Yes, anyone else going soon - PLEASE let us know if the frozen coke machines are back or gone permanently!

Same here! My DW princess: loves the frozen coke. I might have to change resorts. Does any other resort offer frozen coke ... seriously?!?! Well, half seriously. :drinking:

Nope, only POP. It's a perk!!! :rotfl:Hopefully, the machines were plain worn out and new ones will appear soon. :thumbsup2 Fingers crossed!

Hi everyone,
Originally we were planning to go to disneyland......but have caved in and we have decided to come to DW!!! We are bringing our dad who has never had a vacation or been overseas for 30 years (we are coming from Australia) !!!! We have only ever stayed at the Contemporary (3 times) due to the location. This time we want to save some money and it seems that the POP is the cheapest and best? So plleeeeseee help me to decide the BEST room (for 3 adults...think I was looking at the premium?). I reallllly want Aussiedad to have a great stay! Is it very long to wait for buses? If you stay and watch the late fireworks can you still get back to the hotel before the buses stop running? Plllease help us to choose a room/building so that we can book for Nov!! Thanks everyone, I appreciate the help!:goodvibes

Where the best room to stay is really depends on what you're looking for. If you want someplace close to the Hippy Dippy pool and/or the food court/ bus stops, then I know Building 5 in a preferred room is great. There are others but I don't have the map in front of me, here let me play some disney music while we wait for someone to link you to the map :) :)
I stayed in a 4th floor room in 5 and it was great. You cut through the main food court building and the bus stops aren't far at all.

With the preferred rooms, some people complain about the noise- if you're looking for something more quiet with a nice view, you might shoot for a lake side room and skip the preferred thing.

As far as the fireworks- Disney won't leave you stranded :) As long as you start making your way back to the bus stop once the last fireworks are over, you'll get home eventually. The farther you are from the bus stop and the slower you walk, the longer you're going to wait for a bus.

Hope some of that helps- have a GREAT time!!!!

Just got back from our first stay at Pop...we loved it!!! It was fun, colorful and high energy. Very Disney! We stayed in bldg 5, ground floor of the 60's facing the courtyard on the back side of the Goofy fountains. Loved being close to everything, never had any trouble with noise. Although we were pretty tired at the end of the day so may not have noticed noise any way! Busses were great, only wait we had was one night coming back from DTD. We had just missed a bus, next one came in less than 15 minutes but it filled completely, then they stacked another bus right next to it and filled that one too.
They took out the frozen coke machine our second day there, and it never returned:sad1: We still got plenty of use out of our mugs though! My only complaint was the coffee, ugh!! It was dreadful! I had heard this and thought I could make do, but by the end of the week I really wanted REAL coffee. My solution was to buy a shot of espresso at the food court and pour it in my coffee to make it palatable. Next time I would definitely bring my own pot!! Other than that it was great. I would love staying there again and recommend it to anybody!

Glad your trip was great. I'm surprised about the frozen coke machine. I never drink them either, but I know alot of people love them. Will be interesting to see if they are repalced or if it is another cost cut by Disney.

The preferred rooms are not any bigger or nicer than the standard. So the only difference is that they will be somewaht closer to the main building. As for buses, you will never be left behind. I've been told they run at least 2 hours after park closing, and later if needed, till the last guest has left.
I find rushing to the buses after fireworks is a huge waste. You are being trampled on and the waits tend to be long. I always take my time and kind of wait til lthe park empties and then go to the buses. The waits tend to be less, and there is less of a mob situation going on while making your way there.

Just some of the King rooms are handicapped. Other than that, I can't help you - I haven't stayed at POP before.

thanks, i seen there are something like 81 standard king rooms and 50+ handicapped rooms. i will make sure to call disney reservations and let them know i'm requesting a standard king room.

I asked 2 different cast members in the food court on 2 different days and they said it's not coming back, no word from anybody "official", though.

This might be one time that I actually believe what a cast member says. Those times are few and far between.

Oh no! No more frozen Coke?? I so look forward to those every time! I really, really hope maybe they're just replacing the machines.

Oh man - I'll be sad to see the frozen coke machine's gone. It was a nice treat at the end of a day. My kids will be sad. I hope it's just temporary, but with POP being the only one - who knows. They may be gone.

I wish they would offer Kona coffee or the coffee at the Wave - Yeah I'm dreaming - LOL!

We will be staying at Pop May 16 to 23. I was so looking forward to the frozen Coke. I too hope they are just fixing/replacing it!!

I just read another thread from someone who just returned and they said the slushie machines were being replaced with tea machines (apparently they have these at the AS resorts?). So upset. :(
