Hi Ladies, Can you believe it's almost here  I'm looking forward to meeting you and your families. We decided to take the ME to POP so we'll probably catch up with you then if not before hand in the Philly airport.

I keep telling myself that whatever weather Disney has during our week, it has to be better than what's going on here at home. However, I'm really praying for no rain :flower3:

We asked for connecting rooms in the 70's section. Don't know if I'd rather have 1st floor for the convenience with stroller or 4th floor for the quietness so I figure whatever they give us is what is meant to be.

I know its crazy how fast it is coming now. Even DH is finally starting to get excited. I can't wait to meet everyone as well it actually makes me feel less stressed to know I will know someone down there that has been there before so if I have questions I can come knocking. :) I am glad yous are taking ME..we are following you guys after we land cause I have NO idea where I am going. I agree we get what we get it is better than being in frezzing snowy PA for a week. Cool maybe we will be in the 70s together then:thumbsup2 I was back and forth on the 1st or 4th and DH finally said I am not lugging a stroller up steps or waiting for an elevator so 1st it was!

I never do online check in. At pop I don't think there is really a need to. They handel the flow of incoming guest way better than any moderate or deluxe we have stayed at.

Thanks thats what I heard. I think we are going to not do the online check in. I would rather be sure we get our requests met if possible.

Kinda silly questions...

we will arrive at resort somewhere around 9ish pm. What time does the gift shop close? I have been debating on ordering my dd her autograph book and lanyard early, but i think she would rather pick her own out.

Also, are the lanyards and autograph books the same at the resort as they are in the parks?

The shop is open from 6 am - midnight. They will have a couple to choose from - probably the most popular ones. The parks will have more.

I know you are right..I will take anything over this weather we have in PA now. My DH said as long as its 60 he is breaking out the shorts. I just am going to pack for anything and everything at this point. I am back and forth about online check in..some say you shouldn't do it if you have requests. We actually got a preferred room and requested 70s(buidling 10) ground floor. But would also be fine with 50s..just dont' think I want 60s. We just don't want to be facing a pool, especially if it won't be warm enough to be in it cause dd will drive us nuts. I want ground to cause I think it will be easier with a stroller.

Are you two on the same flight? If I remember correctly, I think I'm getting there before you girls....my flight leave Philly at 8:00 - I get in around 10:45 I think. We have to somehow make sure we meet up - at least for a hello! I always do online check in. This way we don't have to wait in line at check in. Every time I've gotten there, they have changed my room if I didn't like where they put me, so it's never been an issue.

In 2 hours - we'll be in the single digits!

Yes I believe we are on the same flight. We depart 1055 and get there 120 or something like that. I wanted to leave earlier but with dd it would be a nightmare getting here to the airport at like 5 in the morning. Oh well.

We def. need to meet up. I won't have computer access there so maybe I will send you my cell number. You are doing tusker house and ak on sunday still right?

Have you guys seen the new weather forecast??!!:thumbsup2 It looks amazing I believe:cool1:

Oh me and this online check in or not stuff is starting to drive DH crazy haha.

By the way ladies it is offically single digits...9 DAYS:cool1::banana::banana:

I'm hoping that's the case, but I'd feel better if I heard it from someone who had been there during a past refurb, you know?

I know the kiddie pool was just redone in the last year or so, so hopefully that means nothing needs to be done for it now.

We are offically booked! Only 1 night at Pop though. April 3rd. We have decided to go on a 3 night Disney Dream cruise 1st. Then back to Pop for 1 night and off to a Residence Inn for the 2 remaining nights. It wil lbe a different vacation for us, and a lot of different planning, but it will be fun and at least I get 1 night at Pop. I plan to take a bunch of pictures.

Holliedd...we are both on the same flight...see you at the airport :yay: we still have 8:15am Tusker House ADR on Sunday so hopefully we can all meet up at bus stop that morning. :grouphug: We are thinking we should be at bus stop by 7:15-7:25am.

The weather is definitely looking better

I know the nightmares about what could go wrong finally hit me ALL last night..we were in MK when we were supposed to be in AK and Peter Pan's Flight turned into a scary ride that terrified dd dh was going to the wrong rides and wouldn't listen to me :lmao: Yes I didn't get much sleep last night

Just look for the crazy little girl running around going crazy at the airport..she will be pulling her minnie suitcase and carrying her vera purple purse and prob playing her ds:thumbsup2 She is soo girly.

Yes my goal that morning is 700 cause our ADR is for 8 and I always aim early cause we are ALWAYS late to everything so hopefully this will change down in Disney.

77 Wed and Thrus compared to the 20 degree temps here :banana::worship:

I would be at the bus stop no later than 7:15. 7:00 would probably be best. Early morning buses don't run as frequently as they do closer to park opening. If you show up at 7:25 and have just missed the bus, you'll likely be standing there waiting for another one until almost 8:00, making you late for your ADR.

to everyone in single digits, have a great trip!!!

we are at 64 day!!!

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the advice. Thats what I figured. I want to actually be there before 7 I would rather be early than late.

Just got back from a stay at POP and really enjoyed it. My room was one of the furthest away from the Food Court and bus stop (building 2, 1950s), but the walk still wasn't that bad.

We tended to do early mornings, so the Food Court wasn't too packed at breakfast (except for the one morning we went later, which also was the Friday before MLK weekend, when crowds started picking up every where). Never had any other meal at the Food Court. We never had a problem with long waits for buses - though we probably stood about half the time.

My only (minor) annoyance was my original room allocation (building 8, 1990s). Not that the location itself was a problem. I was traveling with friends and our reservations were linked (my reservation noted that I was traveling with them; theirs noted that they were traveling with me). Since we are all adults, we didn't need connecting or even adjoining rooms, but were told that we should be able to be in the same building. They checked in the day before me and had a room in the 1950s. My original room was about as far away from them as possible, unless you are at a different hotel! After some calling around, I did end up in their building, but I was surprised with the original allocation.

Welcome back! Glad you had a nice trip and enjoyed POP. I am not surprised that your rooms were not together at first. If room assignments are now being done by computer, then there will be more errors like this one. Did you also make a request for rooms to be nearby?

Someone will likely jump in to say such things are not guaranteed, which would be true looking at it literally, but in reality, rooms should always be together when reservations are linked.:thumbsup2

50's bldg 2, poolside is one of my favorite locations. It is nice walk and so peaceful. :cloud9:

Thanks for taking the time to stop by with a review!:goodvibes

I was thinking the same thing. But maybe it is beacuse of the computer system doing the room assignments now.

It was no more than a couple of minutes. It really wasn't bad. The only time it might feel long is if you bring your mug to breakfast and then want to return it to your room before getting on the bus (so, you'd go back and forth). I just brought my mug with me (I carried a small backpack with me anyway). Also meant I could grab something to drink on my way back to the room at night. Really, it wasn't bad at all. I also overlooked the pool, but had not problem with noise (I was on the fourth floor, which may have helped).

We did request rooms together and were told that, though we were unlikely to get connecting rooms (being a group of adults), we would get rooms near each other. As I said, it was no big deal, it just seemed funny that we were actually placed as far as part as possible. We made no other requests, so being near each other shouldn't have been a hard thing to do.

Also, I had a connecting room (I think that they did as well), which means that one (or two) sets of connecting rooms were not being used as such.
