumbsup2

i've always ended up in the 80's bldg. parking lot side. i've found it to be nice an quite and not to far from the buses or the food court.
