How can either of you compare Pop to a Deluxe? Obviously it can't compare. You should know that by the price you paid compared to what you would pay for the deluxe resorts. That is not fair to Pop. You should take it for what it is. A Value resort. And then if you don't like it, then that is your opinion and you have a right to it. JMHO

Did you not read what I wrote? I said Pop wasn't for us anymore, but I understand why people stay there. Its not like I'm the only person to say that it has loud toilets and a motel feel. Its obviously not a deluxe (and I said that in my original post).

We gave Pop another chance and decided its not for us. Just because its not the same type of hotel (value vs. deluxe) doesn't mean I can't compare them. In the end, I compared a value to a deluxe and I would rather pay twice as much to stay at a nicer hotel.

People post all the time trying to decide whether to go cheap and stay at a value or go expensive and stay at a deluxe. My post could help them decide since I've stayed at both. I'm not hating on Pop just offering my opinion.

I would love to know how many stops does the Magical Express make before heading to Pop on average

The ME has only ever made 1 stop before Pop any time I have been !! A few times Pop has been the first stop!!

I'll be there in 25 days....and it's killing me! It's taking forever to get here. I've started finding shorts and tshirts (hopefully I'll be able to wear them - rather than sweatshirts!)

We take ME every time we go. When we've gone, sometimes Pop is the first stop, sometimes Carribean Beach Resort is first and Pop is second. I've never been on a bus for more than the 2nd stop. Hope this helps.

We love POP and can't wait to go down! This will be our 5th straight year at POP. Last year it was quite hot in Sept. but we paced ourselves to handle it. The MNSSHP was nice but not great - too many people on the day we went. I have won lava lamps the last 32 years at POP's arcade - it's pretty easy to do - there's one game , a roulette wheel that gives alot of tix when it's working right.

Looks like we will be down there the same time again this year.

Has anyone used garden grocer? I was on their website and it said they deliver to selected resorts without you being there, is Pop one of them? Our flight is scheduled to land at 11pm and I have an 18 month old, so I need milk and stuff right away, TIA

The anticipation is killing me as well. This week I am pulling suitcases out I don't care. I have to start doing more to get ready because it is killing me just sitting here and thinking about it. It better be warm enough for shorts..or I will be dealing with one unhappy dh.

We just returned on 12/28/10 and it only made ONE stop prior to POP (at CBR).

we always arrive later in the day coming from the west coast, but it was usually a couple of hours, I just pack an overnight bag with essentials just in case

I was thinking of just picking up my bags ---- I am fighting with myself because I don't know how I am going to carry everything! But I don't want my bags at 11 (I get in at 7) and I am not good at packing an overnight bag. So --- I still will try to decide....

The first two times we used ME, it took several hours for our bags to show up. After that, we stopped checking the bags and would bring them with us to the room.

I would consider checking them again, however I would pack the carry-on better, with a change of clothes and some stuff to freshen up with.

Yes. We did this last year and intend on doing it again in August. We arrived at about noon and I scheduled the delivery for like between 8-11am. I got a text saying it was delivered when I got off the plane and when I got to the resort, all of our groceries were at the bell station (refrigerated stuff and all)! Cannot say enough good things about their service. They even delivered a case of beer for me. Nice to have a cold one at the pool on an August afternoon

30 days for me!

We - hopefully! - get in around noon on Feb 4 and then I have NO idea what we're doing. I'm just hoping for unseasonably warm weather and maybe we can go waste a few hours at Typhoon Lagoon! One of my grade school best friends, who will be 7.5 months pregnant, and her husband are going to visit us on Saturday and we have yet to plan what we'll do!

Getting excited, as it gets colder here.

I always take ME and always plan to have them take my bags, but everytime I've gotten there, my bags were going around the belt at the airport, so I always grab them and take them with me! The only exception was our last trip in September. By the time we got to the luggage, ME had already picked up our bags and they were in our room about 1 hour after we got there.

It sounds like you could have actually missed the bus you were supposed to be on (since it left at 5:15am - which is why they say that you need to be there 15 minutes early). Thus, you ended up waiting for the next bus (which was still late, since it should have been there about 5:45am).

Glad to hear an overall good report for POP! And I'm glad you enjoyed your trip.

I honestly don't think we missed it...I think they messed up. The guy that checked me in for my flight at the desk they have outside didn't say anything about the bus having already left...and that desk opens at 5AM. Only thing he said when I told him I was waiting for a 5:15 bus is that it was probably running a bit late. I think he would have told me if it had come and gone. And the other people that showed up shortly after I did, were waiting for a 5:45 bus (but she said her info was wrong and she was told it should have been 5:15). Anyway...5:45 didn't show up til almost 6, so I just think they messed up. Maybe there just aren't that many people on early AM busses...I certainly don't see them having both a 5:15 and a 5:45 AM bus...just not enough people that early to fill 2 busses within 30 minutes. They didn't stop anywhere else to pick up anyone...just a big bus with 5 people on it. I just think they messed up, but will never really know.
