I just read where Genie Francis is going to the "Young and the Restless". GH couldn't even lure her back for the storyline involving Lucky's son's death and Luke's intervention? I like the actress who plays Elizabeth and glad she got rehired, but I would have gladly sacrificied her to get Genie back.

The good news is that I'm so happy to see Anthony Zacharra in scenes now. I'm a few days behind in my recordings, but I can't wait to hear him say "LuuLuu".

Previews for the week of 02-May-2011

**When Lucian goes missing, Brenda loses her mind and her sense of decorum. She even goes so far as to insult Sonny as an uncaring ******* who never warmed up to the little boy.
Jax recommends Brenda put up a hefty reward for the return of Lucian. And she thinks it’s a great idea to implement right away.
Sonny puts up a block to Brenda about the wisdom in doing what Jax says. This causes friction.
Sonny worries that he and Brenda may not come back from this Lucian incident.
Sonny shares with Dante that he believes Suzanne might be up to something bad.
Dante puts Suzanne through the ringer about a missing Lucian.
Brenda expects Sonny and Jax to throw themselves into tracking little Lucian down.
Lucian was never Brenda’s to mourn. He was a false start, c/o Suzanne. But that doesn’t mean Brenda had that miscarriage.
Dante reports later that they saw Suzanne sneaking away on a jet with Lucian.

Jason runs into a strange female (hired killer) while trying to rummage inside Johnny’s place uninvited.
Jason goes full steam ahead with putting together a case against Anthony in the killing of Brandon.
Jason solicits Sam as to her thoughts on this new fertility treatment. Is she on board or not?
Sam replies to Jason that she’s all the way in on trying to have a miracle baby with him.
Jason has dreams about a kid and a birthday.
Michael gives Jason uplifting inspiration to face the next step.
Sam checks in at GH for her fertility treatment procedure, praying all goes well.
Jason and Abby have a meeting of the minds when it comes to Michael’s welfare. They thrash it out.
Anthony misleads Jason, so he’s none the wiser.
Johnny goes and busts Anthony in the middle of a business transaction with a chick donning a blond wig.

Jax makes noises about resorting to the law to take full custody of Josslyn from Carly.
Shawn tries to bolster a defeated Carly, who’s preoccupied with Jax and the custody fight brewing. She crumbles in Shawn’s big, beefy arms.

Spinelli raises his hackles at nosy Diane, going through his former case files.
Diane asks Dante to dig into what Spinelli’s got to hide.

Elizabeth resumes her nursing duties at GH, but cannot forget that her son Jake died. He’s everywhere.
Elizabeth and Jason reach out and are kind to one another, in light of Jake’s untimely death.
Something Jason says jolts Elizabeth into telling Lucky the truth that he’s Aiden’s biological dad.
Nikolas allows Lucky and Siobhan another way to deal with their VISA situation.
Siobhan whisks Lucky away to a cabin in the woods, so it can be just the two of them and they can heal.
Siobhan is such a balm for Lucky. Together, they move forward with that wedding, for the right reasons.
A justice of the peace presides over Lucky and Siobhan’s wedding. Before the vows are completed, Elizabeth barges in.
Elizabeth looks at Lucky and Siobhan, and chickens out, unwilling to destroy their joy this way.
As she witnesses Lucky betrothing himself to Siobhan, Elizabeth can’t help but go back in time to when she and Lucky were the only ones in the world in that church.
Lucky and Siobhan are married, legally, with Elizabeth as an inadvertent witness.
Elizabeth appreciates Lucky’s gesture (a meaningful gift to their son Jake) when she gets back home.
Elizabeth and Lucky talk, mourn, fall apart, and embrace, while Siobhan feels like the third wheel. Lucky lets Elizabeth fall apart on him.

Tracy and Lulu dog Luke’s every move to try and get him clean.
Lulu harasses Lucky about alcoholism and rehab and staying away.
Tracy blocks Luke from entering the Haunted Star casino.
Luke wants to bring attorney Alexis into it, just so he can do what he wants without Lulu’s and Tracy’s interference.
Luke’s hittin’ the sauce hard again, and wants company. Ethan, wanna come with?
Over the giggle juice, Luke opens up to Ethan about what it was like to be abused by a good for nothing lush.
Ethan doesn’t get why Lulu’s so hard on Luke. It’s too much.

