Our family can't hardly wait to stay in POP in May! Oh! One more thing does Everything POP has sell Bolt on DVD so tell me! So i can buy it! in Everything POP!

I thought you were going in March?

I would assume that they sell the current DVD's out, but I honestly never paid attention. I would also assume they ask top price for them. You might be better off to buy it at Target, where they usually discount DVD's when the yfirst come out. I think the Disney Store usually sells most of theri DVD's for @5, and I can get the same thing at Target for like $15-17.

My mom change the reservation to May! because it is cheaper in May!

How soon would I be able to find out where our room will be? Can I call POP now and they tell us? We didn't make any special requests other than booking a preferred room.

Yeah...that makes sense. We're January travelers so sweating isn't really an issue for us.

I loved going in Jan/Feb. :goodvibes

They won't get the assignments until I think 5 days out.
Don't think they will tell which room till you arrive, though.

Rooms are assigned about 3-5 days prior to arrival, but guests will not be able to know their room location until check-in. Many times another guest will request a different location and all rooms are technically still available until the keys are made at the front desk at check-in (unless blocked by Special Needs for medical reasons).

If you are not happy with the room they show you on the map, then ask if they might find a room in the area you hoped for. :) The CM's are terrific at POP. :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful trip!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

So we were booked at POFQ and decided to change to POP for our honeymoon. We both love the theming of POP more than any of the moderates. It seems more Disney. We had originally picked a moderate because we could pay more and be guaranteed a king bed. I wish they would do this at all the resorts, but oh well.

Are there more standard king bed rooms or more preferred king bed rooms. Does anyone know if I have better chances of getting one with a preferred room or standard room.

I'm not sure what the split is between preferred and regular, but from what I recall the vast majority of the king bed rooms are handicapped accessible rooms. No tub, just a shower curtain; the entire floor of the bathroom is pretty much a wet zone. A couple other changes for those that have mobility issues.

My fiancee and I stayed in one of those and while the king bed was nice, we'd rather forego that and stay in a place with a regular shower/tub.

Congrats on the upcoming honeymoon though, less than 2 months until ours.

Ok we have only been here 2 hours and everything perfect the service is fast and courteous. Ready hit our luggage and on the way back from the pool I asked a mouse keeper for extra towels and she gave my dd a towel animal!

How exciting!!! So glad everything is going great!

Now you don't think you can post and not tell us which building you got and how you like your room and location???:thumbsup2

ENJOY every moment!!

So... I have looked at the picture showing preferred rooms, but I am still a little confused. We have stayed at POP before, but not in a preferred room. We actually requested the 80s previously because that is my time. LOL. Showing my age now!

We are leaving in a little less than two weeks and staying in a preferred room at POP. I was thinking that it would be nice to be close to Classic Hall and kind of close to parking also. Is that possible? What would you all recommend? I thought I could call and maybe request something, but not sure where to request.

Thanks!

Gee, it's not really possible to have both - if you request the 70's, some of those rooms are not too far from parking, but none of the 60's are near parking. I think you'll need to choose one more than the other with a preferred location. Look at the map again (with preferred locations in yellow) and look at the 70's - you should be able to see the parking lot on that map - see the 90's parking? The 70's bldg 10 is not too far from there. If you like that location, you could request that building.

I know this doesn't help much - good luck!

Have a great trip!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks Minni&Nana. It really does help. It is not essential to be close to parking but I was just curious. I honestly should not have to go to the car too often anyway. I am just happy to be staying in preferred for the first time just to see what it is like. We have stayed in all of the values but never a preferred room.

You're welcome - I'm glad it helped.

I was in a preferred room last August for the first time - just for 2 ngts due to the hurricane - moved from SSR. While it was great to be so close to the Lobby/Food Court (esp since is poured all day both days), but I missed the Lakeside of the resort and walked over there in the rain to see it again.

Building 10 is very close to the food court, as is building 5.

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful trip!! :goodvibes

jeanlaser posted: yeah me too! it helps me alot!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

P.S. Part of 50's bldg 1 (Lady) pref is very close to parking, but a bit further to the food court. Check it out on the map as well. :)

I just got back yesterday from our first time at POP. I had asked for 50's building but was put in the 60's. Room #5236. I loved this spot and would ask for it again. I couldn't hear the noise from the pool and we had a lovely view of the lake. Saw lots of wildlife and sounds of nature. Felt like we were camping. A perfect spot in my opinion. Not too far to the main building. The kids loved the pool that was lifeguarded until 8pm.:goodvibes

That was a lovely location! It's an end room, yes? We've had room 3436 in the Tramp blg with a nice lake view and fireworks too.

So glad you had a nice trip! Welcome back..and thank you for the POP review. :goodvibes

Disney Store is doing a pre-order of Bolt right now for 19.98 and you get a pin for pre-ordering it.

Put in your request "Closest to Classic Hall and Parking Lot."
Even though we weren't preferred, we were only a few rooms from preferred and were right on the parking lot. It was great.

5.

Yes it was on an end. I loved that spot!! I was also lucky enough to get in on a fridge swap. Except for having influenza with a fever for the first 3 days of our trip...it was a perfect trip and perfect location. I would request this spot again!!!:thumbsup2
