I have my Mickey Heads from home depot. What kind of things do you do with them? I was thinking of sticking them on our door and window, I did read once about someone putting them on their door and hanging a pen or marker and letting people sign them. What do you do with them?

I always have one on my lanyard and I also decorate my windows I've used all different colors of MHs for that depending on th theme !!! I also have a green MH magnet for the door !!

Hey there....we just got back yesterday from there. :sad1: POP does indeed still have the Turkey Ciabatta Sandwich. I never got the chance to have it for a meal. :headache: However, it looked super yummy!

Thanks for your response. You and the other poster who said the sandwich was still there in June made my day! :rotfl:

Can't wait to be there in 28 days!

We have requested a preferred room location. However, where are they? Are they only in the 60's section. We are thinking of requesting the 60's building 4th floor. Any suggestions? We want to be as close as we can to the main building and buses. Thanks for your input. :goodvibes

We will be going to POP in August and will ONLY be doing carryon bags (1 per person). I am assuming that they sell sunscreen in the Everything POP store at the resort. I have looked in the stores for sunscreen in 3 oz. containers (since that is the size allowed in carryons) and all I could find was Aveeno and Neutrogena both 3 oz. costing $8.99. A bit pricey! Would it just be better and cheaper for me to buy it when I get there. Anyone ever dealt with this before and know if they carry HIGH SPF's (45 or higher) at a good price (or is everything in the store way expensive?)

Comments, ideas??? Thanks!

I got some of the clear 3 oz containers from Target for DD to take to camp. I didn't want to send full bottles because she was only going to be gone for a few days. Anyway, I just filled one of those with sunscreen. They had 2 packs of 8oz banana boat for 7.99. So, thats .50/oz. If you bought a clear container, it would cost a total of 2.50 for your 3 oz, plus you'd still have 13 oz waiting at home for you and you didn't spend any more than you would have on the prepackages ones.

And since each person can bring as many 3 oz bottles as you can fit in a quart sized baggie, you can end up fitting a lot of sunscreen in there with you. They do sell sunscreen at the hotel, very expensive

Carmie3377 and Cheap Traveler - thank you for the suggestions. My one concern is if the bottle is not clearly marked 3 ounces then how does the TSA know that is what is in it. My husband is convinced (because he travels for business a lot) that if the bottle is CLEARLY not marked 3 oz. on it (printed on it somewhere) then the TSA could just throw it out. Do either of you know if the bottles that are clear that you can buy at Target or other stores are marked as showing 3 oz. And if not have either of you had the experience of taking these clear bottles through an airport in your carryon and not having an issue with it.

And I agree that the sunscreen down at the Pop Century probably is major expensive - that is why I am giving myself enough time to solve the problem before I go.

Thanks!

All of my carry on 3oz. or smaller bottles do not have labels on them, they are all clear. I have never had a problem with them going thru security. But on another note some of the coppertone sunscreens come with a small travel size one attached, and they also have small ones for sale. I have found these at WalMart, here is the link, maybe your local store will have them, good luck...

Someone told me last weekend about sunscreen wipes. Have you heard of or seen those anywhere? That'd solve delimma.

DD just checked the containers from Target and she said they are clearly marked "3 oz". I checked the TSA website and it states that each bottle must be 3 oz or smaller but it says nothing about it needing to be in the original container. I always check our liquids so I do not have first hand experience with bringing unmarked 3 oz containers on carryons. However, I have seen kits sold by places like Bed Bath & Beyond that have several clear containers in a qt size bag and it says something like "great for carryons!"

I wish I had a definite answer for you as far as them needing to be in original containers but I don't. I just figured with what I saw in stores with all the 3oz containers they were marketing towards customers that like to stick with carryons. Hopefully, someone with first hand experience will chime in :goodvibes

Thank you all for the replies. Now just for the record it is not me that is "spazing" out about this. It is my "engineer" husband who is a Mr. By The Book person. I have seen those kits with the clear bottles all over the place and they all advertise that they are for carryons. But heaven help us if I am wrong and my husband gets to tell me "I told you so" on the whole flight down to Disney. Yikes! I will check out Target and if they are labelled 3 oz. then there shouldn't be an issue. That way I will just fill a bunch of them up with the sunscreen I already have. I am just mad because I just bought 2 aerosol cans of a new continuous spray sunscreen that I was going to take before we decided to just do carryons. And I know that 6 oz. of aerosol is a DEFINITE no-no. I am not sure what they think I am going to do with spray sunscreen on a plane??????? I will also check on the sunscreen wipes - haven't seen them but we have all the stores here in Rochester (Target, WalMart, K-Mart, etc.) so I can check around. I appreciate all the help you have given me and I am sure that it will work out.

I also have not been able to find the sunscreen wipes ANYWHERE! I did buy a couple of 3 oz clear (and blue) bottles from target and walmart, and they were clearly marked 3oz on the bottle. The blue one from target was really cute, had a squirt top and easy to squeeze. Yes, I get all excited about travel bottles:rotfl:
In my mind, it is one step closer to Disney.

I figure the worst that can happen, if they reject your bottles, is you have to buy when you get there. But most likely, it won't happen

I didn't even think about sunscreen and the 3 oz rule! ARG! Off to Amazon as well too now......

(We're doing only carry-ons as well)

You can ask these type of questions on the transportation board too, and they always have the answers. I asked alot before our trips and usually got fast replies. They helped me so much.

A tip on the bottles: it does help if they're labeled. I have a perfume that's 1.7oz, but the bottle is shaped funny, so it looks like a lot more. I'd say 9/10 times it goes through security it gets pulled and they check the bottom for the # of ounces. So if it's borderline, I have seen them check. And if it helps momfor2kids, if you're talking Rochester, NY...that's where I fly from!

For sunscreen, it helps to have family in FL you're meeting up with ;) My brother is meeting me for my trip in August and I told him that his job is to bring the ponchos that we have from our past year's trips and sunscreen. Hopefully he can handle that!! :lmao:

So glad I'm driving this time, lol! I'm starting to panic now that we are leaving in 23 days - OMG, I've got so much to do to get ready. I'm excited but nervous. This is new for me, I'm used to being so excited that I want it to be here yesterday - this time I'm actually wanting it to go slow. 3 weeks from this Thursday night we leave though....it's coming quick.

More sunscreen comments !! I pick up trial sizes all the time an have both packed gull size in suitcases going on the plan and shipped to Pop!! This way I had Trial sizes with me and either a package waiting or one coming in the suitcase !!

Unfortunately, the 3oz rule and our desire for the spray sunscreen is what convinced me that we are going to have to check a bag. It's just DS16 and I, and we're only going for 6 days, so I figured we might be able to get by with just carryons (and doing laundry once mid-trip). But once I realized we'd have to do the cream sunscreen (instead of the aerosol), and use up most of that quart bag with them for each of us, I decided it was worth the $15 to check a bag and have more room. Probably even buying one bottle of it there would make up that difference (between buying store brand at Walgreens or whatever before we left). We're not renting a car, so would be stuck paying Disney prices!

That said, I have found several tubes of different brands of cream sunscreen that come in 3 oz (labeled) containers. I plan to bring one in each of our quart bags, just in case they lose our bag - to give us a chance to find it somewhere, or to buy more. Should at least last the first couple days if necessary.
