July 17, 2009 General Hospital SPOILERS - Coming Up Next Week (and the next)

To catch things up, I'm starting out today with SPOILERS for the couple of weeks. I'll bring you RUMORS a bit later. Here's what's coming up on our favorite soap, General Hospital.

This week, 7.20-24
**As we know, Claudia ends up in a terrible car accident this week. Claudia has just learned that the baby she is carrying is Sonny's and is rushing home to tell Sonny the news. When one of three people cause Claudia to flip her car, one of them could be one of Sonny's kids! An angry Michael, a hurt Kristina and a tipsy Alexis. When the accident occurs, Carly is close by and saves Claudia by pulling her from the car just before it explodes. This accident will not be good news for either of the pregnant women.

Johnny heads over to tell Sonny about Claudia and finds Olivia and Sonny kissing! When Sonny learns from Johnny that Claudia has been in a car accident, he reluctant to believe him. Johnny also tells Sonny he is the father of Claudia's baby, again not believing him. Claudia has a brain injury and later, Carly is admitted to the hospital requiring strict bed rest to avoid any stress. Robin and Patrick inform Sonny and Claudia that she needs medication as the next course of action for her injuries. However, the result could cause Claudia to miscarry her baby. Claudia refuses the medication but opts for surgery instead, putting her life in danger to save her baby. Before surgery, she informs Sonny that the baby she is carrying is his. Meanwhile, Sonny apologizes to Claudia for how he treated her before the accident.

When Robin almost takes a tumble down the stairs (is it those dreaded stairs from hell again?), Patrick is put out of commission when he catches her, injuring his finger. The pressure is put on Matt when he becomes Claudia's surgeon. Johnny threatens to kill Patrick if anything happens to his sister during surgery. Matt is successful, but by the end of the week, Kelly arrives with devastating news when Claudia learns that her baby has died during surgery.

Meanwhile, Michael admits to Jason that he thinks he could have caused the accident. Jason assists in covering up any evidence that could lead to Michael.

In addition, Kristina believes she may have caused the accident and calls her sister, Sam. But will she tell her?

Later, Michael confesses to Kristina that he may have caused Claudia's accident, but again, Kristina keeps the truth to herself that she too could have caused the accident. Sam learns that Alexis may have been on the road that night and could have also caused the accident. Michael decides to turn himself in to the police after he has convinced himself he is guilty of causing Claudia's accident. Jason arrives just as Michael is admitting to Mac he is responsible. Despite protests by Diane and Jason, Mac has no choice but to arrest Michael. Meanwhile, Kristina is accusing her mother of letting Michael take the fall. Later, Jason and asks Robin to talk with Mac on Michael's behalf. Robin is successful and has Michael released from jail.
Jason takes Michael to the Quartermaines after he is released from jail.

When Carly faints Jax rushes her to the hospital. She is placed on bed rest when they learn the slightest stress could cause Carly to have a fatal stroke. Jax keeps Michael's situation from Carly. The truth doesn't stay hidden long when she sees the local news. Carly's stress level goes extremely high and puts her in danger of losing her baby. Carly is adamant that Michael did not cause Claudia's accident. Meanwhile, Sam drops the bombshell on Alexis that Kristina could have been the one responsible for the accident.

Also this week:
Maxie arrives on the rooftop after following a series of clues left by Spinelli. Spinelli and Jason have turned the rooftop into a romantic wonderland, where Spinlli waits with the ring, which he drops on the roof! He is interrupted by noise pollution, but eventually gets back to his proposal.

With Max and Milo close by, Sonny confronts the country club president about his treatment of Michael.

Maxie is tempted by a beautiful engagement ring offered by Spinelli in hopes she will accept his hand in marriage. She asks for more time to decide.

Sonny sends Jason to Olivia's to apologize, surprising both Dominic and Olivia when answering the door.

Sam questions Alexis parenting skills.

Olivia denies Dominic's observation about her and Sonny. He admits to Olivia that Sonny is his employer.

Diane confronts Alexis, asking if there is any possible way she could be responsible for Claudia's accident.

Alexis asks Sam if it's possible for her and Spinelli to erase footage of her at the Mayors house.


Next Week, July 27-31
When Sonny confronts Michael, he breaks down.

Carly accuses Alexis of framing Michael.

Sam becomes more convinced of Kristina's guilt and shocks Alexis with her theory about Kristina.

Claudia plots to avenge her unborn child's death.

Kristina refuses to leave Michael.

Alexis makes a surprising confession in order to protect Kristina.

Ethan is ready for a fresh start from Rebecca.

Sam and Jason team up to find Kristina and Michael.

When Maxie sees Spinelli with Mac, she panics.

Carly picks up on the sparks between Olivia and Sonny.

Lucky and Ethan become unlikely allies.

Kristina and Michael skip town when they head for Mexico.

Olivia continues to fight her feelings for sonny.

Jerry Jax is back, and plans to use Michael as a pawn to get Jason**

Three peeps on the road--who caused the accident? Michael, Alexis or Kristina?

