I have a question regarding room assignments. I am checking in on 5-16
(3 days woo-hoo!!) and I did call to ask for a room in the 60's. When I read through this thread it says that they assign rooms 5 days out. Does that mean that right now they know which room I am going to be in? Could I call them to ask that very question?

This is my first trip to one of their resorts and I am going alone and I just want to know what to expect once I get there.

Will I like this resort as an adult going solo? I have been there walking around with my kids last summer (we stayed off site) and it was neat - but this time I will be alone. How about the hippy dippy pool - many adults there alone swimming?

Thanks for the help!
Michelle

Michelle I think you will feel very comfortable staying here by yourself. I stayed her last week for my solo trip & not once did I feel unsafe. I did not go swimming, but there were a lot of adults at the pool. Have fun!

Hi Michelle!

I've stayed at Pop twice, once solo and once with a 12 yo. Both times I felt completely safe, and I swam in the Hippy Dippy Pool once or twice. I didn't feel weird at all. I enjoyed Pop very much, in fact I'm planning to take another solo in December and staying at Pop again!

I don't think they will give you any information about your room over the phone. I hear that yes, they supposedly plan the rooms 5 days out, but they do change. Each time I arrived, having made no room requests, I was asked if I had a preference. Each time I said no, I'll take what you give me, and was satisfied each time!

Have a safe and magical trip!

We have always faxed the information in about 3 or 4 days from checkin and our requests have been honoured each time.

I went solo inFeb and had a great time . I was on the first floor Lakeside in the 50's. It was so quiet and peacful !! I felt completely safe. I didn't go swimming as it was a little cool for me ,but I would mgo if the temp was right! I love Pop and have no desire to try another resort!!

I went solo to Pop last Dec. My room was 4th floor lake view jukebox building. I felt safe but be smart. Don't walk in very dark areas. Most everything is well lit just be smart and aware.

They GET your reservation 5 days out, but they can assign a room any time up until and including as you are standing there checking in.

When we stayed at Ft. Wilderness they had a cabin assigned that fullfilled all of my requests, but it wasn't ready, and they showed us another one on the map that was ready and asked if we wanted that one. So when we took it, our originally assigned cabin was available for someone else, and we may have taken someone else's assignment. So you can't tell in advance. : )

Have a great trip! :wizard:

Thanks everyone.

I can't wait only 2 more days!!!

I am going to be giving up rainy, 50 degree weather for sunny, 90 degree weather - ahhhhh.... Can't wait to use that pool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(oh yeah and have a drink in my hand too) :)

I'm jumping in because I decided to stay here in August for my 3 solo days before meeting up with a friend at POR.

I would love some advice on what section to stay in being that I'm solo. I will prob have a FL Res Rate, and may go preferred if I can.

I think you'd be fine in any room as a solo person. I went solo last Dec and stayed at Pop. I requested a 4th floor room facing the lake because I'm a light sleeper and needed quiet. I didn't hear anything. I knew that I had neighbors because I saw their windows decorated but I never heard a peep out of anybody.

Just be careful walking alone after dark. Stay on the well lit paths which is easy to do. I also carry my cell phone in hand when walking after dark.

KatGarcia, I second what Minnie Lor said. I have never stayed at POP before but have often been a bit wary about walking the dark paths from the parking lot at Sports. I even heard about an incident last September but have not heard more to know if it was a fact or not.

Since I will be alone I will be safer this time as I only have to defend myself and not my husband too. Not kidding folks!:confused3

Just use caution, even though you are at the Happiest Place on Earth there are those from the evil side who sneak in from time to time to take advantage of our good nature.

Slightly Goofy

We will be arriving at Pop Century on 5/29! We are traveling with another party so the reservationist "linked" our two reservations so that they could try and put us near each other. Neither of our parties have requested a perferred location. We have no problem with walking and would like an upper floor. Can anybody suggest a good location to request?

Kat Hi! I stayed solo in Feb at Pop! Iwas in 50's Lakeside ! Very quiet but a little walk to Classic ! The poolside can be noisy at night ! If you want close to Classic and preferred The Playdoh bldg is great , As I said poolside can be noisy but they have preferred non poolside! The 70's is also close to classic and is closer to buses . Ithink if you don't want a pool close the 70's might be good I would go for the Big Wheel bldg preferred! We love Pop !!

Okay I'm looking at my Map from 2007!!I would suggest Lakeside in 50's, 60's or 70's Nice and quiet and a pretty view of hourglass lake!! I know from 4th floor of 60's you could see Illuminations which is neat!!

One night I saw Illuminations, Wishes, and earlier I could see Fantasmic all from Jukebox Bldg (50's) lakeside 4th floor. I saw all this on my last night when I came back early to pack. Otherwise, I would've been at the parks to see it first hand.

1. Does anybody know how much a frozen coke is at Everything Pop
2. Do they serve tye-dye cheesecake at all hours (like could i get it at 7am)?
