This thread has got me so excited to stay at POP! I think I will get some window clings and decorate since we are going in December! Of course, I will need a lime green Mickey head!

We were at POP this past December and some of the window displays were amazing! We loved looking at them on the way to our room every night:santa:. Lots of lights, window clings, and many displays of stuffed Disney friends with holiday outfits. Mousekeeping even left quite a few towel Christmas Trees. We found POP to be very festive for the Holiday Season! We didn't decorate our window, but I did pack a little table top tree for the table in our room. :)

I'm staying at Pop in late October on a solo trip :) It'll be my second time staying there. The last time was in January 2005. We stayed in the 50s, which made my dad happy, since he was born at the tail end of the 50s. I can't wait to go :teeth:

Thanks everyone. It does look like a lot of fun...especially with DD4 and DS3. I have to admit I was a little worried that it would not be very nice since it was a value. But than again you are talking to someone who was disappointed to go while Christmas decorations were there. I was really hoping our first visit would be more "normal" since we have no idea if we will ever be back again. I am finding the Chirstmas decorations and POP are growing on me. Everyone seems to like to go that time of year and POP is sounding awesome!

Hey Tinker_Tam - I think we're both going at the same time on our first trip. I'll see you there. :cool1:

I too was hesitant about staying at a value, but these pictures are getting me excited. I love the fact there is the lake (we love the water). Even with all the big icons it looks peaceful and relaxing w/ the lake and landcaping.
Kids are gonna love it I think.

Even though we are not going around a holiday (Sep 11-21) we will be celebrating my birthday and our anniversary, I plan on decorating our window. We have seen this before and it looks like a fun thing to do. This is our 5th trip over 6 years and we are both excited. We stayed at POP in 06 and enjoyed the icons around the resort. Hurry up Sep and get here.

I have decorated my window at Pop many times !!A big PLUS is makes your room easy to find!!:lmao:

Just a FYI free dining has been extended threw December with some black out dates. So everyone staying at pop get your free dining while you can. The free dining for us alwasy works out better than the room discount.

Is this thru a PIN or general public?

Ok my POP peeps :goodvibes I need your help!!

I am at work so I can't really look back in the thread right...so forgive me for probably asking something that has already been answered :confused3

We are going to WDW and staying at POP end of September this year. Every other time I have gone it has been with family and I have actually had a room all alone. This time its me and the wonderful (pooh sized and well goofy tall) boyfriend :rotfl:

I know we are not going to fit into a double bed together and be comfy...and i know it is RARE to get a king bed at POP. we have requested it and will request again at check out. But just planning ahead...is it possible to push the beds together(i havent been since renovations) but I am thinking that its no from memory ....just needed some help thanks :goodvibes

Not even half of the resort has been refurbed, so you're not missing too much. :) You're correct though. :upsidedow

From Post #1:
  • Beds are on permanent pedestals, so they cannot be moved nor will items get lost under the bed. There is one exception to the permanent pedestals. The disABILITY/accessible rooms have beds that do in fact move.

ACK HELP!

We are planing our second trip to Disney for Feb 5, 2011- Feb 12, 2011 and really wanted to try out the Pop (and save some money) with our two little ones, 4 yo Ds and 2 yo Dd

I just found out that there is a National Dance competition Feb 5-6 and a Cheerleading competition from 11-13

Dont the groups normally stay at the Values?!?!?!

How will this affect the crowds at the resort (and in park)

Thanks!

They usually (USUALLY) stay at the All Stars, with some at Moderates.
No guarentee they won't be there.

We were with a bunch of sports groups at All Star Sports last year, and the only bad thing was one night was really noisy. They must have been tired the other nights. They were gone early in the morning too, so they weren't around the resort all day.

I try to avoid them, but I think Pop is your best bet to do that!

Origianlly I was a little disappointed that all we could afford for our family was POP but I am loving all this positive feedback. I am sure the kids will love it no matter where we are...and I am sure DD4 will LOVE the pools...lets just hope it is nice enough to go swimming while we are there. I will be so unhappy if it is not nice enough to get in at least one day. It will be really tough though if the only nice day is BBB day. We have already talked about no pool that day.

You will love it. My kids LOVE Pop and are 12 & 18 now!

We have just switched our ressies from CSR to Pop for 9/4-9/11. Originally, I was against the switch, as I thought I wouldn't be happy at a value, but after reading all the great reviews, and seeing a lot of pics, I think we made the right choice!

DW and DD both wanted to stay here, but I wasn't too sure. Then, DW called Disney, and got the price for Pop, and I must say, I jumped on board pretty quick after that!

We have stayed at POFQ and AKL before, and I really liked them both, but I really didn't see how AKL was worth so much more $$ than a mod, so I think I'll probably feel the same about Pop compared to a mod.

We got 7 nights stay and 7 day base tickets with the free QSDP for $1389.00. I couldn't believe we were able to stay on site at such a good price.

Thanks to everyone on here who has posted such good info and pics. It really eased my mind about the switch.

Come on September!

We upgrade to a mod this trip also for a little large room. but I had to listen to dd about wanting to go back to pop. We really liked it there but we are going for 10 days so I thought the extra space would be good. But I called and changed back.

Our stay is 9 nights 10 myw base ticket and the free qsdp for 2 adults one child and one infant for 1675.00. It saved me around 675.00 we are going to rent a fridge so that will be another 100.00. So we are going to get beverges from garden grocer. No need for food since I can't even figure out how we are going to eat 54 snacks. LOL

We were in 6440 the 23rd-30th! We loved our room too and could see fireworks one night, but not sure from where on that side.
