Thinking of staying here intead of WL.Gonna read over this thread and then decide!

I had a split stay at Pop and WL 2 years ago. When we got to WL we hated it and asked to be moved back to Pop

As I shoveled myself out of the driveway - yet again this year - all I could think about was Disney....Disney, Disney, Disney. Then I realized, I am going in 17 days.....17 DAYS! That's less than 3 weeks away....it's two weeks from this Saturday! OMG.....IT'S FINALLY GETTING CLOSE! It's time to find some shorts (hopefully!!!!) and get out of this snow! I love NJ and I love snow - but really, how many storms are we going to get this year? No storms on the 29th, No storms on the 29th, No storms on the 29th. (If I keep saying it, maybe it will keep the snow away so we can fly out of Philly!)

I am getting so excited that I just can't take it anymore. We are going to celebrate my daughter's birthday (last week) and my birthday (today). Happy Birthday to me! HOLY COW....17 MORE DAYS! can you tell I'm a little excited?

It'll be alot of fun to get out of the snow for awhile! Just pack some warm clothes. My daughter is at WDW now and says its very cool at night. She also packed a large carry on and it's a good thing she did because the flights were all cancelled after she was at the airport yesterday. So Pop got them a room and then ME gave them a ride back. good thing she had her carryon with her cold weather clothes in it because they sent her luggage to Detroit! She's supposed to get it back tonight. so pack extra clothes because you never know what'll happen with the planes!

Here now This week has been amazing! There is nobody here!!!!! Even all the CM's are commenting on how DEAD everything is. Walk on almost everything, no lines for busses last night at MK after WIshes, etc.

We are in Building 3...backside. So nice!! I thought I would hate the 50's but I do love it!

LOVE back side of 50's bldg 3!! So glad you're having a great time and such low crowds. It is usually a perfect week crowd wise.

that's what we like to hear! We will be checking into POP on 1/23 but leaving here (Delaware) after snow, snow, snow. Not such a big deal to you Minn folk but DE? really? Our son is living in MN right now and he says he just pretty much ignores it now and expects the cold/snow/ice whatever.

We do not like crowds or hot so weather reports and crowd reports seem perect for us.

Did you pay for preferred or did they just put you there or is your building some rooms of both (never stayed here) It looks very close to main hall. Only section I really hope we don't get is 80 or 90 's I guess. I do not walk that well and we love to use our refillable mugs.

Excited to be going but I would be lying if I didn't say I am a bit nervous/worried about going value. How has the food court area been this week? crowded? cleanliness wise? So glad to hear about awesome bus service.


We are driving (but like to park the car for the week)so we just need to get down the road, snow usually doesn't bother us driving just so long as FL doesn't get it. They are apparently the only state in the union to be snow free this month!

Hi! Yeah, I don't even notice the snow at home anymore...except when I see it must have melted a bit b/c I can see our mailbox again

We did not pay for preferred and we were not put in preferred.

I have stayed in the 90's before and the walk was about the same as I have now. Except across a parking lot vs through the resort.

The food court has been great! Seriously - we went for breakfast one morning - the lines were small. Like 3 people in each line. WEnt at 8. Seating - plenty of it on the right hand side, but we sat outside b/c my kids had energy to burn

Everything here has been spotless. WE have used the kiddie pool a few times this week...the kids play in it at night while DH and I enjoy a beverage. It's such a nice way to end the evening. And we have frequented the game room, as well. I think my kids could spend the whole day in there!!!

Did you pay for preferred or did they just put you there or is your building some rooms of both (never stayed here) It looks very close to main hall.

50's bldgs 1 & 3 have some preferred rooms, but in bldg 3 it is only in the front (pool side, though not in front of the pool) and the room before the Tramp icon (the elevators are behind the icons).

Since it is a slower season, be sure to have your request on the reservation and speak with the CM checking you in before the keys are made up (makes it easier for them to make changes, so it can still be done).

I hear you about this snow...enough already! Only 16 more days I talked to my DH about getting a flight out the night before if snow is expected again on departure day. From what I gather all we'll need to do is get a room only for one night at pop and since Southwest doesn't apply charges for changing flights it should be easy to do (provided that seats are available).

Does anyone know how this "room only" for one night would work out if we decided to come down the day before our original check-in date? We have 2 rooms (family of 5) with dinning package. We wouldn't need park tickets or dinning package if we do decided to head down to Pop a day earlier.

Yes DH and I talked as well and that is what we are doing. I would love if someone who chime in with how that all would work...hopefully it wouldn't be to bad. I would think with it being such a slow season we wouldn't have a problem getting in there for another night.

I bet it would be no issue at all -- just call DME and let them know the change in plans. I did that once when I had to change to a later flight on the same day. I expect changing to an earlier day would be no problem for them. Transportation board folks would know for certain.

As long as you have a reservation in a disney owned resort for that day, its fine.

That is correct. We are also flying in a day early. We just have to go
back to the main desk in morning and re register for the next registration . Just call them and they will book one night for you.
