Yes! We had a great time. We loved POP and didn't want to leave. Our room was in a great location, close to everything but quiet.

Hi Everybody--going to be at Pop in mid August...thinking about renting a fridge. What's the current cost? Can I rent it for only some of the days of my reservation, or is it all or nothing? Can anyone confirm the size? Is there a freezer compartment? Worth it for water, milk, juice boxes, yogurt, etc...?

Thanks!!

I'd also like to here thoughts on this as well, well be there soon and a family of 4 for 16 nights is a whole lotta clothes....

We were there in October and I decided then that I didn't like the dressers. When we scheduled our June trip I decided to take action.

I don't like the new dressers. 3 drawers for 5 people for 12 nights just doesn't work! There a empty spaces where drawers could go so I went to the Dollar store and bought 4 inexpensive fabric pop-up cubes. They are 9x9 square and 8" high. They fit perfectly doubled up (one in front of each other). 2 of my kids had one for socks and underwear, i used one for socks and underwear, and the 4th one held all the extras (wipes, laundrysoap, etc.) There were still 2 openings on the dresser but they were alot shorter in height. We stored diapers in there. Otherwise they were fairly useless.

We also had a hanging clothes bag for dirty laundry and I did laundry half way through. ($2 to wash and $2 to dry).

My husband had one drawer, I had one drawer, which I shared with the 18month old (tight fit) and the 3rd drawer was for our PJ's and blankies etc. so housekeeping wouldn't touch them.

We also take 2 Pop up file folder boxes from Office Depot. They fold flat in the suitcases. One is for Food and the other is for papergoods, ziplocs and extra food etc. These sit on the shelf in the closet.

I have a Shoe organizer which straps on the closet rod. This isn't the one with pockets but rather shelves. One is for sunscreen, one for hairbrushes and hairspray, two were MINE, one is for the camera chargers when we aren't using them, one was the kids toothbrushes etc. The extra ones at the bottom get the shoes that don't get worn everyday (dress up Princess sandals etc.)

I also used the luggage rack to hold one suitcase near the window. My 2 older kids (5 & 8) used this as their "drawer" The shoes we wore daily went underneath.

2 car seats were under the sink and the unused empty suitcases were lined up against the bathroom wall and stacked on the top shelf of the closet. We had 5 and 2 carry-ons.

I use my carry-on as a nightstand next to the door. I use the front pockets to store my book, reading light, glasses, chapstick and lotion etc.

I think that is it. I did take a few photos which I will try and post later this week.

October was a organization disaster because of lack of drawers/storage. I couldn't find anything. I stayed up after everyone went to bed just trying to find clothes for the morning etc. June was much better. I think my husband thought I was loco at first but I think he appreciated having a spot for everything as well.

They did add a coatrack which is nice. We didn't turn on the fancy new flatscreen even once! I would rather have the storage than the TV.:rotfl2:

Would love to see your photos! Even tho 2 of my kids will be in my mom's room next door, I will need room for all of our stuff for our family of 6. I'm very disappointed that they took away that big entertainment center stand. I had stuff all over that!!!:scared1:

Were going for 10 days and we have 4 people and this is my nighmare. LOL Last year was tough for 8 days.

So - every room at pop has a window correct? I've been trying to skim through this entire thread lol so I do not ask questions that have already been asked. And no decorating the door, correct?

:cool2:

5 people in a Pop room?!? Goodness! Comfortable for 2-3 but 5 seems like you'd be packed in like sardines.

I totally agree. 2 adults, 8yr, 5yr and 18 month old. My husband says that once the baby turns 3 we can't stay there so he is milking it for all it is worth! The problem is that the AP people keep sending out deals that he can't resist.

No, you need to put a better spin on it! When the youngest turns 3, you need to get 2 CONNECTING rooms at Pop, and put the kids in one and have some PRIVACY. :lovestruc :rolleyes1

I am pretty sure the price is still $10 a day, not sure if you have to do it for the whole time you are there, most likely though.

It is like a dorm fridge, very small. It will hold several bottles of water, juice, soda, stuff like that. Not sure if you could fit a gallon of milk in there. Never tried it.
They do not get cold enough to freeze anything, not sure if there is a compartment or not.
Not alot of room, but as I said room enough for about 8-10 bottles of water.

I scanned a couple pages and could not find this information so I was hoping some recent returnees might be able to help. Does anyone remember what the milk prices were at POP either in the store or in the food court? I am guessing the size was a 1/2 gallon????

Thanks!

Dana

Yes. Every room has a window. As far as decorating the doors..I believe you can use magnets on them..nothing adhesive. :)

I know the notation about this in Post #1 under Food/Dining is outdated, but if no one else posts recent prices, it will give you an idea.

I see you're relatively new to the DIS, so if you haven't done so already, check out Posts 1 & 2. They have loads of info for Pop Century! :)

From Post #1
  • half gallons of cow's milk are available for purchase in the Food Court in fat free, 1%, and whole milk varieties; as of January 2008, the price was $2.99

If anyone is aware of the price changing or can validate it's the same, let me know, and I'll update Post #1 with the date and/or price. Thanks!!

Thanks! I have read several pages of the "older" posts and they have been really helpful - especially with room locations. I saw the milk prices from 2008 and was happily surprised that they are still the same prices!

We won't have a car so I am trying to decide if we really need to get groceries delivered or if we could get by bringing cereal, etc. with us and buying some items at the hotel. With free dining :woohoo:, I really am only planning to eat breakfast in the room. Plus we will need to bring snacks with us anyway since DS has peanut/tree nut allergy.

Thanks again!

Ok my POP peeps :goodvibes I need your help!!

I am at work so I can't really look back in the thread right...so forgive me for probably asking something that has already been answered :confused3

We are going to WDW and staying at POP end of September this year. Every other time I have gone it has been with family and I have actually had a room all alone. This time its me and the wonderful (pooh sized and well goofy tall) boyfriend :rotfl:

I know we are not going to fit into a double bed together and be comfy...and i know it is RARE to get a king bed at POP. we have requested it and will request again at check out. But just planning ahead...is it possible to push the beds together(i havent been since renovations) but I am thinking that its no from memory ....just needed some help thanks :goodvibes

No, the beds are stationary. Much luck and magic in securing your king bed!!
