Hi! I'm just beginning to plan my family's first trip to Disney World. I have heard such good things about Pop that I am pretty positive this is where we will stay. I have two questions:

Has anyone had any problems with bedbugs at Pop?

and What is the resort and the parks like the 2nd week of June?

I can answer the Bed Bugs !!Never had a problem and have stayed there 6 times .

Can't say about June never stayed there then.

Hey, we will be there the second week of June too! We went in the middle of June two years ago and it got pretty hot. We always got up for rope drop and then headed back to our resort about 1:00. We would go for a swim during the hot part of the day. This made it not so bad and the kids loved their swim time.
We are from TN also, and I really think the heat won't be that big of a deal for you!

No bed bugs. But they can happen anywhere. We have had the cleanest rooms at POP.

just booked the Pop for the 1st time we will be ther May 21-May 28 So excited never stayed on grounds. One of my buggest sellers on this resort and I hope it is still true it's own bus line we don't share with other resorts right??

Your right about the bus!! you'll love the POP, we are coming up to our 3rd stay quickly...gave DD option to stay at a Mod this time, but she chose POP, since it "feels like home"!!!

We have always done Pop, last year we decided to try the Caribbean beach Resort, don't get me wrong we loved it...but this year I think we are heading back to Pop again..you just cant beat it. I dont know what it is about it..its just lovely.

I didn't go through all of the posts in here, but am I correct that all of the rooms have now been refurbed with flatscreens and such? I'm trying to see if there's any building I'd like to request - we'll have a standard room and would rather be close to the parking lots than the food court building, and we're not too picky, but I was curious. Thanks!

I would add a request of 4th floor to the reservation. Since you are checking in so late some might recommend on line check in as those rooms are assigned and it is not as likely to be given to another guest - although that is always possible whenever a guest requests a specific location or room change at check-in.

Checking in late during a busy time can be difficult as you may get whatever room is left and that can often be the least popular location.

Have you read the first page of this thread to familiarize yourself with the resort? I would recommend doing so to give a feel for the property before arriving - it really does help.

I would like to add that you may want to consider calling POP up to 10 days prior to your arrival to put in a special request. They won't be able to do anything before then. Doing that along with on-line check-in should make it a lot easier to get what you want! Have fun!

Yep, I was planning to try the online checkin this time and see what happens... honestly, we're really not picky about where our room is - I'd like to try a different location than last time - we were in 90s before, and we'd maybe like to go for 50s, but it's not a huge deal. We'll have fun wherever! Hooray, it's getting closer!!!!!

Our first family trip in May myself, dh ds (11), dds (5,2). I was talking to one of my friends about POP which her family stayed last yr standard room. They love everything about POP from the food court, buses, pools, & etc. And the fact that they didn't spend that much time in the room. I was talking to my dh & we decided to change our hotel to POP from CBR b/c we probably want spend that much time in our room as well. I looked at wdw website & it only had the preferred room available. What is a good preferred section to request? I haven't read all the thread about POP. Can you tell me why you love POP so?
