No Pop doesn't have Bell services. None of the Values do. But if worse comes to worse, they usually will get someone to help you.

The official answer is a big no. People get really nasty on some threads when someone even hints they may reuse one. But many people still do. I do know that the ones we got in March of 2009 are not the same as the current ones. They changed about mid 2009. They are almsot the same, but not exactly. Ours have the picture on the top half and the bottom is white, the new ones are a complet full picture on the whole cup.

I beleive the 80's and 90's were the smoking rooms right before they put the ban on smoking. I have read though, they they wreally went in and totally defumed the rooms.

No Bell Services? :confused3 that's weird! I guess Bell Services must have only helped us at SSR and OKW.

I'm getting new cups this time, but last trip, I saw all manner of cups being refilled at the Pop. Nobody said anything to anybody. Now... like I said, I use my own older cups to bring beer and/or wine to the pool because glass is not allowed. I use them all the time and travel with them in the car. If someone saw me with one, they'd have no idea if I had just refilled it at the food court or if it contained beer from my room. People don't say anything.

I stayed in the 90's building in April 2007 and our room wasn't a smoking room. They probably had smoking rooms designated in each decade. But i heard that they replaced and repainted those rooms after the ban.

.

i think i am confused now.

We were told that if we used ME that bell service will put our luggage in the room. (well we are not arriving til midnight so gotta collect our own anyways)

I am in a fridge swap--and was told it will be in bell services and they will deliver it to my room along with the groceries that were delivered earlier in the day.

If there is no Bell Services--how do i get ALL that stuff to the room?

thanks for doing a great job on the pop century thread. when dw sees it i think she will agee.

Well, one thing I know for sure. ME does get your luggage to your room at Pop. We took ME to Pop several times and our luggage ended up in our room. Guess that was the magic :wizard: part.

I have heard about the fridge swap too.... I know previous trip countdown threads talked about Bell Services having your fridge and I know they'll hold things for you. Maybe what the other poster meant is that Pop doesn't offer luggage pick up in your room. If they have airline luggage check-in at the Pop, then they HAVE to have Bell Services because they sort the luggage and get it to your room and when you check-in to leave the resort, they will hold your luggage.

Check out the first post in this thread under "services."

It's luggage services that holds your stuff. I'm not sure if luggage services puts your ME luggage to your room or if it's a whole other service that does that. They have special vehicles that have your luggae, so my guess it's another dept. that is in charge of that.

Here is a photo of the luggage services that brings your luggage from the airport to Pop:

Hi we are a family of six travelling from Australia. We arrive in Orlando int. airport at about 5am on a Sunday morning. My question is has anyone caught the ME at that time in the morning to POP? I am a little concerned that it will take for ever because there will not be as many buses at that time of the morning. We would of been travelling for over 24hrs by then with three little kids.....!!!!!!! and yes I have booked and paid for an extra day to make sure we can check straight into our rooms. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks my disney lovers.

We are booked for November 11th-20th!!! I have never been during that time of the year so what can I expect as far as weather....also we are driving for the first time and we requested building 3; away from the pool. This has always been a favorite area for us. BUT-as far as parking goes it looks like that might be a long walk from the parking lot. Any better suggestions for Pop room requests for someone driving...we will be taking our car to the parks and not using the bus. My husband is picky about the room and wants a "quiet area," too. Thanks for any help you can offer!

The weather is usually pretty nice. When I say nice I'm talking temps anywhere from 70 to 80 and with little rain. I did wear a lightweight jacket in the evenings if I got chilly. We went the week after Thanksgiving so not exactly the week you're going but close.

We've driven to Disney twice and both times we were in the 50s section. The best room for us was in the Jukebox building, 4th floor, Lakeview. We could see towards the lake right from our window but when you stepped outside the door and turned to the right you could view the fireworks at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. All the buildings are shaped like Ts and we were 4 or 5 doors down from the end of the longest line. We just walked down the bowling pin and took a short walk to the second 50s parking lot. See map in post above from EpcotBill.

It was a little bit longer walk to the food court but a very short walk from our van to our room. It's all about what matters to you.

the way it was explained to me-- ME knows how many people are coming in at any given time.

So if there are a few people arriving at 5am-- even 6am the wait should not be that long.

My concern was the midnight arrival.

Have yourself mentally prepared for a wait, just in case. On our trip a few weeks ago, our flight was delayed by two hours. We arrived at not quite 1 a.m. and sat on the ME bus at MCO for 45 minutes. There were already people on the bus when we got on it, so obviously their wait was even longer. The ME driver said not one word to us when he got on. Didn't welcome us, didn't tell us what resorts he would be stopping at - not a word. When the movie was turned on, we had to read along, because the sound was barely on. Driving under the magical Disney arch in the middle of the night, weary travelers with sleeping kids, a late flight, a long wait, and an unmagical bus driver - it's the first time I have not taken a picture of the arch in all our trips. :sad2: We were very glad to be the first stop. :upsidedow

The next ten days were wonderful, as usual, but that start was a bummer. I would just go in prepared to have to sit a while, and then if you don't, it'll be a good thing. :)

I have alwasy had good luck with ME. The airlines that is another story.

That is the only time we have ever had a less than good experience. Every other time (and we go 3-5 times a year), we've had just a short wait on the bus, and the driver has at least welcomed us and told us what resorts we'd be going to and in what order. Some make a bigger deal than others about going under the arch - just depends on their individual personalities. This trip was the exception, and I am hoping it was just a one time thing.

We have been lucky - this is the only time we have ever had airline delays, too. We just got hit with the double whammy this trip!

Sorry if that is all a little off topic. After we got there, we had ten wonderful days at Pop. :)

Thank you for letting me know this, like you said to be mentally prepared and then if it is better it will be a nice surprise:goodvibes. Honestly I think the kids will just be sleeping anyway???? I HOPE:worship:If not they will be having melt downs:sad1:due to being so tired:scared1:. I guess it will just be a case of wait and see. If the kids start losing it I guess I could always politely ask the bus driver when we would be leaving and explain our situation:lovestruc:lovestruc. So long as I know the bus will be there that is the main thing at least we will be sitting on the bus waiting and not at the airport waiting for the bus I hope:scared1:

We just called today to indicate our room preferences, and to confirm some other special issues our family has to deal with

The lady on the phone was so sweet and was panicking because they couldnt find our reservation!!! Turns out because of my hyphenated last name, it has to be entered in with an apostrophe... few was breaking into a sweat there!!

She complimented DW on being so patient (cause she couldn't find our reservation!!!)

Connecting rooms, Building 4 or 5, Top Floor Lake view :)

She told us that that area would be so far away from everything, most people ask to be closer to the pools/Century Hall. We laughed and just said the most important thing is for us to be together.. the rest is just gravy and she asked if it was Brown or White Gravy. :rotfl:

And i think that's it.. we are ready to go... just 7 more sleeps!!! All packed, picking up the Car Decals on Monday.... how will i get though this week!?!??!! :woohoo:

Not sure if you know this, but the ME bus drivers are not Walt Disney World employees - they're employees of Mears.

We've used it for the last 3 years and have enjoyed the stress free start to the trip. The drivers were funny - one was telling jokes alot of the time. Another was telling s about the impact of the last hurricane as he drove by homes with blue tarps on the roofs. :thumbsup2:cool1:
