This is good news!! DBF is worried that we won't have "anything" to eat at POP and it will all be bad mall food court/school cafeteria type food. He thinks we will be stuck eating all TS meals. I have been reading more and more about the good food there, I am pretty sure he can find "something." :lmao::rolleyes1

LOVE the shrimp lo mein and hubby loved beef and brocolli...see link in my siggie for more! Can't wait to get back there for a day before switching to poly.

Worried about transitioning kids from pop. Worried they wont want to leave!
We love pop.;)

Under the FAQ part of this thread it says that you can trick or treat at Pop. Does anyone have any more information about how this works? Also what date and time is this held? I have done several searches and have been unable to find out any information about it.

Thanks

Done it many times !!The address is on First page for Pop, I put my name first with c/o and my ressie # and arival date .Allow a good 7 days . I have always mailed from the Post Office . Never had a problem !1When I check in I just ask for the box !!

Thanks for the information. I will need to get it out later this week then as we arrive on the 21st.

I don't have any info on the trick or treat at POP, but DTD has a very nice Trick or Treat set up! You go to the different stores for candy, there are stilt walkers, magic shows, DJ dance party, costume parade, story tellers, etc.

My favorite place for Trick or Treat is inside Sea World. It's included with park admission on certain weekends leading up to Halloween. They have a bunch of candy spots, a special Halloween Sesame Street show, a maze, photo opportunities, etc.

Our flight lands in Orlando around 1:15 pm on Sunday, Aug. 21. :cool1:

  • Magic Express to POP
  • Check-In
  • Unpack a few things
  • Bus to Magic Kingdom

Is it reasonable to assume we would make it to the Magic Kingdom around 5 p.m.? We have an ADR for 6:00 at the Plaza and I know we will want to venture up to the castle before dinner.

As always, THANKS!!

We do the same thing! Allowing for 4 hours to get to the MK is alot. We plan on getting to Pop about 1-1.5 hours from the plane landing. Then, we do on line check in and take only 15 minutes to check in usually. Sometimes the room is ready and sometimes it isn't. Last year we ate in the Pop food court and were at the ark an hour after walking into Pop to check in - with food. Have fun - you'll be okay!:surfweb:

Just faxed my 'special requests'!!! Although I consider myself pretty low maintenance! Double Bed room in building 1!! :thumbsup2

Now if I can get through this work week!!! :laundy:

Are the POP doors magnetic, as in are they metal and can I put a magnet on them? No magnetic like it will hold paperclips to it! :lmao: (again need face-palm smilie)

I saw a magnet on EBAY that I thought would be perfect.

EDIT: I got my answer on another thread, so disregard!! BTW if you didn't already know, the answer is yes, they are metal. :)

Just changed our Nov 10-day stay to CSR from POP because it was only a couple of hundred dollars difference. CSR looks beautiful and has gotten great reviews BUT I {heart} POP which is making me not feel 100% about the decision. I know my DD3's face would have been priceless seeing all the larger-than-life things around POP and we just watched Lady and the Tramp which she loved. But the thought of queen beds, romantic lighting at night and a water slide at the pool drew me to CSR. I just hope I don't miss POP too much. :sad1:

I sort of feel the same way but it a good way. We upgraded to CBR this am after tossing around the idea for months. I finally just did it with less than 3 weeks left. . We are there also for 10 days. We aren't getting queen beds but i know it will be super hot and we will be spending more time at the resort than usual. I will miss pop such a great resort.

So, did they make you pay another $50 change fee or did they waive it this time because you're moving up and paying more?

You'll love it! I truly wish I could afford to upgrade but this is a budget trip & I need to stick to it!!! I don't do well with the Turbo Toilets & double beds @ POP but for the short time we will be there I'll suck it up!!!

We love CSR!!! It's my favorite resort, overall! (POP is my favorite value resort.) We stayed at CSR in March and will be staying there again in 19 days!! I can't wait. The queen beds were wonderful! The Dig site is the best playground on property! And the pool and slide are so much fun!!! Plus you can get a microwave in your room, if one is available!

Here is my TR from CSR http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2679280

You can always take a bus to visit Pop and walk around to show your daughter the icons and maybe eat some tie-dye cheesecake!!

I upgraded to CBR this morning also, but didn't tell the wife. She won't know until we actually arrive at CBR. Initially, I upgraded to the DDP from QSDP for our Pop stay. Last night, I decided to price a stay at CBR and Port Orleans. They were only $200 more, so I switched our reservation and I'm the only one that knows. The trip is a surprise for my DS and the resort upgrade is a surprise for my DW. It's going to be hard not talking about everything with the people that I'll be traveling with.

Very cool of you!!! :thumbsup2

Had a short trip to Pop this weekend. We usually dont get preferred because we are usually staying a week or more and it adds up. We have always got the 90s, far from drink refills but close to pool and busses. This time since just dh and me only 2 days got preferred. Wouldn't know it? got the 70s farrest preferred from pool and food. decided oh well, just take it. on 3rd floor king, ok but it is a handicapped room, still thought ok. Then tried to take a shower, terrible, hard to get under, whole floor of bathroom wet. hated it! So for the 1st time, i went to concierage for request. We didnt want to move, but didnt want to pay for preferred for this. I was very nice and she refunded me $50.00 even though it had only been 30.00 more for two days. Disney restored my faith in pixie dust. Now in our condo, but going to parks Thursday as we spend 2 days at Universal Tues and Wed.

Thanks. I knew about Downtown Disney and was actually planning on doing that until I read the FAQ again and saw about trick or treating at Pop. Just thought it might work out better at the resort. We are actually planning on doing Sea World this trip as well but not until after Disney so unfortuanately we will miss their Halloween events. We are doing a grand gathering with my husbands family so the schedule is pretty tight for the Disney portion of the trip.

We were at pop 2 years ago for Halloween night. They had activites by the pool for the kids. There was 4 of 5 tables set up with stuff to do. I do recall the TOT. Maybe someone who has done in can give more info on that.
