We will stay at pop on October.
We booked the standard room. Is it possible to request room at 60's 4th floor

Thank you

Yes, you can request the 60's. We did last Oct. We called about a week before and when we arrived we were given a room in the 60's on the 4th floor. Really liked it, saw Epcot's fireworks from there. Thinking of going this Oct. again, not booked yet.

Not a problem to make the request but there are no guarantees. Make it now and then fax it to them 2 or 3 days before you go. We have always done it this way and never had a problem.

ok i am goin to ask about the refillable mug?! i was wondering if anyone had a pic of what the mug looks like this yr ...

I don't have a picture but was there last week and bought three of them. The only difference between them is the handle. They had black, blue or sliver choices of the handle. The mugs have a white background with blue lids. All of the characters or on there as well as the castle. The writing says Walt Disney World Where dreams come true. There is no mention of POP Century on the mug at all. I hope this help some.

i got a mug last yr at alsmovies and was hopin to get one from pop. guess i will have to wait and see when i get there what it looks like
thanks

sort of a ridiculous question, but how dark are the rooms during the day with the curtains drawn? i think we might need to try the afternoon nap, but i'm not sure if my kids will fall asleep if it's too bright. i've been to hotels where it's about the same whether the curtains are open or closed, but others the curtain has a lining to keep it dark. thanks.

It's dark enough for a nap. They are thick heavy curtains and overlap so no light leaks in except under the bottom.

Anyone know how the fishing is at Hourglass lake?? They said it is stocked with Bass and Catfish.

Also ??

i was just told that they do have fishing equipment available for rent at the hotel. anyone verify this??

Jennifer

I never saw fishing equipment but did see people fishing but never saw anyone catch anything. You can see the fish from the bridge swimming. DH and a fisherman swear they saw an aligator in the hourglass lake too. I think they were both hallucinating but who knows.

When I was there last September, I did see some people fishing in the lake. I never did see them catch anything though. While I did see some fish while walking on Generation Gap Bridge, I mostly saw a lot of these...

Can someone give me a room # recommendation.
I'm thinking the 60's- don't care about view.
We are booked for a preferred room, and I am looking for something with a very short walk to the food court and bus stops. I need a room with 2 beds in it.
Thanks
I love the new thread !!

Pop Is our Favorite Value Because of the Hourglass lake and fishing. My Hubby is a big into Bass Fishing but the excursions are very pricey.....He brings his rods and has fished Hour glass lake and caught some Huge bass, a 5 pounder on our last trip ,last year August, I have not seen them rent the equipment...But do know they do the Cane Pole Fishing over at the Riverside but we have never done this.......Yes we have seen little alligators and the turtles and the duckies...We are will be arriving at the Pop in 2 weeks and yes the first thing hubby packs are his rods......

They are the same as last year, except there is no date on the mug, whereas last year they had 2007 on it. All the mugs at the various resorts are now generic. Very boring now IMO.

Hi everyone! :wave2: We will be at Pop in 6 weeks, the first week in April. :yay: Does anyone know what the weather is like then? Trying to figure out what to pack....mainly shorts, or maybe capris? How about at night, how cold will it get? Should we pack light jackets? Thanks for the input!!! We are too excited :cool1:

thanks. our youngest is taking a 3 hour nap at home and they all go to bed around 8-830. so going all day and staying up late with no nap would not be pleasant.

I have heard they don't like actual room number requests.

In 2007 our TA, Liz at Dream Come True, actually put down the same room number we had on our 2005 trip to Pop. Lo and behold, we were assigned that room.

Hey there! Glad you've found the new thread helpful!

Not that this has to change your mind, but one thing to keep in mind with preferred rooms is that unless you take the stairs (or are on level 1), you still may be walking just as far (plus some) to a standard room in the same "century" building. The reason is because you'll walk all the way to the elevator located at the middle of the building and then backtrack to the preferred rooms.

Another thing to think about is the position of the buildings to the left of Classic Hall. Take a close look at property map found in Post 1. If you cross "behind" the buildings towards the parking lot, it's little shortcut to the bus stop as opposed to walking inside the courtyards.

So if you get a room at a location you had not considered, keep these things in mind...you may find it's not as bad as you thought!

If you need naps and early bedtime, ask for a quiet location. I don't know if you can just request "quiet location" but you'd want notground floor, and notfacing the pool. I felt bad for some people on the ground floor because of all the foot traffic at all times of day. Maybe they weren't there, maybe they didn't hear it, but if you're going to be in the room a lot, I'd request an upper floor.