Lisa rigs Patrick and Robin’s house to spy on them, while leaving Johnny in the dark about her continued fixation. In order to do this (spying), Lisa walks over a prone, drugged-up babysitter Kristina.
It gets real sick real fast as Lisa invades Patrick and Robin’s privacy in the worst way when she spies on them from afar as they make love.

Olivia and Steve do the bow chica wow wow. Sure beats him having to face Elizabeth at GH.

Next week: Brenda hates that Carly has inserted herself in the search for the long-lost child… Dante could die, because of what Sonny does next… Jax springs into gear… Like clockwork, Anthony maneuvers Michael by manipulating Abby as the attractive lure… Elizabeth changes her mind. She can’t bring herself to destroy Lucky with the Aiden paternity truth… Siobhan finds out for herself what Elizabeth knows and is trying to keep from Lucky. They’re all going to agree to leave Lucky out of this… Elizabeth and Jason try to recover from Jake by adoring Josslyn. This build on their foundation of good will… As Patrick and Robin playfully tease one another, Lisa concocts what she thinks is a foolproof plan to end them… Maxie wonders what Matt is doing with a ring in his pocket. Is it for her? **

If I remember correctly, ABC plans to fill the cancelled AMC & OLTL hours with 2 new shows ... So if Katie Couric's new talk show is planned to fill GH's hour, what show does ABC plan to fill the hour left open when the Oprah show ends? ... In other words, why can't ABC just replace Oprah's show with Katie Couric's and leave GH alone ...

Because Brian Frons is an evil little man who hates daytime dramas, and GH is considered to be losing money because it is much more expensive to make than an unscripted cheapie talk show...

Well, IMO, I don't really think that tv needs yet another unscripted talk or reality show, that's for sure ... aren't there enough on Bravo, TLC, HGTV, WEtv, A&E, etc., already? ... I know I'm not planning to watch any of the new daytime shows planned on ABC (they sound like been-there-done-that-boring) & I am not a fan of Katie Couric's, so her show is of no interest to me either ... I sure hope ABC comes to their senses & just leaves GH alone ...

Oprah is a syndicated show sold to the local affiliates. Her time slot is not network, it is local.

I am really surprised that a cable network has not stepped in to pick up the dropped soaps. Even at the supposedly low rating they're pulling in, I think it would be a boost to a great number of the other networks. I'm sure there would be some salary adjustments for some of the biggest-named actors, but I think most would take a cut to keep a job. With the continued decline in scripted television, those with jobs most likely will be very interested in keeping them.

I was particularly surprised that Oprah put the kibbosh on the notion her network would pick up the shows. She has the deep pockets to get the process started & I really believe there is money to be made & viewers who would watch.

I would love it if OWN picked up the shows. Yes, there is money to be made and many people have said before that ABC really has no idea how many people actually watch the show since they tape or TIVO them and then there is Soapnet too (which is over next year, thanks again ABC). I have been watching practically all my life and have never once been asked what shows I watch. ABC is really making a mistake here. I read they have even asked the girls on The View and Kelly Ripa to stop whining and complaining about the cancellations. Who the heck do they think they are? I hope Brian Frons gets fired over this and more and more sponsors start pulling their ads and money from the network. I for one will never watch any of their new shows on ABC. Thank goodness I still have Y&R to watch. But for how long?

Oprah Winfrey has stated that her network will not be picking up ANY soaps. That is not the direction she wants to take the OWN network.

I am very sad that many of the SOAPS are being canceled ... but to put MORE talk shows on .. holy cow.... I refuse to be hustled by ABC.
I understand if ABC feels they have to tighten their belts, decrease cost by cutting actors, splashy stories etc. However SOAPS have been the meat and potatoes for daytime tv since the start of tv!

I was a longtime fan of AMC, OLTL.. but stopped watching about 2 years ago. GH is still a daily one hour escape from reality for me. Sometimes I disagree with TPTB story line or actor choice... but I remain faithful.
