Fans rejoice! ABC now confirms that Rebecca Herbst will continue on General Hospital as Elizabeth Webber Spencer, just a month after announcing that she’d be written off this spring. “The show is thrilled she will remain on the canvas to portray the beloved character in many more poignant and emotional stories. Fans will be pleased to see Rebecca continue the role she created,” according to a network statement.

Indeed, fans went into overdrive with outrage when they found out that beloved Elizabeth would no longer be in Port Charles, writing letters and making calls. Her ouster even sparked rumors that GH was undergoing massive budget cuts — similar to cost reductions on The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives — but ABC denied such a movement was afoot.

Herbst has played Elizabeth on GH since 1997. She’s been nominated twice for a Daytime Emmy

I'm going to be pretty POd if they kill Jake off. What is it about Liz and Jason that the writers don't want them to have a connection? It would be a powerful story for Liz and Jason but I think they just want to make way for Liz and Lucky and I could care less about that.

I think that Spinelli is mixed up with the Balkan. One of the earlier shows when Brenda came to Port Charles.......They showed the Balkan on the phone telling someone they wanted to know when Brenda was going out for a walk and then they showed Spinelli talking on the phone saying that Brenda was leaving for a walk..........I was shocked that I haven't seen anyone talk about that happening on that show and now that the Balkan knew EVERYTHING that happened at the wedding, just proves that someone there was feeding him information.........could this be another re-write? OR was the scene that played out long ago, just so we would think Spinelli had a connection. At one point spoilers were saying that we would be shocked as to who is connected, which lead me to believe it was Spinelli, but I couldn't figure out why they let that cat out of the bag so early.......once again, unless it was a re-write......Franco and Balkan do seem to have a connection.....but if Shawn was to grab Brenda before the wedding......how did they plan the explosion, unless they just planned a back up plan just in case???? yeah, I think the baby is still alive also......I'm thinking the writers are forgetting things that they have written and now with all the re-writes they are getting things wrong

Isn't Franco behind the explosion, not Balkan?

I don't watch GH often anymore but I'm watching it now and am laughing at James Franco... did anyone else catch is reference to hosting the Oscars and his movie 127 minutes?

He said something like.... I've got a special event to go to tonight... that's what I get for being stuck between a rock and a hard place

I caught it, and thought it was just dumb. I can't stand Franco, and the storylines are just stupid withhim.

Yes! I love James Franco! I wasn't familiar with him before his appearances on GH and I think he's adorable!

I'm thrilled that he's enjoying his GH run and is eager to keep his character going.

As soon as I saw Franco sitting at the table/desk picking his nails with a knife I just knew that it was a reference to the movie. Very clever and entertaining!

I'm really hoping that she is dead but I doubt it. When she gets to GH they'll probably realize she has a faint pulse or something and she'll be fine in no time. I really don't like Sam and would love to see her gone.

I like Sam; I just don't like her with Jason. I'd rather see Jason is a passionate affair with Elizabeth. However, the writers have done a good job making Liz look like a desperate fool that no one would want.

Sam dead? I just don't see it. Years ago, after Dancing with the Stars, I heard rumors about the actress leaving but it never happened. I can see the faint pulse idea happening. In soap-land this is a definite possibility.

I'm sorry and trying not to be gross or morbid, but if a car blows up and has that much fire, shouldn't the body inside be burned almost beyond recognition? I was waiting for the emt to say that they couldn't identify the body but only find Brenda's rings, but then her be alive somewhere. I want to know now, how they switched Brenda with Sam and nobody saw???? Everyone was outside plus the security?

The Balkin probably just chlorophormed her or something, so he could get away..but then again, I only saw where Sam got intp the car and he was in the back seat...so no idea what happened until I saw Sam in todays episode.

OMG I said the same thing...

I love KM but just not crazy over her character.. She is just too needy with Jason. I liked her character when she was single.

I hate how they are making Liz..

I read through my directv previews of next week and I a couple of the day's they mentions something about Sam acting strange... I am not in front of my TV so I don't have the exact wording at the moment.
