This was the best nondisney trip that we have had in a long time. I loved the way Natalie loved this trip as well. How are you feeling.:goodvibes

Everything is going well over here. :goodvibes

And the best part about your trip is that it was also educational;)-- I was dorky growing up and loved those kind of trips. This may actually make Natalie want to learn more about history herself :)

Still getting ready for the move?

I was the same way Maggie- I think Disney is the most wonderful place in the world, but love the idea of taking a mini vaca to do something educational like that!!

Theresa, the hair is REALLY cute on you!! And it reminds me that I REALLY need a trim!! lol! Too bad my stylist is 3 1/2 hours away! I'm too scared to try to find someone new in AR! lol!

So, DBF got a promotion (yea!!) which means we have the opportunity to move again.. he put in for AR, OK (home for me), TX (shopping! Close airport!), and... (dun dun dun) FLORIDA!!!! We will find out where we are going in a few months!

That is awesome. Thanks I am getting a small trim on Monday. I hope this trip opens many learning avenues for Natalie. Maggie I am still trying to get everything ready for the move in August. Moving is just awful. I think I will need another vacation after the move.

Theresa- great pics! I want to get back to DC- it has been a very long time since I was there. I was not one of those kids that liked a history lesson on vacation:rotfl2:

NOW I can't get enough- I said this before, but I feel so lucky to live on the East Coast with all of the history here. I am addicted to the Revolutionary War era. I can't believe that I pass areas all the time that George Washington walked and crossed the DE.

Every year on xmas they have the "Crossing the DE" re-enactment. One year we decided to brave the freezing cold and go. I find this ironic- I was so cold I could not feel my toes! ( I cannot imagine how the poor soldiers felt with no shoes) But, it was so windy that THEY CANCELED THE RE-ENACTMENT! :rotfl2: I said, if dear George felt that way- who knows we could have a King right now instead of a President :lmao: Too windy:sad2:

I want to get to Gettysburg this summer. It is only about 2 hours away.

Cassie- that is exciting news. You must be torn- move back home or hoping DBF gets transferred to FL!

Maggie- glad to hear things are OK in the doggie-dept. Hey, BTW- what ever happened to Mama Dog!?

I need to apologize. I said I was going to check in every morning (I forgot to mention never believe me:lmao:) No, I have been busy working and not much DISing. We might be cutting pay across the board and I am a little nervous. I am a little PO'd at myself b/c I went and bought new office furniture, and now who knows how long I will have my job! (Why am I laughing you ask? b/c it is SO me to do something like that:rotfl2:)

Tonight we are going to see Korn at the House of Blues in Atlantic City. Not too excited. They are just a band I have always wanted to see and never got the chance, so, I figured, why not? I am sure it will not be as awesome as seeing them in a huge outdoor venue, but, this will do.

Theresa The pictures are great. I love Washington. DH and I keep saying how we want to go and spend a few day there.
DD went for her 8th grade class trip and loved it.

Madd sorry things are up in the air for work. I hate that feeling. Does you state have the work share program? If so maybe they can do that to help save jobs.

hrh where have you been? Miss ya

madd, only YOU would put mouse ears on Marilyn Manson..

What Kellie said! Where have you been? Laying low?

Actually- no, I did not put them on Marilyn- there is a whole series of pics with him in Ears! I think he likes Mickey. I also have a pic of him in front of this obscure Mickey painting. I keep TELLIN' ya'll he is a good guy, if he likes Mickey (and is a friend of Mr Depp) he can't be all bad!:thumbsup2

Kellie, I have no idea what is out there! I have had this job for 14 years. The only option I have now is, Cross my fingers.;)

I have been working on our August trip..I have an ADR booking window coming up and it is making me CRAZY!! Hope y'all are doin' well!

We are at PC for 8/22-8/25, then moving to YC for 8/26-8/29. This is our first FD trip, the only TS meal we ever had was Sci Fi Cafe..so this will be quite a challenge for us!

Hi Freaps! Madd- I thought of you yesterday when I was on my way to work on I-64 and passed a huge number of bikers heading east. There were thousands of them with a police escort. I'm assuming they were on their way to DC for Memorial Day. I also saw several Veteran's Affairs busses heading that way too. After that and hearing about Theresa's trip, I'm really wanting to go back to DC. DH and I need to plan a long weekend trip there. It's only about 7.5 hours from here and DH has a ton of relatives there we can mooch off of.:rotfl2:

Oh, I've been meaning to tell ya'll about DD's PETA approved version of "Three Blind Mice". :lmao:She's been singing this all the time lately.

Three blind mice,
Three blind mice,
See how they run.
See how they run.
They all ran up to the farmer's wife.
She stepped on their tails and dropped the knife.
Didja ever see such a sight in your life?
As three blind mice.

:rotfl: Isn't that cute?

Trust me, I vowed never to move again. Im sure that wont be the case-- but moving is terrible and I wish you the best of luck. I started months and months in advance trying to pack one box at a time of things we werent using. You WILL need another vacation... you definitely will!

NOW I can't get enough- I said this before, but I feel so lucky to live on the East Coast with all of the history here. I am addicted to the Revolutionary War era. I can't believe that I pass areas all the time that George Washington walked and crossed the DE.

Ellie is doing better. After my last vet apt I went against the doctor and told them i wanted to treat one thing instead of the other. I felt bad because the doctor really didnt think that was the problem (and she really believed herself when saying it)-- and i totally felt another way. Ive never went against a doctors recommendations-- but with Ellie sick for over a week and the only improvement was when we treated the pancreas-- i started doing some research and learned that dachshunds, the breed alone, show odd signs of things in their legs and back when fighting an infection. My doctor still swears its her back. Oh well-- i didnt tell her i looked on the internet- didnt want to seem like more of a quacko. Anyway-- Ellie is doing 80% better. She is feeling wonderful, up and playing, and she has almost completely stopped grunting due to her legs. Ive only seen issues in her legs when she runs (she uses both back at the same time and the front alternate)... and when she runs really fast on the kitchen floor- she slides and her butt comes out from under her. Im trying to keep her from running- but dogs will be dogs.

I feel terrible for the Mama Dog part. When Ellie got really sick nearly 3 weekends ago I didnt have enough time in the day to get the house clean, baby her, do all of her medicines, and take her back and forth to the vets/hospitals, much less keep Mama Dog on my mind. I stopped feeding her. I know, its terrible. DH and I were out last weekend though and saw Mama Dog had taken up with the other stray dog that the neighbors down the road have been feeding (its a little ways away, but we were happy to see her find a companion and a possible new food source). I havent seen "mama dog" come up for food anymore, otherwise i would rush to put some out (the reminder before would help sometimes). I hope she is still doing well. Her pups should be up and going by now.
