We leave tomorrow and will be driving into the POP Thursday morning. Is there parking up front for check-in?

Is there parking up front for check-in?

There is a lot towards the front around where the cabs and such park. But you cannot park in the circle that is directly in front of the lobby. The busses and all pull up there and they will chase u away. Have a great stay.

Hey POP-ers.
Have any of you used the laundry facilities at the resort? If so, how busy is it usually?

We're going in just about 2 weeks, but figured we'd take a break mid-week and do a load of laundry to save on our packing.

Thanks!!

We did. The year we stayed in the 90's section, we used the one by the computer pool. I'd say it was about 8-9 pm and it wasn't crowded at all.

It was me and one other lady doing the laundry and we were both checking out the next day.

Folding up the spread and asking for the fleeze blankets is an awesome idea. Those bedspreads slide off easily anyway!
BUt I wonder if they change the fleeze ones that are on there too. I've only seen sheets on the changing carts at all hotels.
The hotel reports I've seen say they don't change them very often. Never seen one of Disney, but I've never seen them carrying around bedspreads either. I think I heard a long time ago maybe once a month, but it could be longer than that.
I just saw on another link that there were some virus' going around. So I'm packing Clorox wipes and taking some cleaning precautions.
We can't wait. DD is so giddy. She wishes we were leaving tomorrow.

I suppose it could depend on the mousekeeper but last year she changed our fleece blanket every other day. I noticed because the color seemed to change every other day and we always got two of the same color on each bed either the green or pink. We would joke around about what color would be on the bed next. lol At least with the fleece blankets you can pretty much see any icky stuff for the most part. Now those bed spreads are designed to hide anything. lol

HTH,
Ang

Hey POP-ers.

I did laundry on a September Thursday night around 9:30 in the Petals building. There were 4 of us hanging out with the laundry. It was manageable though. I was (told) about 5 minutes late getting back to the washers, so one person in need of a washer put my clothes from one machine in a basket for me so she could get started. She apologized, but I didn't care. I would have done the same thing.

I'm not sure what you mean about large sundaes, but IMHO the primo place for that is Ghiradelli in DTD... The Plaza also has them in MK.

what is the weather going to be like in mid March? In June the only time I wore a pair of jeans was one night when it rained/stormed pretty bad but even then it wasn't cold. I have no idea what to pack for March, I know it will be really cold still here!

We went in March 08 and it was pretty chilly! We wore jeans all week, with t-shirts during the day and then sweatshirts at night.

Question about smoking

Just realized that apparently you are allowed to smoke on the Disney property. Do the restaurants have smoking sections? Can you smoke in public places? Here we have no smoking in restaurants, bars, public places(parks, malls etc) and they even passed no smoking in your car with kids law that went into effect today. I just never thought when I make ADR's that I need to state "no-smoking section" or when I book my room "non-smoking".

I may need to call and re-book and change/verify some details

Any chance you can go mid-week? I see you live in the same city as my sis and her fam. and we found such good prices from your airport that we changed our dates and are driving from St.L to KC! $115 roundtrip on continental!

I noticed if we flew another day it would be cheaper, but dh really wants to do a road trip so we can see another part of the country. Oh well, let's see how it goes.

No you do not have to request It. There Is no smoking at any of the restraunts, and as far as I know In any of the area Inside the park. I do not smoke personialy, but i do not have a problem with others smoking but Its the grewing trend so thats ok to. There Is some smoking sections at the POP but those are easly mangable to wal;k around If you have any Issues with It.There so many many palces that dont allow it I do not mind leting them haveing there space.

Here is a good link regarding Disney Smoking policy and smoking areas

http://allears.net/tp/smoke.htm

As you'll see from the link, WDW parks and resorts have smoking areas set aside. I'm surprised the CM did not tell you you made your ADR's that all restaurants on property are non-smoking...it's usually part of what recite. ::yes::

I am wondering about a couple of things in the food court area. I saw something about a hot water dispenser. Can anyone just walk up and get hot water from a tap to make oatmeal or hot chocolate? Is there a fee for the microwave to make popcorn? Seems like those are both good ways to save some money.

I have a question about prebooking your next WDW Vac before you leave. Can it be cancelled or the dates changed without penalty:confused3 ? (I ask because I would need to make sure may vacation would be approved at work, and I wouldn't want to have to lose a deposit etc. if I needed to cancel or change the dates)

Thanks for the help!

Help yourself. Both are available for your use at no charge. :upsidedow

Thats a good question..... Somewhere I saw the "pre-book" flyer that someone posted but I can't find it now. But if I were to quess, I would say it would have the same cancellation policy as any other WDW Package, 45 day before arrival cancellation policy. But thats just my 2 cents.

Is this what you were referring to?

Not at all, I just realized when I was reading this thread and saw someone stating about the location of the smoking area and my lightbulb went off in my head. Thanks for the response, it's good to know.
