I saw something about a fire? at Pop in this thread, maybe back in Feb or March? I was wondering if anyone had any more info? What building?

I tried but the phone isn't working So my mom and I went to the lobby and find another room! But it is fulled up and stay the room! and no one came and fix the tv and the phone! So! for my birthday we are going to stay in All-Star Movies! Oh! one more thing he speaking chinesse! and Our family can't speak chinesse!

Was the person you spoke to the manager? Was there someone else you could have spoken to? Did Disney move you to All-Star Movies or are you doing this on your own? I hope you're not paying for an extra room.

I'm actually looking forward to the sweet tea :) The frozen cokes were good, but I can get one at Target or Burger King if I really want one, so sweet tea will suit me just fine.

Me too! I love sweet tea, so I can't wait. My DD will miss the frozen cokes as she thought they were milk shakes last year. :rotfl:

Hey, whats the deal with the AC? I heard someone say guests could not control it, like in other Disney hotels. Personally, I like to have a cold room. So whats going on with that? Did I hear correctly?

My understanding from reading elsewhere on this thread is that the AC is motion-activated (ie, there is a motion sensor in the room so that the HVAC only kicks in when someone is in the room). One suggestion was to purchase a balloon and put it by the vent to trick the sensor. The green part of me applauds the effort at conservation, but lord knows I don't want to come home late to a hot room (and for us Seattlites, anything over 75 is hot!)

HI!

We had a thermostat in our room and we could control the temperature ourselves... we found that it worked well and our room was always as cool as we wanted it!

Hi all- I am just back from 6 days at Pop. We had 2 connecting rooms on the first floor, in the 50's, backside by the lake. I haven't been to the Pop since 2004 and had never even seen this area before! It was a lovely location and I felt sorry for the people poolside cause they powerwashed most mornings. I checked in on line requesting first floor and connecting rooms, got just what I asked for. We arrived around 11 AM and both rooms were ready. The kiddie pool was still closed Friday, although they worked on it most of the day.

I have to say I was worried before I left that I would be disappointed as I had stayed at PO the last 2 years and loved it. I was surprised that Pop was just as nice, just in a different way. Everything was closer at Pop compared to the looong walk from the mansion rooms. The buses were great and we never waited more that 10 minutes. I had a double stroller and never had a problem finding room on the bus. This was actually the best bus services I have had in the last 7 years at various resorts at Disney. The kids loved the pools, playgrounds, and Goofy squiters. The food is the same everywhere. The shrimp lo mein was really good. I did a fridge swap and they delivered it to the room about 10 minutes after I called. The rooms were both cleaned and smelled of bleach, which made me think they had been cleaned! No mold in the shower like I have read about. It was always cold in the room and I propped the door open quite a bit with the stroller.

The down side is my little one got croup and cried and coughed the whole time. Sorry to the neighbors that heard us all night long! Also sorry I ran the tub for steam at 3 AM!! I had read on here about the urgent care so we made a trip. Very handy if you need it. They come pick you up in a van and they have car seats. Took my insurance and drove us back to the resort.

All in all, a good trip and a good resort to stay in. Hopefully next time I will get to leave the room. :)

Do you have a link to the thread about Urgent Care? My DD got sick on one of our trips and luckily we had a rental car to take her to a CVS Minute Clinic. Not sure if we are renting a car this time, but one reason would be the "what if" since we have a 3 year old and a 8 month old.

Which year building were you in?

Yes, I would love that since we are usually in our room early due to the ages of our kids.

Thank you for your review. I hope your little one is feeling better. I'm glad the urgent care worked so nicely for you. What an excellent service.

I just had my third stay at Pop this month and loved it !!I think the mods ad the deluxes are to spread out !! I like everything close like at Pop !! I was on the 1st floor 50's close to he pool and the lake !! It was quiet and just far enuff away that the power spraying was't a problem in the morning !! I too noticed NO slushies , but as I don't like them it didn't matter to me !! I did try the shrimplo mein and didn't really like it to much , the one atAK was much better !! One night I had a chef's special shrimp flatbread that was absolutely delish!!!!I had the carrot cake and the Tyedye cheesecake too!!Yummy!! A CM told me you can get the side salad as a dessert item as well as a snack on the DDP!

Does some one have a pic of the new tea machines? Do they have hot herbal tea as well?

Hello POPers!

I have a question regarding the bathroom door. How thick is it? I brought an over the door shoe holder when I went in Dec 2008 but the metal over the door hooks were to narrow. My DH had to hang the holder off of the mirror. I would like to make some new hooks for the shoe holder but am not sure how wide to make them hence me needing to know the thickness of the bathroom door.

MY DD twisted her knee last summer and I went to the concierge desk and they gave me all the information for all the local hospitals, the local clinics and the pick up services.. no worries... they were very resourceful. I had my own car as well but many options to help you out if you don't. :goodvibes
