we will be there in 39 days:cool1: , :cool1: we have reserved a prefered room so do we still have to request a room?? we want to be by the bus stop and food court, I know we want it all! So your suggestions. :)

Awsome:cheer2: you will have a blast, as far as requesting a room, yes If you want a peticulair room or Building. Well the bus stop Is infront of the food court, and so no matter what you will eather walk through It or around the the main building. I belive the buildings that are Imediate around are the 90's the 60's and the 70's but I know there Is more knowledgeable folks here that can give you better Info.I will tell you the walking around POP is so much fun, even when we were so tired the walk through the pop resort was so much fun.

I think out of all the value resorts, POP says something to me you know :) Plus I like the theming even though I've never stayed there.

For those of you who don't follow the Pop Picture thread, dtr_angel posted the refillable mug he/she purchased in January 2009. I've added a link to the picture of the mug found to Post #1 as it's different than 2008's mug. I hear this may not be the offical "2009" mug, but indeed it's different than the one I purchased in Sept. 2008.

Even though the rules state the mug purchase is not for unlimited, lifeftime refills, I know people still want to know what they look like. Hopefully they just want to know for collecting purposes, not breaking-the-rules/reuse purposes! ;)

Those are still the old mugs. The new ones haven't come out.

Are you sure they are the old ones. The ones that I have are blue with a castle picture, not characters and a white handle, not black.

True they are very similar.

my pictures were from June 2008 so that's not new, sorry for the mixup!

Mine are exatly like that. There is a castle in between the characters, not really shown in the picture . I have a blue handled one and a silver handled one. Mine are from March. So there mut've been four different handles.
I am so dumb though. I bought mine first and used it for a day before DH decided to buy one. I never figured out we had different colored handles til lwe got home. LOL! I kept trying to make sure he wasn't putting coffe in mine ever. (hate the stuff) and here I only had to look at the handle.

We got 3 different colored handles in 2007 and they still had different colored handles last year !!'m going in May so will see then!!

I was just there a couple of days ago, and they were the ones in the picture shown and there were three or four different colored handles. Blue, silver, black and maybe a white.

Hi everyone. I haven't read the whole thread so sorry if this has been clarified before. I heard about POP changing the whole theming soon and I was hoping it wouldn't have already started by October this year?

This will be my first ever visit to POP, and my childrens first time in Florida so I don't want it tainted with building works. :S

Anyone got any idea when this will start?

So far this seems to be rumor only - thank goodness! Cannot even begin to imagine why Disney would change a much loved resort....but then again why would they put a Nemo theme in rooms at resort that is a total Caribbean Island theme???:confused3

Yup, I think it is just a rumor at this point. It doesn't make sense to do it now, the way the economy is going.

We are staying there next week. Our first time at a value resort so curious how it will go. I was wondering, I know most hotels do not change the bedspreads but maybe once a month or so. Do you think it would be a problem if I requested fresh bedspreads on our first day there? WE will be there a whole week and I don't want to sit on bedspreads not knowing who/what has been on it. I would put them on myself, just would need them delivered to the room or given to us before we go to our room.
We had also planned to eat at the food court our first night. Is it any good? If not, could you suggest a nearby place for a CS meal? We will have a 4 year old with us.

Sweetiee- you are going to love POP- the energy there is AMAZING! This may be our last year there since our group is a party of 5 and that bums me out! But as for the food court there is such a variety there that you will have no problem feeding your 4 year old! I have one that is super pickey and two that will eat anythig not nailed down!

Not usre about the bedding- I would like to know that too. I can not imagine they make more than one family use the bedspreads. I would think it is changed out- but I can not be certain!
Hope you have fun and we will be there same time as you!

Stacy

Does anyone know if the ystill have the big icecram sundaes anymore. I never got one as I couldn't figure out where to get it last trip, or they must've not been open when I was there. My sister is headed there this week.

We will be staying at Pop during the same time (checking in on the 13th). We have not found good airfare at all. We decided to make an adventure out of it and drive. It will be a long trip, but it should be fun.:thumbsup2
Any chance you can go mid-week? I see you live in the same city as my sis and her fam. and we found such good prices from your airport that we changed our dates and are driving from St.L to KC! $115 roundtrip on continental!

What I do about the bedspread is fold them up and put them on the top shelf of the closet. I then leave a note the next day asking for an extra fleece blanket for the bed. Bedspreads are all itchy anyway so I would rather not have it on the bed clean or not. I suppose you could always push the housekeeping button on the phone and ask for new ones too.

I love the Pop food court since there are plenty of choices and dinner specials. What we usually do our first day is go to DTD and eat at Earl of Sandwich or Puck's.

Folding up the spread and asking for the fleeze blankets is an awesome idea. Those bedspreads slide off easily anyway!
BUt I wonder if they change the fleeze ones that are on there too. I've only seen sheets on the changing carts at all hotels.
The hotel reports I've seen say they don't change them very often. Never seen one of Disney, but I've never seen them carrying around bedspreads either. I think I heard a long time ago maybe once a month, but it could be longer than that.
I just saw on another link that there were some virus' going around. So I'm packing Clorox wipes and taking some cleaning precautions.
We can't wait. DD is so giddy. She wishes we were leaving tomorrow.
