What a wonderful, busy day for both of you! My DS has always wanted to go to Cirque but I'm too cheap to pay for it, mean mom that I am.

i had the family over today and they were looking at trip photos and i told them about what happened on soarin....
they couldn't stop laughing

how about a cute AWWHH moment! my nephew who is 5 and has never been to disney with me because my sister wants to be the one to take him first, came over my house today. out of the blue he comes up to me and hugs me and kisses me and says, "i love you great and powerful oz!"

You are such a good daughter with all of these surprises. It makes me wonder what you have in store for your mother on Christmas. I can't wait to read more about your trip
mom was informed that this trip was her mother's day present, birthday present, and xmas present all rolled into one! now i have to look to my dad. my older sister is taking them to vegas as a surprise next week so i may get him tickets to cirque du soleil there or lion king (which he loves).

So cool that you 2 went to Cirque! I saw them here in Baltimore in March. I REALLY enjoyed the show!
Sorry that the bus took so long to arrive. It seems that the Bus System has gone down-hill. In the late 90's early 2000s, I LOVED using the buses! They always came within 10mins of waiting. It was great to not have to drive on vacation! Oh well . . .

the buses were pretty good...just the DTD one that was very very slow! i wasn't sure where raglan was either...never noticed it before until i had to find it. the bread pudding was so yummy but i was too full to finish it.

Found your latest TR though jaycns lastest TR. I had read your solo TR a while ago and loved that one and this one is even better! you are the coolest daughter! Loved all of the photos and descriptions! I was wondering what camera do you use because the quality is amazing!!! Especially the close ups of the animals!

thanks...i have a canon powershot sx110 IS. i just bought it and haven't figured out all of its bells and whistles but it's taking great photos so far.

this definitely could be antss' trip report...we hung out most of the week. it was a great trip.

After such a long night, we were really tired this morning. We decided to sleep in and hit breakfast in the lounge late. I had one more big surprise the next day and I didnt want her to be too tired so the plan was to hit only one park for a few hours and then rest before heading out to Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club. I have always wanted to eat there and my mom is such a big steak eater that she couldnt wait also! I texted the girls and told them that we were going to lazy around the resort a bit and head out to Epcot for a little while.
Our favorite part of Epcot is the countries and we wanted to spend some time there. Our plan was to just hit our favorites and sample some of our favorite foods and do some shopping. Once there we made it all the way around WAY TO GO MOM! We made a stop in Mexico to ride the boat ride .unfortunately I am liking it less and less each time I see it. Updates are definitely needed.
Mom didnt feel like riding Maelstrom so we skipped Norway. We stopped in China to do some shopping for the family. There were all kinds of cute topiaries around world showcase.
We finally made it to Japan and the candy lady was out so we stopped to see her magic. We were getting hungry for lunch and we always like to stop at yakitori house for some teriyaki chicken. It was yummy as usual. We went out to see the gardens. Loved the bonsai displays.
We did a little shopping and I bought some dishes and one of my favorite snacks (ika) yes dried squid! YUM!! We stopped also in Morocco to share some baklava. I love eating my way around world showcase. We found ourselves nearing the end of world showcase and mom and I both were exhausted. We decided to head back to the resort to rest before dinner. On the way back I started to drop hints about cancelling our dinner plans. I called concierge earlier in the day to have our reservations moved to later but now I just couldnt imagine changing for dinner and making it all the way over to the Yacht Club. When we got back to the room, moms next surprise was under the door. We were both so tired that we walked right over it into the room.
On day 1 mom had asked if I had booked the sunrise safari and I gave her this long story of how I didnt act quick enough and that since it is only offered 2 days a week, that it was booked and we wouldnt be able to do it. She had forgotten all about it but of course I had booked it! They slipped this envelope under our door with all the details. We were to meet in the concierge lounge really early in the morning to have our park tickets checked and to meet up with the rest of the group.
This was the biggest surprise of them all as she has always wanted to do this. Ever since she saw Samantha Brown do it on the travel channel. I was quickly dosing off and once again made mention of cancelling dinner. Mom got the hint and said she would not be disappointed if we cancelled. Not sure if she was still floating on the surprise of what was to come the next day or whether she was just as tired as I was but she agreed we should cancel. I called and cancelled our ADR and quickly fell asleep.
When I woke up, Mom was where else, on the balcony again watching the animals.
We freshened up and headed to the lounge for dinner. This night we had barbecue ribs, bobotie again (yeah!!), and lentil soup. The soup was disgusting. It had sausage in it and it tasted like a pot of bland pork & beans. YUCK!! We filled up on bobotie and of course our regulars of bread, cheese, and hummus. We had gotten our second wind so decided to head to MKG for a couple of hours. We hadnt yet ridden much here so wanted to knock a few attractions out. We went in my absolute favorite WDW attraction, philharmagic. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! I could sit there all day. I love how it puts you right in the middle of my favorite disney movies. After that we rode buzz lightyear and mom was so proud to have beaten me! We headed over to its a small world as there was no wait. I think this is the first time I have gotten any photos there.
We decided to head back to the resort to get in a really good sleep before the sunrise safari. Unfortunately just as we made it down main street and in front of the train station, spectromagic started so we had to wait for a break. I kept my eye on the cast members and as soon as there was a space between the floats, they opened the walkway and all of us waiting to either leave the park or come in went running. I havent seen mom move that fast in a long time! We made it back to the resort just before the dessert offering ended. There were zebra domes tonight in the lounge YUM!!! I grabbed some tea and we headed to the room. A relaxing day but a good one none the less. Both of us can hardly sleep at this point due to the anticipation of what was to come tomorrow.

I love all of the surprises you had for your mom. It was so sweet of you.You've even inspired me to plan a few surprises for my upcoming trip in September. I just don't know what those surprises will be yet. LOL
thanks..i got ideas from jacyns. you should check out her trip reports (she has one running now)...she comes up with the greatest surprises. my problem is now i've been bitten by the surprise bug and i am in the process of planning a "princess dream" vacation for my niece who has never been to WDW. can't wait.

i was on the balcony holding very still and my mom kept asking what i was doing and i told her that if i just waited long enough it would pay off and then this beauty started licking the tree.
