I have heard a few people mention watching wishes and EWP at the Poly. Where do you go to see both of these, I know that it ws written on the beach, but never been to the Poly. We have dinner at 1900 Park Fare, and would like to hop the resort monorail to the Poly for these events, but not sure once we get there, where do we go? What time is te EWP, can you see wishes and it from the same place? TIA

You can see the EWP and Wishes from the beach at the Grand Floridian too. I'm sure there's beach chairs. Hopefully your dinner is over before Wishes. We usually aim for 2 hours for dinner before the start of Wishes or EWP. So if EWP is at 9 then we make ADR's for 7.

Here is a link to info on EWP: http://allearsnet.com/tp/ewp.htm

We unpack and rest up a bit and then saunter ................. over to the POLY. We prefer the monorail as we enjoy the ride, especially when it is dark. We ride around several times and soak in the atmosphere. It takes approximately 15 minutes for each complete tour.

We also make ressies at O'Hana's or Kona so it is a destination as well as the attractions. EWP usually runs about 9 pm but it depends on Wishes and what time it shows. I always get there early, remembering to ask the waiter for a to go cup for our beverages. Finding a beach chair is seldom a problem as few folks seem to know about this.

You will meet loads of nice people along the way as long as you flash that secret sign, a smile!:)

I will be there on the 31st of August and possibly one other time before Sept 13th. See you there?

Slightly Goofy who has a dear friend named Lisa also from NJ

We do the same but we stay at SOG so we walk over to the Poly. Then ride the monorail loops including the Epcot one. Dinner at Kona at 7 is a tradition for us followed by Pina Colada's on the beach while watching Wishes and EWP. Excellent way to ease into or kick off the vacation.:thumbsup2

Can't wait for October.

Anyone recall if they offer Cherry Coke in the food court?

This is what the front page of this thread says:
includes unlimited refills on the following: basic coffee, soda (Coke products: Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Fanta Orange, Sprite), apple juice, Minute Maid Light lemonaid (there is no lemonade available that doesn't contain artificial sweetener), unsweetened ice tea, hot tea, hot cocoa, frozen Cokes, and flavored ICEEs
Caffeine-free Diet Coke has been found to be inconsistently available from the soda fountain

I believe this list is kept up to date.

I'm sorry they do not. Below lists what is available.

Maybe AllStar Music still has it. This is the Pop Century forum and they don't have Cherry Coke at this time.

I don't know if there's a link to a map on the first page or this post but this is the website I use to check out Pop maps. http://willcad.org/disney_maps.shtml#values
Should help you figure out the numbering system. Good luck.

Tinker_Belle, October is a lovely time to go to DW and one of my favorites, my most favorite being right after Thanksgiving. When you leave the Poly you take a bus to DTD and get off at Marketplace where you only have a couple of steps to take to the bus stop and a comfortable place to wait, not very long, for a bus back to your resort. Make sure you get a seat right smack dab in front of the Castle, wonderful view, and you will be set for a lovely evening. Try to feel a bit of sympathy for all those huddled masses over at MK who are going to be shortly fighting their way out and to transportation for their resorts while you will not. :)

Minnie Lor, I prefer Kona food to O'Hana's especially now. :thumbsup2 I believe I have seen EWP from the GF but the view from Fort Wilderness is the best for EWP and the Poly for Wishes IMO. :worship:

Buckeye Gal, I are one too. I am from the Athens area, way back in the boonies.

It is the small attractions that many do not know about that those of us who are veterans seek out and make it worth going back again and again and again. Newbies cannot begin to understand. :confused3

I understand that I was just simply throwing the information out there as it was a Disney Value resort. Surprised they dont carry the same products.

If you look at the first post you can use the maps on there to figure out the rooms, they have the numbers on them and also the ariel view of the hotels has them color coded and with letters to indicate what they are.

So if you are looking for a lake view, the OP said buildings 3, 4, 5, 6 I believe. You look at the ariel maps on the first post of those buildings and look for the dark green rooms that have the letter K, those would be king rooms with a lake view.

Has anyone had a delivery from Disney Florist? I'm wondering if they can deliver directly to the room. Sort of loses a little of the magic if you just get a call to pick it up at the front desk.

Also - anybody had any luck with special ordering chocolate birthday cakes lately?