Claudia goes off the deep end after her baby dies.

Alexis decides to take the blame to protect Kristina

Jerry's back in town to make trouble for Sam

The teens run off to: MEXICO.

Carly is told she may have a stroke if she has any further stress.

Kristina will be in a "Dating Abuse" storyline. Austin-based Loveisrespect, National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline (NTDAH) is acting as an expert advisor on the GH storyline. Palm Beach Daily News

Claudia must undergo surgery to save her life--unfortunately, she loses the baby in the process. Sonny apologizes for treating her so badly.

News: Could this be the end for Maxie & Spinelli?

Although Spinelli proposed, & made his intentions clear, what is causing Maxie's cold feet? And will she change her mind before it's too late?

Maxie knows how her Uncle Mac will react to her almost engagement. Lulu tells her it's best to be upfront with Mac. This week Maxie considers telling him, but she chickens out. But, Spindork wants to ask Mac for Maxie's hand in marriage. But, Maxie freaks out.

KS says that when Maxie tries to keep Mac from Spinelli she does not want Spixie fans to take it too seriously about Maxie's embarrassment. Because she says she doesn't like Mac knowing what is going on in her life. Every marriage she has witnessed has not worked, so why ruin a good thing?

That is what is holding her back.

Whether or not they walk down the aisle is anyones guess. "I'm not sure they're going with the whole wedding thing" KS admits. "I would prefer they go through with it. Can you see them as newlyweds? But if it does not happen, I know there will be some kind of validation for it and another great storyline between Maxie & the Ugly-***-Doofus to come right after it!"


News: Are Brenda & Jagger returning?

Long story short...No, they are not returning.

It's just a story about ASJ talking about his reality show & saying he would love to work with VM again.


News: CBS Soap steals another GH star.

SD is going to ATWT as a mafia guy. He plays Julie Pinson's uncle, and he has alot to do with Lynn Herrings character. His 1st tape date was July 10th.

WK is going to Days as Justin Kiriakis. He debuts on August 10th.


INS & OUTS:

GV sets record straight.(SID seems to be getting this from GV's tweets) Rumors have been swirling he was put on recurring months ago. But now Lucky may be heading out of town to help his brother Ethan find their wayward father. But, GV says he is not on recurring.

GV says: "I have enjoyed my time on GH for the last 7 years and I hope they have something AWESOME planned for Lucky...as in a big story for me!"


INS & OUTS Is Byrne here to stay?

The "Who killed the Mayor's mistress" story was only suppose to be 10 or 12 episodes. MB says "it's going to be a lot longer then that"

But how much longer? "As long as it works out with my life & GH's life and they're happy, then it's fine. it's a pleasant work environment & I've been welcomed with open arms. The truth is, when the situation presents itself, if it ever does, that is when I will answer it".

"I'm happy with what i am doing. Bob Guza has said there does not have to be an ending. He does not know when it's going to happen, but he has an idea for the ending"

MB says "He promises it will be very climactic exit to the story, which is going to be wonderful, whatever it is. As long as it's juicy"


INS & OUTS: Jerry is back...to get Jason!

Jerry stirs up trouble when he returns on July 31st. This will air well into August. "I was told not to be back for another year...then GH called me" laughs the actor.

Sonny & Michael hit a major roadblock on Monday July 27th

and Carly issues a harsh accusation on Tuesday July 28th

But things really get interesting on July 31st when Carly notices Sonny & Oliviaa are more then just friends.

Olivia tries to deny her feelings for Sonny have rekindled on Monday August 3rd, but is she only fooling herself?

While his Mom tires to repress her feelings, Dominic finds someone new to flirt with on August 4th

only to be knocked for a loop when he finds Olivia has been hooking up with Johnny on August 5th.

But that is nothing compared to what Dominic tries to keep underwraps on August 7th.

Moving Targets: Jerry wants Jason dead...and Sam could get caught in the crossfire. Picutre of Jason/Sam.

Claudia's need for revenge puts a deadly plot in motion, but when she loses control of the situaions Jason & Sam could find themselves fighting for their lives! A trap is about to be sprung & 2 innocent teens are being used as the bait in the ultimate game of cat & mouse!

Sonny Lashes out!
Wanting to protect Michael, Carly goes to the police & says that it was not Michael's car she saw hit Claudia. As Jax's worries about the stress to his wife & unborn baby, Carly points the finger at Alexis by saying it looked like her car!

Meanwhile, Sonny rips into Michael for his supposed role in the accident that killed his & Claudia's demon seed.

Michael is convinced he has been nothing but trouble since he awoke from the coma & decides to leave town.

"It's a matter of Michael lashing out, not wanting to hurt his family" explains SBu

Feeling guilty over recent events, Kristina decides to go with him.

Sam gets suspicious.
Across town Sam goes to Alexis with her concerns about Kristina...especially after learning the car that hit Claudia bears a striking resemblence to Alexis's car

Although Alexis does not want to hear it, Jason pays attention to Sam.

