What is the difference in the new mugs. I heard someone else say they were different now too. Can you post a pic?

They had just changed them when I was there 4th of July weeked...

I can't wait to get a new one this weekend!!!! I'm doing my 5 day dance...woohoo:cheer2:

This will be my first stay at Pop or any Value. I've never done a refillable mug before (seems like it might be easier/more useful at a Food Court resort). I'm trying to figure if it makes sense to get one?

We'll have a coffee maker and coffee in our room. I wouldn't bring it with to the parks. I love a Diet Pepsi (but will make do with Diet Coke) with lunch, but that's included in the free DDP. I have 2 little ones so we are playing an afternoon return to the resort by ear. I :lovestruc Iced Tea, but am a snob and only like fresh brewed, not fountain. It might be nice to have a cool beverage when we return in the evening (although we have a fridge I'm planning on using it more for milk for the kids/my coffee), but is it worth it for that?

Oh great and mighty Mug Drinkers, please advise!

Hello fellow Pepsi Lover! I make do w/ Diet Coke in the parks but I order diet pepsi for our room. We buy mugs every year. The main reason being we use them every morning for our coffee at home. It keeps the Magic alive for us. For that reason alone I'd say buy them. Second it's nice if you pop in to the food court while swimming and get drinks. Third you can always grab a bottle of water as your beverage and fill your mug w/ your drink of choice. then you'd have a bottle of water for the parks. And Fourth you'd have a mug for your drinks in your room. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful trip.

Ok I know this has been asked and answered so please bare w/ me. I never paid to much attention to the internet access discussions as DH said NO NO NO to bringing laptop. However now that he's found out that DD needs internet access for some homework we are bringing our laptop. What's the question right... I know you have to pay $10 for 24 hours to hook up to the cable interent. I was wondering can I hook up to the phone and use dial up for free? I'm not a big computer person as you can tell. I know how to turn it on and get to where I want that's about it. Looking for options rather than paying $10 a day for service. Thanks

This is from Mousesavers.com. You need a local dial-up number for your internet provider. If she needs to get on once per day, you could get 2 days out of your $10 charge by having her get on at 8pm one day and 7 pm the next day - since it is within 24 hours you only pay one $10 charge. You could cut your weekly cost in half by planning it out like that.

Dial-Up Access with a Laptop

All of Disney's resorts have data ports on the phones. If you want to access the Internet from your hotel room using the data port, you'll need a dial-up account. There is no charge for calls to local numbers.

Hi everyone, this is my very first post and I am so excited to be planning my very first Disney vacation at POP. The information in this thread has been such an incredible help in deciding which resort to choose, I know I have made the right choice -- I don't know how I'm going to be able to get through the next 7 months ... I'm so excited!!!!:banana::banana:

Thanks for the help. One more quick question. How do they charge you for the access? Is it somehting they just tack onto our room charges daily or is it something I have to physically pay for everytime? Thanks

We have never stayed at a Value Resort before but if we want to go, we've got to do what we've got to do. We are always at the park anyway.

I think I've got everything. Let me know if I'm missing something?

-Vanity curtain & rod (made on w/ Mickey heads w/ our names)
-Order 2 Garden Grocer
-hairdryer (Do they have one inroom?)
-planning on calling guest services for iron when we get there
-hanging 6 hole cubby & clothes pins

They do have a hair dryer. But I have very very short hair and the hair dryer in the room is bad. This trip I will bring my own.

We've never gotten one before this trip, but we loved it. I would get Dh a coffee in the morning when I went to get myself some breakfast (pregnant, need I say more? LOL) and then he'd walk down and grab a diet coke at night before bed.
We used our drinks in our meals to get what we needed for the meal, or a water for the parks, and didn't have to use snack credits for drinks.
Look up how much a drink would be, and divide it into the cost of the mug, and you might find it's a good value. :thumbsup2

There are irons and hairdryers already in the rooms. A lot of people don't like the hairdryers, as they are not very powerful.

If you plan on doing laundry, don't forget quarters and detergent, and something to haul it back and forth. It's $2 a load for both washer and dryer.

Otherwise, you sound good!

hairdryer and iron/ironing board will be in the room already. The hairdryer isn't very powerful...I bring my own.

You have to have charging privileges on your KTTW card (they will add the fee onto your "bill")

You actually don't have to request the iron... each room comes with one.

Like the others said the dryer is very weak, and their is irons in the room already.

Thanks for the info. Happy 40th B-day w/ Mickey. I will celebrate 34 on Oct 2nd w/ Mickey.

Couldn't ask for a better b-day gift w/ the family.

You all are so helpful & quick too.

Do you really need to request a room? We don't mind walking, but we don't want to be last on the bus all of the time.

Looks like a lot of you are leaving soon too.

You don't have to request a certain room unless there is a specific area you want to be in. I have never put in a room request and have always gotten a room that I have been pleased with. None of the rooms are very far from the bus stop. One year we had a room in the 90's and I didn't find it very far at all to the bus stop (and it was nice and quiet there). Have a wonderful trip!!!

Going to Disney for the first time in just over 1 more week and will be staying at the POP....

are you able to buy bananas or yogurt in the food court? I'm so torn about placing an order w/ the Garden Grocer. We'll have a fridge along w/ a coffee maker in the room and we're on the DDP. We'll be having breakfast out 2 mornings but the other 5 we'll be eating in the room. I think in the parks we'll be getting water from CS places but will need stuff to drink while taking our afternoon rests....refillable mug? water/soda from GG? ugh, I just don't know. I wish someone would do the little things for me. I've spent months planning all the big stuff....resort, flights, ADRS, which parks on which days. All that I can handle. Whether to buy a mug and/or order from GG has me stumped! :rotfl:

You'll love it . I do both. I order from wegoshop and I also get mugs. This time they are free for us as we are on the DxDDP. I would ask yourself how often you will fill the mug. If it's 5x's or more than it's worth it. We use ours at home every morning. It's our souvie for the trip!

Yes you can get bananas and yogurt at the resort. It would save you time if you just had it all in the room. Plus it wouldn't be much more even w/ the delivery cost seeing you would be paying Disney prices at the resort. Have a wondeful trip. We'll be there too!!!:dance3: We arrive in 8 days :woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:

Yet another question...

I was wondering for all that have strung lights in their windows... Did you need just one strand of 100 or two? TIA
