We're going the same week as you in Aug.

We do get WP&F but we make sure to visit the water parks at least twice, and best case three times, to make it worth it. On our last visit we went to TL twice and BB once. What we do is we make sure to get to the water park first thing when they open to maximize the day, plus like the theme parks the shortest or no lines for slides is right when they open.

In two visits we spent the morning at a water park, ate lunch there, then returned to Pop before heading to a theme park. In one visit we spent the morning at TL, returned a little earlier for lunch at Pop, then went to a theme park. Yes, you spend less time at theme parks on those days, but the water parks are great on their own and the water is so refreshing.

In August, I expect the water parks will open at 9am instead of 10am in September, to give us more time in the morning, that will make the logistics even better.

Hi, we will be there that week too!:cheer2:
We will get the WP&M add on because we also plan on hitting a water park when they open for 2 or 3 hours, going to Pop for lunch, then hitting a theme park. Maybe we will see you there! :dance3:

What a day....on my way home from work the highway was shut down due to the snow and an over-turned truck. Finally got home only to shovel our long driveway. BUT the good news...I finally shovel my way to the mailbox to find our Disney packet with all our vouchers and tags!!!! WooooHoooo, Pop here we come. Don't you love how Disney brightens a day! :thumbsup2

That means we are getting closer! Since I am in near you hopefully I will get my stuff tomorrow. I can't wait to get it..it will finally make it all more real.

I am so missing that chocolate chip smell that hits you when you open the door... Heck, who am I kidding?? I am missing everything today!

More snow again today, I'm getting a little nervous for our trip in a few weeks. Trying to research our options if our flight is delayed or canceled.

I am doing the same thing when it comes to snow..I am thinking maybe if they are calling for bad weather see if we could fly out sometime friday instead of sat...I looked at SW prices and they are about the same. I am sure adding another night on at Pop shouldn' be to much of a problem. I am planning for the worse and hoping for the best..as long as we can just get out of Philly I will be happy..getting home I really don't care to much about.

Just booked POP for March 21-25, super excited! My brother and his family are going for the first time and we have requested connecting rooms.

Is the consensus to use disney transport to all the parks? We are driving for the first time as well so we will have our cars.

THANKS!

I am leaving for the airport in 1 hour! Will be at Pop later this evening!!!!!!

Excitement doesn't even come close to how I am feeling right now!!!:thumbsup2:cool1:

HI all, newbie here with some POP questions :wave2:

First I have read a little about a fridge swap..were do I find the information about the details of this? If we end up with a cooler, are there ice machines on every floor or at least every building??

I see the hotel is set up by themes (decades) but then I see information about building numbers. Do any of the decades match a building number? Im still trying to figure out what is where. :earsboy:

We are going to have 2 families in Sept 2011 going down with 3 children (3, 5 & 9) I am trying to figure out what location would work out best for us. I know I do want a quieter area or I will have a hard time at night with pool or people noise. Any suggestions?

:wizard: Leaving the office in 20 mins! My mom, sister and I get our mani/pedis tonight and then the whole gang is flying to Florida tomorrow am. By this time tomorrow, I will be at MCO waiting for the ME to take me to POP. YAY!!! :woohoo::banana::cool1::dance3::cheer2:

Boarding the Disney Magic Saturday! First time on the DCL!!!

Happy for you. Hoping all your vacation wishes come true. DCL was so magical but it's been way too long since the last time for me. Please let us know your impressions of Pop. Have a great trip.

Check the first post on this thread-it should have an overview map of the resort. The decades don't correspond to the room/building numbers. As far as quiet, I hear the buildings that overlook the lake are pretty quiet (I think it's the 60's??).

There should be fridge swap threads on these boards-I haven't seen any in a while but I haven't looked. We get ours free because we have meds to store. (At least we used to-hoping its still the same). And there should be plenty of ice machines around if you end up using the cooler.

Have a great trip!

After making reservations, canceling reservations, deciding to go to Myrtle Beach, we have made reservations for POP July 30-August 4th to celebrate my 40th Birthday and our 10th Anniversary. The best party, the kids have no idea we have changed plans again. Can't wait!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Oh dang, I just lost my post...in a nutshell I did go back to the first thread and now I see this which is what I was looking for.

10 T-shaped themed lodges; 4 floors each
1950’s: Buildings #1 (Lady), #2 (Jukebox), #3 (Tramp); bowling pin stairs
1960’s: Buildings #4 (Play-Doh), #5 (Mowgli & Baloo); Duncan Yo-Yo stairs
1970’s: Buildings #6 (Mickey Phone), #10 (Big Wheel); 8-track tape stairs
1980’s: Buildings #7 (Roger Rabbit), #9 (Sony Walkman); Rubik's Cube stairs
1990’s: Building #8 (Lap Top Computer); cell phone stairs

Is there a map anywhere of all the buildings? I found one that had a few of the buildings marked out (sorry I cant post a link yet as I do not have enough posts)

I just booked our trip for Sept 2011 this morning! SO excited to take our 2 girls there & celebrate my oldest's 3rd birthday there. Hubby & I have stayed at POP 5 times, but it's been a couple years. I saw on the first couple of posts that POP was rehabbing the rooms in 2010 - are they all complete now?

We like staying in the 50's section, 4th floor with a view of the lake for a quiet room, but would love to stay in a rehabbed section if possible. Maybe the 70's would be better with 2 kids under 3 for the playground area & Goofy popjets? Any advice? :)