TIA!

Yes, but you cant have them 'waiting' in your room. They will deliver them after you check in.

Yes I order from them just a few weeks ago and we got back to our room before it was delievered (not there fault either) we were just pooped from being at the parks all day and a knock came at the door and my friend that I was sharing a room with (it was her birthday) was its for you and I said are you sure!! it kind of blew the surprise but it was well worth it.

Thanks so much for your response. It makes me wonder if I should try the twin instead, that's so much cheaper than the kids one! I'll have to pop on over to Amazon and take a look. :thumbsup2
I would cosider a ready bed as they are smaller and have the blanket attached. Will you have a stroller? It was a bit tight getting my Maclaren Volo (a relatively smaller stroller in the door of the room so I don't think you would want to move the table too close to the door.

I don't think that is tru. When we got them, we just walked to where they wer and took one. No one was around or asked us anything. And when we got of ME, they were just waiting outside, with no one around them either. Maybe during a really busy time they may, but honestly, they are big and bulky, so who wants to keep them any longer than you have to.
I had to give my ID when I got one just last Saturday. They ask for a drivers license but would accept some room keys (probably the ones with charging)-they had a paper for the CM to see which ones they could accept.

I may be wrong but I think the free fridges for medical reasons are very small and just for medications although some people have reported getting regular size ones !! This may explain why you didn't get one, but it is just a guess!!
I needed a fridge for my DD's medicine. I called a few days before my arrival (when I found out I would need it) and added the request to my reservation. They acknowledged it at check in and brought it up a few minutes after check in. They did bring the dorm size one. The day before I checked out I brought my gel pack down to luggage services and asked them to put it in their freezer so it would be frozen for my flight home.

I'm having NetGrocer send me water and pop to the resort. I also sent a huge box of stuff to Pop yesterday. Owners Locker is supposed to be delivering my purple locker on the 19th (my first visit hence the huge box).

So you see, I'll have quite a bit of stuff to haul to the room. Where will I get all of my stuff? front desk? some place different?

TIA
I had 2 boxes I mailed to myself, an order from the internet that I mailed to the resort-both of these were at the front desk when I checked in. I also had a grocery delivery and my new Owners Locker. The front desk CM brought out my 3 boxes and I had my carryon a stroller and my 5 year old (I was traveling alone with her). I told him I would go get a cart from luggage services and he went with me and had luggage services deliver the packages and groceries to my room. They said they couldn't find my empty Owners Locker. It still wasn't in my room when we got back from the resort that night but they did find it when I went back the next day to check. I just used my stroller to get it to the room.

On check out day I used a luggage cart.

4 more days!!!!!!!!

Question re: bed rails- can I just call mousekeeping once we get to the room or should I have had that on my ressie?? Also, can mousekeeping come do it when we aren't there or should I hang around??

Thanks!
Kristin
I just requested them at check in but they weren't in the room when we got back around 9pm. I called housekeeping from the room and they brought them up in less than 10 minutes.

TIA!
A friend of mine sent me something from the florist for my birthday last year and they handed it to me at check in.

dont feel like reading the whole thread...being lazy...but one question...
are there coffee makers in rooms?

From what I've read, there are no coffee makers. You can either suffer with the coffee they serve or bring your own pot. Or look to see if there is one to borrow on the budget board. Someone here has the link and advertises it often.

Hope that helped.

I will be needing to ship some stuff from Walmart to POP for June. Howfar in advance should I order it and have it shipped? I do not want it to arrive too early.

As mentioned, there are no coffee makers. I did want to add that if you read only Post #1, you won't have a need to read the entire thread to learn probably all you needed to know and more! So please take the time to check it out!

Well, it depends on how long it takes for Walmart to ship. If it doesn't say on website, I'd give them a call. The resorts will hold your package for two weeks. I sent a box UPS and it arrived in 3 days. I also ordered from NetGrocer on same day and it arrived via FedX on the same day. Pop is storing my stuff for 10 days. Hope this helps.

I returned last week from my solo trip & stayed at PC. I got everything I requested, 60's lakeside, 1st floor :thumbsup2 Not sure if this has been posted, but here is a picture of the safe with my laptop in it:

I was also able to get my Pinacolava at the pool bar :cool1:
