I got my travel documents in the mail today!!!! I am sooooo ready for this trip!!!! :cool1::banana::dance3:

We got ours yesterday as well!! :cool1:

:santa:25 DAYS!!!:santa:

I wrote out our fax request yesterday and have it saved on the computer, ready to print and fax. The boys have even started packing their backpacks for the trip. We are soooo ready to be in Disney and to be in our favorite resort!:banana:

We always stay preferred but it is vital we are as close to the food court and the buses as possible. DH is a diabetic and the feet take such a beating at WDW, every step we save is important.
The 60's and parts of the 70's and 50's are preferred, the 80's and 90's are all standard rooms. They aren't far off but a couple hundred feet is a lot for us.

I say if walking an extra 200-300 ft isn't a big deal to you, then stay in the decade that you grew up in. As for the kids, that isn't as important. But for us adults it takes us back to our youth and adds "magic" to the stay.

Somewhere in this post, I think it might have been posted by Canadianman, but there is a chart showing the buildings and what room #'s are where. However, one time we stayed in room 0125 which is 70's building 10. It was not preferred. But... it its at the center of the building, so only steps from the preferred side. It faced trees and was close to the nearly hidden children's play area which is a climbing fort thing. It was quiet, yet steps from the action. Other rooms that are within a few rooms of this room, any floor, on either side of the building center would suit the posters need for quiet, close and fun for children.

What are your requests, if you don't mind me asking?

I've requested a lake view in either building 4, 5 or 6. We have stayed in the 50's section the last 2 times and I'd like to try another area.

I'm meeting my parents down there this year and I'll be travelling with my two youngest so I requested connecting rooms, ground floor(my mom has some mobility issues) and close to Classic Hall(once again for my mom). I'm up for anything except for a parking lot view!!

I've previously stayed in the 50's(building 2) and the 70's(building 6) sections and both were great. Although last time in the 50's section we were pretty far away which felt like a marathon away when I sprained my ankle(darned wedge flip-flops  ).

I loved where we were in Building 6. It was close to everything without having to walk really far.

51 days for me! So excited!

We are requesting either building 9, building 10, or building 5 lake side. And 3rd or 4th floor.

I really just want an upper floor, but have stayed in 90's and 50's and want something different.

I loved the 90's, though, and wouldn't be sad to get that again.

I just hated the 50's. Seemed so far out. But my son's LOVE the look of the bowling pool, so I wouldn't be heartbroken if we ended up there. Big thing is just NOT GROUND FLOOR!

17 days to go!!! Getting really excited!! Still wondering if someone can tell me about the room upgrades. I'm hearing ... flat screen TV, privacy curtain, new paint and bedspread and mattress and less space for storage in the dresser/entertainment center. I look forward to seeing the new look but wonder if I've heard everything. How is the new mattress?

I haven't actually seen them, but I've read a lot of posts about them. I hear they are great! :cool1: A lot of the posters like the privacy curtain most of all!

Personally, I'm just happy to have a new mattress!:worship: Last time we were there, we did not get a room with one of the new mattresses and I think ours had been used for a gymnastics event!:yay::yay::yay:

Pixie Dust for your trip!!! pixiedust:

What you're listing covers it!

Yes, flat screen TVs on top of new furniture that are shorter and narrower than the previous furniture. Privacy curtain for the sink area that also helps block light for those still sleeping while one person gets ready first. New blue paint on the interior walls, and I saw new paint on the exterior doors too. New bedspreads that are really, really thick. One thing you didn't mention - pretty sure the carpeting is new too.

Someone mentioned on another thread that you need to bring clips to keep the curtains closed because they don't stay closed all the way and anyone could peek in on you from the outside lol. Is this true?

Yes, we stayed in a renovated room in the 70's building 6 in August and that's what it had. The mattress was fine. It was comfortable but it wasn't like the Marriott Anchorage... no bed in a hotel has ever been so comfortable :cloud9:
the privacy curtain had a wand to pull it open and closed. It was pinch pleated drapery to be specific. The dresser did have less drawer and cubby space than the old ones, but it had a nice flat panel HDTV. The bedspread is just as itchy and boring as the old ones, just not as loud! The changes are subtle but an enhancement.

I didn't have a problem with that... but I had brought a lime green mickey head flag that I made, and I hung it on a spring tension rod in the window. It provided all the added privacy that we needed. It was a great idea. I also put my pins on it since my lanyard longago overflowed.

Not true they are made to close over one another so no problem. Years ago at the all stars the curtains were not made to close over one another so that may be where that came from.

Thanks! =) I'm glad they close because I don't want to be giving anyone a show at Disney hahaha :rotfl2:

Thanks to everybody who responded to my question. I'm thinking of taking one of those sweater cubbys that hang in the closet for extra storage since I'll be traveling with two teenage girls. I'm taking DD princess: and D'Neice to celebrate DD's 18th and upcoming high school graduation. Hoping for a great trip.

They over lap. I think the ones that were havingproblems are the divider curtains in tha sink area.

the upgrades are awesome, my only complaint - and this was something i knew would be an issue back in january when i got a sneak peak into the first refurbed rooms... but the dresser needs 6 drawers. this should not have been downgraded to 3 slightly longer drawers.

last month, with just my fiance and myself - the 3 drawers were barely enough for a 6 day trip between the two of us.

i cant imagine a family of 3 or 4 squeezing everything in. its safe to say someone will be living out of a suit case.

we love pop. we loved the upgrades. we LOVED the privacy curtain (especially me! since i was always awake waaaaaaay too early :)) cant wait to go back in a few years :) just thought anyone with larger parties going should be aware.

We were just there. I packed a ton of hangers that you get from the dry cleaners (thin and disposable) and hung up most of our shirts, pants, shorts, and left the drawers for underwear, socks, bathing suits, and kids' clothes. By doing that, it freed up a ton of room. I also used an over door shoe rack for all of our toiletries.
