Will be staying at POP for the first time in May. Booked a standard room. I won't be requesting anything in particular as we don't have any special needs/wants and I don't know the hotel at all so wouldn't know what to ask for. Checking in after 10pm on a Saturday night. Are there any real clunker rooms that we want to avoid? My only real concern is I prefer not to be on the 1st floor.

Since you are checking in that late, you may get what is left for that day. So I would at least make a request to be on an upper floor. That isn't to much to request.

Don't know of any "clunker" rooms (LOL) but if you really don't want to be stuck on the first floor I would call and add that request to your ressie. That way if others haven't requested anything that get there before you they may be nice and save an upper room for you.

Does anyone have a picture of what the shampoo bottles and soap at POP look like? I think I read somewhere that the soap has a Mickey Mouse face imprint and the shampoo bottles have Mickey on them as well?

I'm curious and don't want to wait 8 months to find out for myself!

I would add a request of 4th floor to the reservation. Since you are checking in so late some might recommend on line check in as those rooms are assigned and it is not as likely to be given to another guest - although that is always possible whenever a guest requests a specific location or room change at check-in.

Checking in late during a busy time can be difficult as you may get whatever room is left and that can often be the least popular location.

Have you read the first page of this thread to familiarize yourself with the resort? I would recommend doing so to give a feel for the property before arriving - it really does help.

Hippy Dippy Pool (Pop Century Resort) closed 2/14/11-3/11/11 for refurbishment. Guests may use the Bowling Pool and Computer Pool.

I have so much to do! UGH, but we are so excited to be going back.

Going to enjoy the music, a hot fudge sundae, the meatball sub, the gift shop (love this shop, one of the best on property).

I've never been there in June, so I can't help you there.

I've been to pop a dozen times or so and never have I seen a bed bug (and I check). They just got done with a complete refurb. New mattresses, furniture and carpets. I think you're safe!

Enjoy...Pop rocks. I will not go anywhere else.

I've been the second week in June, and I have to say it was FREEZING a few nights that week! It was in the 60's and 50's a few nights. There was only one day it was over 85. I'm quite positive this isn't the norm, but that was our experience in June. Crowds were pretty light, especially considering we were there for Gay Days AND Star Wars Weekend. It was a beautiful week though. I just prefer September/October.

That weather sounds MUCH better than here in NYC! I so wish I was planning on leaving for Disney next month instead of labor and delivery lol
