Do they run out of fridges or something? Would they be less likely to run out during a slow time of year?

PPL with medical needs that need to take medicine would get the refrig as a priority but you can add the request to your ressie or you can check out a frig swap like I'm in and see if your dates are available and the refrig is free! You just need to make sure it's packaged and gets to the next swapper! What are your dates??

We don't know when we're going (or even if we're going for sure.) I'm just trying to get as much info as I can.

I saw this photo on tripadvisor. The fridge is a decent size. And the caption said it was already in the room.

That is a photo of the fridge in a handicap room. Those are the only rooms at a value that will have a fridge.:)

Trip Adivsor is incorrect if it states all POP rooms are like that.

It didn't say that. I just saw that photo and was confused.

we had a handicapped accesible room (king bed)in December and we did not have a fridge. That said, I think there are two kinds of handicapped rooms available...we had a room that did not have a roll in shower, but it did have a lower peep hole in the door, a lower retractable clothes line in the shower and a extra safety handles in the bathroom (around the toilet and in the shower itself). Then there are the handicapped rooms that have roll in showers...maybe those rooms have the fridges already in them :confused3

What I want (if we're able to go) is a king bed, 4th floor, fridge, and in a building that is quieter (basically farther away from the main building and not right by a pool.)

Yes, I'm picky.

Yes, I'm picky.

When you book, list your requests.
Prioritize them in the order of importance to you.
So, for example, say "King bed, 4th floor, quiet area." Then say you'd also like to request a fridge, as you have to pay for the fridge so even though it's a request, it's a paid for request, and will be honored unless they run out. (And then they won't charge you.)
Quiet should be easier to get than King, so I'd put King first.
And, if you get there and it's not exactly what you asked for, ask if there are any rooms available in a different section.
Familiarize yourself with the map, so that you can suggest a place, OR know if what they are offering fits your needs.

Happy Planning! :wizard:

Aha! Hello my friend! (sorry OT Popper's..):goodvibes

I love planning. Which is probably obvious since we don't even know if we're going or not. And if we do, it won't be until January 2010. Haha.

Quiet is actually the most important thing to me. We can handle a full bed (we used to sleep on one.) I chose 4th floor because we won't have to worry about hearing people above us.

Looking at the resort map, it's hard to tell what might be quietest. Any thoughts?

Looking at the map, I'm wondering if the buildings in the black and yellow squares might be quietest?

And possibly the pink, green and blue as well?

What do the "experts" here think??

We're great:) I saw Jack last night too:thumbsup2 Is there a "24" thread anywhere?
POP...perusing around...debating if I should save some points and stay at POP on our Fri arrival...DD12 and I had a great time here before, I know the little one would enjoy!
THis has always been a great thread:goodvibes
Also waiting for AP rates to be released:rolleyes1
When in July are you going to be POPin'?!
Hope you're doing swell, as M I C K E Y says!

WOuldnt say I am an expert....although based on my POP experience:) We stayed in Building 4, (Playdoh on map , green square)..we were first floor, lakeside....Q U I E T !!!
Lovely, had ducks greet us in the morning, and had a water view!

Another question...what kinds of warm beverages are there for refillable mugs?

Coffee? Tea? Hot chocolate?

Refillable mugs - POP has coffee, tea, hot chocolate. But in the fall, we filled it up alot with the coke freeze - it was great on hot days and lasted awhile!:goodvibes

We've stayed at POP the last 2 years and will stay again this Sept. for 2 weeks. We have stayed in the 70's and 90's sections and never had a noise problem. My guess is that we were lucky in who was staying around us as well. But these buildings were nice and we plan to stay in the 70's again this year.:thumbsup2

It should say on post 1, but I know coffe and hot chocolate.

As for rooms, any can be noisey at some time. We stayed way back in the 70's by the lake, first floor and it was quiet, but one day I heard a bunch of racket outside. Last year we were poolside 60's and really never heard any noise.

The unofficial guide books lists some buildings that have freeway noise. It makes it sound like rooms facing the lake are louder because you can hear the freeway that's on the otherside of the lake or something.

I don't know if any do. Surely none are visable really. I think maybe the 80's or 90's you might be able to see the highway from the top floor? Definately not across the lake, as that is where legendary years sit abandoned.
I don;t think there would be enough noise to filter int o a room though.