"I'm not going to let Michael take the hit for Kristina" says Burton in character. Sam asks for time to figure out what really happened & Jason agrees. THen Morgan gets an email from the antichrist saying he has left town. Not wanting to cause his mother any stress, Morgan goes to tell Jason not Carly.

SBu says he tells Morgan not to do anything & that he will try to find Michael before Carly has to find out. He does not want to upset Carly.

Claudia wants revenge.
Still dealing with having lost her baby, Claudia sets her sights on revenge.

Despite privately acknowledging she was responsible for Michaels shooting, that does not, in her mind, excuse him for having taken her child.

But when Sonny asks his wife to back up Carly's story about the car not matching Michael's car, she does! But she has not forgiven Michael. Instead upon learing Michael & Kristina left town Claudia calls Jerry & asks him to track the teens down. Jason/Sam also go look for the teens, and Alexis puts out an APB to track them down.

A mothers love
CarJax are stunned Alexis informs them the teens are considered fugatives. The police investigation show either Kristina or Alexis caused Claudia's accident.

Alexis goes to the police station to confess. But is she covering for Kristina?

The teens wind up being pulled over by the cops. But Kristina is a good liar & gets the cop to let them go.

Deciding it's time to change modes of transportation, they get on a bus to Mexico.

A Love Re-Connection?
Hot on the trail of the teens, Jason/Sam have a run in with the cops. They soon have bigger problems b/c their car breaks down cause of Spin.

SBu says Spin tried to turn his car into a hybrid. SBu says it's sooooooooo funny.

Eventually they get the car fixed, and that helps let them find a major clue when they find michael's abandoned car. "We figure they hopped a bus. Cause the mercedes would have raised a red flag"

All this time leads to Jason/Sam reflecting on their past. Could the former lovers be headed for a reunion? "They have situations where they are pairing us up to work together" says SBu "If this is going to lead to something romantically, the writers are taking their time in a different way & not throwing them together"

Deathtrap!
Claudia finds out that Alexis confessed to the accident, she calls Jerry & calls off the search.

But that is not how the sociopath see things playing out. Instead he decides the teens would be the perfect bait for luring Jason to his doom! Jason/Sam split in order to find the teens. By the time Sam arrives at the hotel the teens are staying at they're facing new danger. In the end, Jerry gets into a confrontation that leaves bodies in his wake...but who ends up paying the ultimate price?


Hottest Story! Sonny falling for Olivia!

Sonny is between a rock & a hard place when he finds that the only thing standing b/t him & the woman he is falling for is his wife. How far will Sonny go to be with Olivia? Possibly a lot further then you think!

Olivia is sleeping with Johnny, but Sonny is the one that got away. Carly notices Olivia feelings for SOnny. Carly warns Olivia that once his marriage is over he will be hard to resists.

Meanwhile, Sonny has conflicting emotions revolving around Claudia. He tells Olivia that until he resolves his guilt he feels regarding Claudia he can not consider another emotional involvment.

Then Olivia decides to tell Johnny she wants him! But we are left wondering who exactly she wants to be with while in his bed!

Johnny confides to Claudia, & tells her that Olivia & Sonny were locking lips while she was dealing with the aftermath of the spawns death. Johnny warns Claudia she has no hold over Sonny without the baby. Unaware that Sonny is talking to his dad about getting a divorce, Claudia continues to believe her place is secure.

"Sonny is 'in a place'; Olivia is 'in a place'" MB laughs "There are always feeling for her underneath. but he's still married. not that it is really a marriage, but you know what I am saying"

Of course should Sonny find out about Claudia's role in Michael's shooting, their marriage - and her life- might come to an end swift!

About the stupidity of Michael's parents just getting him a license. But apparently the DMV does not apply to mob kids.

Can someone explain why we are suppose to give a rats *** who killed the mayor's mistress? The entire story revolves around people we don't know! And the one character it directly impacts (Alexis) is made to look like a tramp having a ONS with a married man.

We did, however, love when Patrick tried convincing Robin they could talk about something other then the case & suggested they go out to dinner.

I totally agree! I can't believe anyone liked them together! I don't think I ever liked Sam with anyone. I don't mind her on her own, but for some reason when she is hooked up with any guy I just DO NOT care for her.

Steve Burton Signs New Contract

"From all reports, it looks as if Steve Burton has re-signed to stay on as Jason Morgan. This is good news indeed. Burton was supposed to make a decision by March. Apparently he negotiated some time off. I wrote previously that ABC/Disney should do whatever it took to keep him, and it looks like they did. Whatever the terms, he's important to General Hospital, in the opinion of this writer, and I hope this widely-disseminated news is true."

Ok, I'm watching GH now and every time Dante calls Olivia "mom" I crack up. It's so unbelievable that she could be his mother. What, did she have him when she was 7?? I just can't buy the mother/son thing, I just can't. He seems like he's as old as she is.
