Oh goodness, I hate to hear that, but know that sometimes the worst can often be the best in the end. I hope Chad is holding up okay. I honestly can't imagine what it must be like for him to have to go through this. Maybe Zac could take Wes for a bit if he needed to.

Yeah, my plan is to wait until he passes, then call Zac and see if he will meet me half way to pick up Wes and get him away from all of the mourning people. Zac is unemployed right now, so it shouldn't be a problem at all. I am planning on being in OK this weekend anyway, so if I take Wes tomorrow, I can pick him up Friday. And you are 100% right.. it is the best thing, it is just very hard to watch. Chad is doing ok considering. I think he has taken his dad's role of being "the rock" ..and is upset, but still staying very tough about it all.

Maggie I hope you dogs get better soon. I work with a girl who's dog has the same thing as Ellie Mae. Her dog got very sick very fast. But then seem to bounce back fairly fast.


Not much going on today. We did get our Lewis Black ticket.
DH got them for me for Mothers Day. The show is not till Aug. but that is okay

ooo- Kellie- DH and I saw Lewis Black in Atlantic City a few years ago- I love him. I swear, he is so me! I get so aggravated and grit my teeth over everything He makes me pee!

Thanks Kellie. Ellie bounced back real fast. 2 days of antibiotics (maybe not even that long) and she was on the mend. Last night she was more playful than ive seen her in a while. Makes me wonder hwo longs its been bothering her, and how bad it got so quickly.

Cassi, DH and I are thinking about you guys heavily right now, lots of prayers said, lots of thoughts your way. Please let me know if there is anything that he and I can do from afar.


Girls I am exhausted, with a big fat E.

Jethro's back went out at the very end of April (like a week and a half ago).
Friday night Ellie May went down hard and had to go to the emergency vet.
Saturday day i had to take her back and they ruled she had pancreantitis. She was so lethargic it was scary.
Yesterday day I took the dogs in for their yearly shots and Ellie's check up with the vet after some antibiotics to help her. They evaluated Ellie, she was better, and then they got their shots.
Last night at about 9:45pm Jethro swelled up like a pig and had an allergic reaction from his yearlys and we had to take him to the emergency vet.
We get home about midnight, and Ellie is back down again.

I am SO exhausted. This dog situation is draining the life out of me. Jethro has had back problems before- so the first incident was no suprise. But the rest is coming out of left field. I feel like im really being prepared for this upcoming baby.

This morning Jethro is doing better- his swelling has gone down some (they gave him steroid shots), and I started Ellie on some of Jethro's back medicine (Im going to go that route and see what happens).

You dont even want to know what we have spent this passed little bit in vet bills. It would make you shake your head!

Here is a photo of Jethro last night. DH was on the phone with the emergency vet and our vet. I am so glad i took these-- it reall helps me to compare the swelling. This morning I couldnt tell that it had gone down, but after looking at these-- i definitely can (its just hard when you see them all the time)

Okay, enough rambling from me.

Tinker-I know this is such a hard time for you and Chad. Even when you think you're prepared for death, it is still so hard.

Maggie-sorry about your doggie problems. Poor little Jethro looks pitiful. I hope they are both up to speed soon and that you get some rest.

I have been on the phone all morning with Great Wolf Lodge and I have a headache. First of all, DD's b-day plans have been driving me nuts. We had planned on doing a party here Sunday but at the last minute DH told me to see if I could plan somewhere else because our bridge flooded out last week and our access is a little iffy right now. So I've been calling around to different places and everything is either booked or costs an arm and a leg. Not to mention DH's dad had knee replacement surgery Monday and is unable to even get out and go anywhere. So I finally made an executive decision after GWL sent me out a discount code. We have never been since it is so expensive but when I looked with the code the wolf den suite was $183. Still outrageous, but a lot better than the usual price of $230. So I went ahead and booked it online and after I put in my card info, ect. it showed $206 for the same room. So I had to call and deal with several different people trying to get it fixed. The first lady had the gall to say "Prices are subject to go up at any time due to demand." I said "Yeah, but not in between you giving me the price and my credit card going through!" So I finally got them to agree to the price but since they had already charged me, I have to wait until check-in to get my money back. But anyway, DD will be so excited. We're going to try to keep it a secret until we get there.

Maggie- oh the poor little baby! It looks like in pic 1 his eyes are a swollen shut, but pic 2- they are much wider.

I think you are right- this is all preparing you for the baby. After hearing all of these problems, the baby might be easier

I hope both pups are doing better soon.

Marna- you know me and my memory- but wasn't there a problem/dilemma with DD's b-day last year??

Maggie poor Jethro he looks so sad. I hope the dogs get better soon.

Sometimes I wonder with get them shots. 2 years ago when we got the cat his shots he just did not seem the same.
He normally is kinda sleppy after a trip to the vet. But this time he was way out of it. So I look at the slip and it was marked that the gave him a distemp shot for a dog.
So I called and they had me bring him in.They seemed to think he was okay but as DH said it took the fight out of him for 3 days.
