Thank you all for getting to me so quickly, I knew that really I did,LOL..I am leaving in 2 days Cold front coming thru and the Mad dash to finish or maybe start laundry is on. Silly Me I think I was excited when my Ressie said Classic years but whatever room they give me I am pertty cool with as long as I am not by the Pool area.....Than you all for your Quick Responses......I need some coffee now To wake Up..........:surfweb:

Sorry if this has already been asked. When did Pop change the preferred rooms? I believe awhile back all the rooms in the 60's bldg were preferred, not just some room. Anyone know for sure?:confused3

It was sometime around May 2006. I took my DD to Pop for her 7th birthday. When I booked it was the 60's that was preferred but when we got there they had changed the preferred rooms to be part of the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

I had booked a standard room and we got a room on the lakeside of the Tramp building. It was a great spot.

It was earlier than that. I think last year when I was there in March parts of the 60's was NOT preferred, and some of the 50's was.

Its silly the POP Is our favorite resort of all the Values....I am leaving in 2 days and went into my email to make sure everything was correct.....and I see that They have the Classic years on my reservation.....Which area is this??? Does anyone know which years it is??? I had a code and they were offering me a Prefered but we took the standard as it was cheaper and I dont like being to close to the pools, A little to noisy for Hubby and the girls dont sleep as well, But back to my Question, Is the classic years towards the back of the resort??? Thanks in advance ......HAve to go get packing.

The clasic years are the 50's thru the 90's. The Legendary years are the ones that are not finished so you are fine !! Just ask for a room NOT poolside . Call a few days ahead and check it is on your ressies. I agree poolside is noisy but DD wants it so she can watch the kids from the room. We'll see!!

There are two bus stops once you arrive at Downtown Disney; one in Pleasure Island and the other at the Marketplace. Here's a map I Googled that shows the bus stations at DTD:

http://wdisneyw.co.uk/ddmap.html

As far as commute time, there's a transportation calculator and time estimates up in Post #1 to help you, too.

Have a great time!

Do you guys know which bus stop it stops at first? I'm trying to figure how early to leave for DTD the day of our BBB.
Anyone here do BBB at DTD? Especially since the MK one opened? Is it still super busy, and do the yget behind as much. We have an 11 AM appointment and worried if they are behind we won't have much time to make it back to Pop for ME to take us to the airport.

For those of you who have faxed a room request, What did you write on the Fax? Your confirmation #, names and requests :, anything else??

When my nephew and I went last year, the bus dropped us off at the extreme right of DTD (according to the map). We wanted to go to DisneyQuest, and it took a long and somehow confusing walk to get there! :rotfl: If we'd realized at that point that the bus driver was dropping people off at the other stop, we may have waited. When we left, we waited at the other stop and the bus picked the people up there and went straight back to Pop.

Thanks Jenseib and Lovesdumbo,
We went in 2005, and paid preferred. But we got the lakeside view in the 60's bldg. I was about to call looking for a partial refund! However, we really enjoyed the lakeside fourth floor. We could see fireworks at night from the balcony. I have no idea where they came from, but it was nice!:cloud9:

The bus goes to DTD as the first stop then on to Pleasure Island. I know this because we had to get off the bus at DTD (bus was packed) to let the people off then get back on to go to Disney Quest. I don't mean get off and stand in line again, just get off because we were standing then reboard once half the bus unloaded.

On another thread, I thought I read that Pop's luggage service closes at 11pm-is this true? So if you got in aroung midnight on DME, you wouldn't have your luggage delivered until the am?

When we stayed at Sports last year we got in after 10:00 pm. Our luggage came at 1 am or so. We had the choice to have it delivered then or wait until the morning. DH was still up, so we got it at 1:00 am...a bell hop delivered it to us.

Firstly, I love these boards! Since I havne't been to WDW since Grad Nite '95, I realize that lots have changed since then! I can't wait to introduce DD (10) to Mickey.
Anyway, this is our family's first stay ON property--April 7 - 11) , and I can't wait to see POP. We are planning to save some $$$ by eating/snacking in our rooms, so I have a strange question--what type of condiments does the food court have available? For instance, jelly for toast? Honey for tea? Ranch dressing for chicken strips (purchased at POP)? My DH is picky in how he eats and needs to know if he needs to bring with us or not.

Thanks so much for all the info! Only about 6 weeks til we go!!!

Read the first page of this thread. I beleive it says what kind of condiments are offered, plus LOTS of other valuable info!

Here is a sample of the one I faxed today. I will let you know if it worked after I get back next week.

When I listed our names I put DH first as the reservation has his name listed first for everything.

For those who have used ME but don't leave till later.... We check out by 11, but it will be like 1:30 before we leave for the airport. So where exactly do you take your luggage for them to store until that time. We are not on a participating airline, so we have to take our luggage ourselves to the bus and can't pre check them in.

There is a place for holding luggage at Pop, it's outside in the front, they will hold your luggage until you come back to pick if up. It's free, but I suggest going early to drop it off, there was a line when we did it at 11:00.

You might want to check www.minimus.biz. They sell all sorts of individual sized items from toiletries to snacks to condiments. I think you'd be surprised by their variety. They even have little bottles of flavored olive oils (not that I've tried any of those  ). I have used them a few times and if your order is $20 you get free shipping. I ship right to the resort. They are on the west coast somewhere so I order 2 weeks before my arrival. I don't have to worry about toiletries in my luggage and I love that I can order the exact quantities and varieties of say indivual bowls of cereal. They do a great job separating food from non food items and their prices aren't too bad.

Like Debbie said you can store your luggage with luggage services. And even if you were on a participating airline you can store your carry on too. We always go for one last spin at a park before ME.

I make sure the request is "noted" in the reservation. Then I call the resort a fews days before our arrival; then fax them a request like this one (we weren't too picky for this trip, just two days):

So far we've been able to get what we requested.

We are headed back to Pop in July and I remember seeing frozen birthday cakes in the drink cooler cases. Does anyone have a picture of these, remember exactly what they look like, or ever bought one?

So you take your luggage outside? What if it is raining? Is the opposite side of the bus stops to the parks?
