POR is a beautiful resort. We never stayed there but we did do the carriage ride there in 2006. We really enjoyed it. We were going to stay there on our last trip but ds really wanted to stay at AKL. I can't wait to hear more about your trip. Thanks for the update.

It is very beautiful and the carriage ride was so much fun!
We were supposed to stay at AKL in 2007 but at the last minute we found that we could stay an extra night and AKL couldn't accomodate that so we went to OKW instead. So, we still have not tried AKL. I would love to go check it out.

Thanks about the camera. It takes wonderful pictures!! But it is heavy to lug around. DH ended up carrying it in the bag I bought and I had to pull it out when I wanted to take pictures. So, once again I didn't get as many pics as I would have liked because sometimes he wasn't near me when I wanted to take some pics. Oh well....the one's I did take came out pretty good.

I think that is so odd that so many cm's do not understand the baby swap. Disney has it plastered all over the website and other cm's who don't work the rides can tell you all about it. Weird!

When I last left off, we were leaving Dinoland. Since we still had time before our 12:30 ADR at Yak & Yeti, we decided to try out "It's tough to be a bug". This would be a first for all of us. On the past 2 trips we skipped it because so many people said how scary it was. DS did so well on our last trip, I felt very confident that he would do well with this show on this trip. He has crossed so many barriers.......some darkness-CHECK, loud noises-CHECK, 3-D images-CHECK, large characters-CHECK, smells or water being squirted at you-CHECK, being fumigated by a large bug in the dark........NOT!!!!! I spent a lot of time trying to peel him off of the bench!! He layed his body on the bench with his hands over his head and ears and was SO SCARED!! Of course, myself and DH instantly felt like horrible parents but judging by the screams and cries of other small kids in the theater, I'd say we weren't even close to being the only ones. I felt like I prepared myself and DS for the entire show, but I had no idea about the fumigation part. NOT GOOD!! Luckily, this did not deter him from getting on other rides, but he was nervous for every show we would go into for the rest of the trip. He would start getting whiny in line and wouldn't believe us that it wasn't scary. I really HATE when I lose his trust. Here is the only pic I took from ITTBAB, before we went in. It's really dark so you can barely see him. He is wearing his bug glasses.

After scaring the poop out of my kid, we decided to shake it off by walking around Discovery Island and taking pictures. We finally got to take our time and check out all the carvings on the tree. Here are some pic's from that walk.....

These little guys were everywhere this trip! DS kept trying to catch one, but never did....

We made out way over to a Discovery Club checkpoint. DS can get another stamp in his passbook!! Ok, about the passbook....we got it last time we were there and he got a stamp from Rafiki's Planet Watch. He still had the passbook in his lanyard pocket for this trip so when we came across this station he was able to get another stamp. We don't really go looking for the stations but DS keeps the book and it's a nice surprise when we come across one by chance. We are now averaging one stamp per trip.

Just as we were finishing up, FJ looked over and saw one of his "peeps" and insisted I take another picture....

When we came out from behind the tree we still had time to kill before our lunch ADR. We headed over to the trail in Africa and decided we had enough time to only go as far as the hippo's, then turn around and head back. We headed into the trail and got to a portion where no one was. Suddenly I heard a rustling in the leaves right next to me when we walked by. It sort of scared me so I stopped, slowly backed up to see what it was. This is what I discovered...

After we all looked at the bunny, we headed further down the trail.

When we got to the Hippo portion, we walked through the door only to be met by a HUGE wall!!! They were refurbishing the hippo area so they closed the entire window off. They had a CM standing there and this monitor...

BUMMER!!!! So, we turned around and headed out. We were still early but decided to walk slowly over to Yak & Yeti and maybe by the time we got there, it would be time.

Up next, a Yak & Yeti lunch and a possible DIS meet.....

We have never walked Discovery Island. Will have to check it out. DH and I were debating back and forth about taking DS into see ITTBAB, but I think your story convinced me to wait.
