Last year I tried to book a preferred room to no avail. Instead, I put in a request "close to the food court". We were on the first floor of building one, the second room over from the middle of the T-basically two doors down from preferred. It was a great spot--short walk to the food court and to the buses (to the front of the building).

We were on the ground floor of the Lady building(building 1) of the 1950's area in room 1149 and it was close to pools and food court and not to far from the bus area...

I think if you put a very simple request like "Close to Classic Hall" then they will do what they can to make it happen. There are a lot of locations that fit this description. I'd even guess you could get close to the food court and close to a pool. :)

Sometimes it's hard to tell how far away things are from the map. For example, look at building 6. It's almost all non-preferred, but some of the rooms are very close to the food court. And if you were near the preferred area, but on the back side of the building, there is a short cut to the 60's pool.

And really, unless you're on the first floor or always take the stairs, there is little difference between the preferred and standard rooms overlooking the courtyard because you still have to get to the elevator first.

We bnooked a visit to the BBB on our checkout day! Our DD will just love it! Only 5 days till we leave. I can't wait! Now if only I could drop 40 lbs in those 5 days!!!

We are also doing the BBB, this is something my DD is SO excited about!! Are you going to the one in DD or the one in MK? I think we will do the big package where they give you the pictures.princess:

We are doing it at DTD. We got the crown package. We are going to bring our own dress. And they will do the photoshoot and put it on your photopass. I have already prepurchased a photopass CD.

WOOHOO - 3 more sleeps!

jenseib - how/where do you prepurchase your photopass CD?
:confused3

How do you pre-purchase the photopass cd??? Do you just go to the photopass site? We purchased a CD last year but not until we returned home.

There is a couple of things you can do to get photpass cheaper.
I am doing both actually.
One is to look on the budget board for a group going during the time you are and you all chip in and pay for 1 CD and then the "host" purchases it, you all have access to it and load your photopass pictures on it and do what you want to them (adding borders, etc), then when everyone is done, in the time alotted, the host recieves the CD and makes copies and sends them to each person. This is allowable because once the CD is bought you have the copyrights to it and can do what you want in the way of making copies or pictures. I am in a group and it cost me $26 including the cost of my photopass, the shipping and making of CD.
OR you can pre purchase a CD and it will cost $99 instead of $130. Our group prepurchased the CD as well. We are all going the first part of March, so it is important to get people in your group (if you chose to do a group) that are going at a similar time.

Here is the prepurchase link

Have there been any cases of bed bugs at this hotel?
If you request a fridge do you always get one?

TIA:thumbsup2

Thank you so much...I appreciate it!

Becuase of you guys we are thinking of switching our August trip to Pop. You guys are doing a great job on this thread. THANK YOU!!!!!!:yay:

I don't have any pictures, but the 2 times we used a crib, it was a pack and play. I brought my own blanket for a taste of home. We had stayed in Pop with a king (no pics either) but it was nice and roomy with the pack and play...much better than the 2 doubles with pnp.

Sorry if this has already been asked. When did Pop change the preferred rooms? I believe awhile back all the rooms in the 60's bldg were preferred, not just some room. Anyone know for sure?:confused3

Yes I believe you are right but now it is rooms in 60's, 50's and 70's .If you look at the map of Pop they are I believe the ones closer to Classic hall so the ones further back in all those bldgs are standard and I know it was that way last year!!

Its silly the POP Is our favorite resort of all the Values....I am leaving in 2 days and went into my email to make sure everything was correct.....and I see that They have the Classic years on my reservation.....Which area is this??? Does anyone know which years it is??? I had a code and they were offering me a Prefered but we took the standard as it was cheaper and I dont like being to close to the pools, A little to noisy for Hubby and the girls dont sleep as well, But back to my Question, Is the classic years towards the back of the resort??? Thanks in advance ......HAve to go get packing.

The resort is broken into the Classic Years and the Legendary Years. The Classic Years is the only section open, and it covers 1950-1990. There's some interesting info and video links inside of other linked threads from Post #1 of this thread about the Legendary years!

I'm jealous you're about to leave!! Have a great time!

Tink the Classic Years is all of what POP is today. Buildings for 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's and 1990's. The empty part of POP in the back was and maybe still will be the Legendary Years (if they ever finish it). That is 1900's, 1910's, 1920's, 1930's and 1940,s. I took a picture of the Legendary Years when we were there last month. I'll try to post a picture for you.
