This is it! Our last full day in Disney. Waking up today I remember being really tired and feeling really sad that we would be going home the next day. The first half of the trip was going nice and slow, and then all of a sudden we were leaving. Today was the busiest day in the parks and the hottest! We think it was Disney's way of making it a little easier for us to say good bye!
The night before we had done EMH at MK... we went back to the Poly to get our car, and stopped by Kona to see about changing our 7:30 AM reservation. (What was I thinking!!??) We got lucky and they told us they had a table at 9:00 for us... jackpot!
What can I say to describe Kona???? finger licking, tasty, yummy, scrumptious.... DELISH!!! I got the Tonga Toast, and Wayne got the Big Kahuna. The Tonga lived up to all the hype for me... I was really happy and really full leaving this place. Oh and how can I forget about the Kona Coffee... it was the best coffee I had the entire trip. (Wayne and I love our coffee... this was really good coffee)
After breakfast we hop on the monorail and go to the Magic Kingdom for our last day in the park!! - My pics are gray to help describe our moods! (hee hee)
We got to MK around 10:30 and Myles & Wayne went to Tom Sawyer Island first. (I did't want to deal with Owen and all those stairs- so we hung back and went on Aladdin (our 3rd time going on this ride!) Myles found a paint brush!!! We were so excited. They gave him a little certificate that entitles him and his family a fastpass on any ride in the park!!
Notice how spending 30 minutes in the MK has changed our moods! Gotta love that Disney Magic.
From 11:00-1:00 we went on the Jungle Cruise, The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room (Which was stuck in my head all day- and now is again!) and Aladdin...
This ride hasn't changed a bit... I remember riding it with my family when I was a kid!
Up next Owen and I rode Pirates... we had a little meltdown with Myles. He had wanted to ride it and then decided he couldn't and was clinging to a pole in the room right before you get on the ride. The CM told him it wouldnt be scary but Myles started SCREAMING (you should see some of the looks we got from some parents!) We didn't want to force him on, but we also wanted to try to encourage him to try it because we really thought he would love it... oh well- Wayne ended up taking the hysterical child outside while Owen and I went on the ride. Owen LOVED it BTW. He was singing and dancing the whole time.
Did I mention yet how HOT it was today!? I think you can see by this picture how hot Owen looks. - BTW I took this picture when him and I were on Pirates. I took it right when I sat down and not really on the ride.... well about 5 people on our boat shouted at me "NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY" Geesh!! I think the heat was starting to get to people.
After Pirates, we ventured over to the Pirate Tutorial. What a BETTER experience this was for Myles than the Jedi Training. Myles was picked to be the helper, and then they also picked a bunch of kids to be pirates and fight with a sword (Myles wasnt chosen for this part), and then they pick basically any kid that is standing around wanting to be picked to come up and get a certificate and become a "pirate". (Myles got to go up for this) He really had fun at this and the way they handle this is so much better for the kids than at Jedi. Well that and Jack Sparrow was pretty easy on the eyes too!
We took our little pirates to lunch after at the Liberty Tavern. Our reservation was for 1:00.
WARNING!! If you should ever dine at this place MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THE BATHROOM BEFORE YOU GET IN HERE! LOL
Poor Wayne!!! When we got there, Myles said he had to go to the bathroom and I said, "will you take Owen and change him while you are going!?" Simple, Harmless question right?? Well, there is ONE, SMALL, SINGLE STALL bathroom on the THIRD FLOOR. About 30 minutes later Wayne appears and doesnt look happy. I guess Myles decided he was going to "try" to poop and Owen was a MADMAN. There was a huge line and changing Owen wasnt an easy task in the tiny bathroom with the 3 of them in it.
I have to say the woman that was waiting on us had too many tables. She was runnng around like a crazy lady and kept saying, "sorry - I am just too busy to get to you". Finally, she takes our order and we tell her we are on the dining plan- we order the app to share, and our meals... our meals come out, no app. Well, the app was all I really wanted so we asked her about it and she said "oh it didnt come out? want me to take it off the bill?" we said, no, can we still get it? She was annoyed..I think because she was so busy. The food was just ok.. the dessert however was OMG SO good. Oh and right when the food came, Myles asked to go to the bathroom again... and since Owen screams every time I leave his side until I return, Wayne had to take him again. Poor Wayne!
Lunch ended around 2:00 and we decided we would use our fastpass that Myles had won and then leave. It was SO crowded. This is the only day we were in the MK at this time of day and OMG hanging out at the pool at the hotel was much more fun than battling the crowds in that heat. So we felt REALLY LUCKY that Myles had this fastpass!! He decided he wanted Peter Pan to be our last ride. So we took our final ride at the Magic Kindom and said our goodbye's!
When we got back to our nice, cold, clean room, this was waiting for us. (yes we tipped $5.00 this day)
Myles napped, while Owen and Daddy went for a swim. I packed!! We had Garden Grocer deliver us a bottle of wine, amongst other items and we hadnt even had a chance to drink it. So, I had the brilliant idea to fill up our refillable mugs with wine, and take them on the boat to DTD - CLASSY!!
We were all so excited for our dinner at T-Rex!! We arrived shortly before our 6:30 ADR and was seated right away. We sat in the Coral Reef area- which was great. It wasnt too loud in there, and the kids really liked it. I could see not liking being seated in the ice cave... but where we sat was pretty cool. For dinner, Wayne and split the nacho's and a cheseburger. No dessert at this place... we wanted to save room for Goofy Candy Co.
After dinner, we did some shopping. The crowds were great and it was starting to cool off a little. I got 6 boxes of Mickey Mac & Cheese, 3 bags of Mickey pasta, ice cube Mickey tray, postcards, stickers, Mickey Cookies for the kids school, mugs for our moms, xmas ornaments, a new flag for our house... YIKES how were we getting all of this home!? Wayne used his Birthday Gift Card, and ended up getting a t-shirt for himself, and he also got the boys some Mickey Ears, and he got me some stuff for our kitchen that I had mentioned to him earlier that I liked! He is just so thoughtful and generous, sharing his gift with us.... we are so lucky to have him...
The Goofy candy co was packed.... (That must be where everyone was because the rest of DTD was empty) and pushing a double stroller in there was no fun so I sat outside with the boys while daddy waited for his pretzels and took some cute pics of them!
In this picture you can see the new additions to the animal collection... Roo and Figment!
Well, it was time to go. I couldn't believe it was our last night in Disney. On the boat ride back, the boys enjoyed their new pops from the Goofy Candy Co. and Wayne and I talked about the trip and how much fun we had and how much we were going to miss it.
Coming up: Day 8! May 12th- Our last day... Breakfast at Ohana, a short trip to Epcot and lunch at Chef de France... Do we meet Remy!???
