The crew:
Dad-aka:Michael-The chief paying person
Mum-aka:Kathryn-The other paying person
Lil Sis-aka:Sarah(9)-The small grumpy one
Me-aka:Helen(13)-Head Navigator and planner
Yes,it IS gonna take TWO(!!!!!) days to get there!
It's about 10 o'clock and we are just leaving the house..."Bye house",says Sarah while i am busy making barfing noises in the back of the car....
At Glasgow airport we check in fairly quickly and are soon in the waiting area,Sarah happily huming to herself,Me, wishing i had brought my mobile.Ho-Hum.It is announced that the plane is on time
(good-no repeats of last year then-
) Once the plane arrives we have to go through the usual hoo-hah of people with small children and people who might need more time getting on the aircraft(I don't have a problem but it does get a teeny bit boring)
Anyway,we get our seats no problem and get settled down (Sarah acting half her age so she gets special attention from the crew)
The flight goes smoothly and we have our lunch on the plane which was really quite nice judging by the other aeroplane food that i have had in the past
London is sunny and warm and we just drift through the various desks 'cos my dad has booked our luggage into the transfer service(it gets checked in for the next flight as soon as we arrive),get outside and ponder how to get our shuttle to our hotel for the night. We find a phone so my dad quickly dials the number of the Skylane Hotel and within minutes it has arrived and we are on our way to our hotel.
The hotel was nice and soon we are back off again going through to the centre of London 'cos my dad's booked us on The London Eye.We catch the Gatwick express train-thingy and we are off.Unfortunatley it immediatley starts POURING down.
Oh well a bit of rain never hurt anybody.Right?Wrong!
My jeans get ABSOLOUTLEY SOAKED!Great.
As we get off of the tube we run toward the umbrella stall and dad grabs one hastlily gives the person a tenner and we all hurry off onto the bridge towards The London Eye.
We decide to go to the "Family Restaraunt" McDonalds for dinner and then hurry to the gift shop until out turn on the Eye.
The rain clears up by the timewe get on it but there is no queue.YES! Something has gone right today(lol)
We all enjoy the Eye and soon it's time to head back to the tube to get to the Gatwick Express,to get to the airport,to get the shuttle,to take us back to our hotel.
I just drifted off to sleep thinking that the next day wouldn't be just as tiresome
Yeah,right
