i cant seem to find if its been answered - but I reserved a standard room at Pop, and all I need for it is a King Bed. Do I ask for one when i check in or do i call 5 days before my reservation to ask?

also, do you ask them roughly 5 days before to request what building to get into? distance really isnt an issue, i was just curious if i ended up wanting to request. thanks!!

also - i am planning on watching wishes from the polynesian resort beach - from what i can gather, i will need to take the monorail to the magic kindgom and then take the pop century bus back to the resort. i know it will be a nut house with everyone leaving the park, is there any other option? like taking the bus from the polynesian to downtown disney and then back to pop? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Have it put on your ressies NOW! The resorts prefer having that in writing ahead of time vs. calling or faxing, though you can still do that. Neither is a guarentee, but it helps to have it in writing NOW.

We waited for a bus to DTD at the Contemporary once and it took over 1/2 an hour to come, and still had to go to the Poly, so be prepared to wait if you choose that option.

However...

Hello all,

How is transportation to MK from POP and back on the party nights? Is it congested, fast, terrible, awesome, or just ok? We have never done a party there or even EEMH.

TIA
Karen :flower3:

For both quotes above: When the Pop lines get backed up they bring 2 and 3 buses at a time. You may still have to wait, but you get there eventually, and usually faster than you would expect. I think that would be much easier than getting to DTD and back.

Have a great trip! :wizard:

4 more days!!!!!!!!

Question re: bed rails- can I just call mousekeeping once we get to the room or should I have had that on my ressie?? Also, can mousekeeping come do it when we aren't there or should I hang around??

Thanks!
Kristin

King rooms are often Handicapped shower rooms and may not be available! But you certainly can request it. Some are connecting also !!

Last year we requested in at ASmu and we got one. The couple we went with did as well. I just dont know what rooms are with what floor in specific building. Im looking for a PoP Expert to help me request a King room Overlooking the Lake? Thanks!

When you get your booklet, it will have all the info pretty much. It has am ap to tell you where to go. I was worried too, but it was very easy. ME will take your bags to pop for you, but on the way home you need to take care of your luggage. Now if you airline is a participating one, then you can check in for your departure at pop, but I don't know all the details on that.
The transportation board will give you lots of info.

And if you accidentally throw your booklet away (like I did 2 days ago!), don't worry....they'll print your voucher for you at the airport. :sad2:

I cannot believe I did this!!!:headache: I still have my luggage tags (they're already on my bags), but the booklet got mixed into a pile of junk mail that I tossed 2 days ago - it is LONG gone! :( Thank goodness DME is prepared for goofs like me. :thumbsup2

I was left off of our ME voucher. They printed one at the airport to add me on no problem.!:thumbsup2

I just got back from the POP and what a nice place to stay. I can't believe how big it was. I think the next time I might try somewhere different, just to see what other things are like.

Slightly OT- But wasn't this thread titled the GROOVIEST or did I go completely nuts? :dance3:

Good eye! You are correct, and none of you have gone :goofy: ....at least not for this reason! :rotfl2: I changed it yesterday to be more grammatically correct. ;)

The previous thread was called "Groovy", so knowing that there's now a limit to 250 pages per thread, my logic was to make this one "Groovier", then the next one has the potential of being either the "Grooviest" or "Groovier Part 2". :hippie: It's been on my mind to change it for quite some time, and the thought came to me again yesterday while I was on the boards, so I fixed it. Can't get anything past this keen group though! ;)

:rotfl: I have been keeping a close eye because I may just switch my whole ressie over to Pop. I just don't know what I want to do anymore! :confused3

We are going to be at the POP at the end of Sept. I have read other places that they offer activiites at the pool. Anyone know about this? Sorry if this has already been asked and answered, I searched the 100+ pages and might have missed it.

The activities that I'm aware of are listed in Post #1 under the "Resort Entertainment" section. For example, the sand art crafts and ping pong are by the pool. If there are more that someone mentions here, I'll certainly add it!

It has long been our tradition to go over to the Poly to watch Wishes (do not forget the EWP too). We take the bus to either EPCOT or MK and catch the monorail to Poly (resort monorail) because we like the ride and often ride around a few times before getting off. It is a bit easier to get the monorail from EPCOT btw.

When we leave the Poly we take a bus to DTD, as it comes more often that time of night, and then to our resort for the same reason.

Maybe there is a better way but that is how we do it. I will be there 08/31. See you there??

Slightly Goofy

I am very interested in doing this myself. What time is the EWP typically? Is it worth the heaqdache of travelling all the way from Pop?

Tinker_Belle, it shure is, for us!! It is a way of welcoming us to DW. We unpack and rest up a bit and then saunter to the buses. Usually meet some nice folks on the way and head over to MK/EPCOT, whichever bus comes first. It is a bit easier to get on the monorail at EPCOT though. You can also just get off the bus at ANY park from POP and then take another bus directly over to the POLY. We prefer the monorail as we enjoy the ride, especially when it is dark. We ride around several times and soak in the atmosphere. It takes approximately 15 minutes for each complete tour.

We also make ressies at O'Hana's or Kona so it is a destination as well as the attractions. EWP usually runs about 9 pm but it depends on Wishes and what time it shows. I always get there early, remembering to ask the waiter for a to go cup for our beverages. Finding a beach chair is seldom a problem as few folks seem to know about this.

You will meet loads of nice people along the way as long as you flash that secret sign, a smile!:)

I will be there on the 31st of August and possibly one other time before Sept 13th. See you there?

Thank you so much, Slightly Goofy! It sounds great, and you're right about most people not knowing about it. I only recently heard about it myself. Thank you again for taking the time to give me all the details. I can't wait! Unfortunately, I have to wait a little longer than you though. :sad1: We're not going until October. Have a great time!

I have heard a few people mention watching wishes and EWP at the Poly. Where do you go to see both of these, I know that it ws written on the beach, but never been to the Poly. We have dinner at 1900 Park Fare, and would like to hop the resort monorail to the Poly for these events, but not sure once we get there, where do we go? What time is te EWP, can you see wishes and it from the same place? TIA
