**Monica's boozing and losing on 'GH'

Monica's son Jason has bad news for her today on "General Hospital": He knows she is the one who hit Sam.
"There were surveillance tapes, so he confronts her with that," says Leslie Charleson, who plays the hit-and-runner. "Monica is not at all receptive."
Indeed, she tries to lie her way out of it.
"She makes a feeble attempt," says Charleson, "but Jason says if she doesn't admit it, then he's turning her in to the police."
Mother and son have a huge fight over her drinking and that she drove drunk and almost killed Sam. Jason orders her to get help and storms out.
"Monica packs up and leaves, avoiding the whole situation," says Charleson. "Then she crashes her car."
Fortunately, "this time she doesn't hit anybody. She just hits a guard rail and ends up in the hospital."
Where they realize immediately that Dr. Monica Quartermaine is drunk.
"She's busted completely, and gives it up," says Charleson. "I don't think she can get much lower at this point. Jason comes to her. He makes a really lovely gesture. He says he would like to help."
They discuss Alan and Emily's deaths, and the toll they have taken on Monica. But the physician has no time to heal herself, because she is in so much legal trouble.
"What happens because of all the accidents is that Monica has to go to court," says the actress.
Sam decides not to press charges (using the rationale that Jason has already done enough to hurt Monica), but the cops still have enough to charge her.
"She was drunk, so she doesn't remember a lot of it," says Charleson. "We'd love to think Monica was going to get help after all this, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they are not going to visit Monica's rehab. It would be fun to do that, though. She needs it."
With her family decimated, will the silver lining in this terrible story be that it brings Monica closer to Jason?
"I would assume that it would, because a lot of the anger and the hurt and everything she has felt kind of goes away," says the actress. "She realizes in her heart that [Alan and Emily's deaths] were not all Jason's doing."
Unbeknownst to Monica, Jason has a baby with Elizabeth, which makes Monica a grandmother. In the weeks to come, Jason will ask Elizabeth if they can comfort Monica by telling her Jake is her grandson.
"That would be nice," says Charleson, "although we don't want her to start baby-sitting or she'll always be in the 'other room!'"**

You know if it is him, I don't think they should kill him...I think someone should kidnap him, make it look like they killed him and then after a few months bring him back and re age him. They need some teens for the summer story lines. They really don't have anymore teenagers.

AGAIN?...didn't we go through this once before...? With the writers back they can't think of something we haven't already seen? While this is bound to be sad..it's been done. I'm also sick of seeing them kill off long time charcters. Enough with all the death on this show!

**Carly and Jax raise a little Cain on Sonny on the topic of Michael.

Losing their unborn baby puts a strain in Carly and Jax's marriage.

Carly should tend to Jax, but she puts her mind to antagonizing Kate. But first she must amass enough ammo to blow her rival out of the water. She recruits Lulu to somehow become indispensable to Kate and report back to her about everything.

Jason takes a crack at justifying his reasons for leaving out Michael's gun fascination in past talks with Carly.

At first, Kate resists Jax joining in on their magazine creation, let him just be the bank. No matter, Kate and Jax soon learn to adjust as one professional unit.

Kate uses Jax as an outlet, a sounding board for what ails her, and shuts Sonny out.

Maxie rubs Lulu raw by boasting about her newest gig as Kate's righthand fashionista-a position Lulu needs for Carly.

Sonny steps into the middle of a hellish fracas between his woman and Claudia.

Robin prepares to lecture Claudia (shades of Robin versus the original Carly) on her HIV bigotry. She really would rather stick needles in her eyes.

Claudia lets it slip that Sonny's reputation preceded him in that motel room. She wasn't as stupid as she let on.

Claudia badgers Luke on insider Sonny scuttlebutt.

Tracy catches sight of Claudia huddled with Luke and naturally assumes that's a
hooker he's consulting with.

Tracy allows Luke back into her life and her abode.

Claudia presents Ian (and Jerry) with an opportunity to waste Sonny. And then, she'll cooperate with their shipments.

Claudia tries to sic Jason on Trevor, for another hit.

Marianna and Ric give in to trepidation as Randy's corpse surfaces.

Trevor waves proof in front of Ric's face that Marianna committed manslaughter on Randy.

Ric feels he has no choice but to get Trevor off both his and Marianna's backs. He does this by handing his share of the piers over to his father.

Marianna's secret collusion with Trevor reaches Ric's ears.

Ric wants Marianna to explain to him how this collusion happened. In his mind, she already practiced treachery with him and so she's over.

Marianna concedes there was collusion, but she had come to change her mind and be with Ric, to hell with Trevor. She implores Ric not to let what happened set him backwards.

Ric proposes he and Sonny band together to whip Trevor.

Trevor dares Sonny to be man enough to null and void him, and then have to face Kate and his boys. That shuts Sonny down.

Ric seeks a joint venture with Anthony to overthrow Trevor. He dangles a chance at freedom.

Jerry declines to end someone's life.

Nikolas seeks proof from Ian of a lifetime reserve of his experimental medication before he'll fork over the Benjamins. This is all to perpetuate his Emily delusion.

Robin begins to lose courage over bringing a new life into this world. What if something goes wrong? She senses her gestation could be doomed.

Lucky and Sam talk it out, determining whether they have a future as a couple. Sam offers to be out, but Lucky's in.

Sam interjects that it wasn't Elizabeth running her over after all, but Monica (thanks to the Jackal's super-sleuthing for Jason).

Monica's denials of any wrongdoing floor Jason. He reacts by saying if she doesn't come forward, he'll come forward for her.

Jason struggles to reach Monica, so she'll knock this problem drinking off. The addiction continues its stranglehold on her.

Monica drives her vehicle in another fender-bender, then conks out because of the booze.

Monica utters words of love and reconciliation for her boy Jason.

Sam tries to protect Monica from charges, but the cops have another idea in mind.

The woman must take it to the judge.

Spinelli pumps Jason on the ways of the Stone Cold into a lady's heart.

Next week: More strife between Lulu and Maxie… Sonny tires of heading up a contentious, dangerous mob. He imagines himself free and clear… Sonny prays for the staying power of this amnesty… Sonny and Ric are in league with each other for a common good… Calamity hits hard… Patrick and Robin unite, finding common bond.**

**Michael being shot brings Sonny and Calry closer. Kate and Jax will grow closer. Jason goes "Stone Cold" and seeks revenge on who is responsible and since she ordered the hit that includes her. Liz will not give up on her man and love will see them through and they will come through this.

Does he let Liz comfort him at all? Does he push her away? Or try to? How long does that last?

He will try and push her away. Its a mixed bag of things, Liz and the boys safety, anger and sadness about what has happened, wanting to find who did this. Liz will not let him push her away no matter how hard he tries. Its just a little more angst thrown your couple's way, but they will make it through and their plans will go through**

**Monica won't be around to mourn Michael. LC will be off of our screens for the entire month of April.

DC's last airdate is April 18th. We'll see him in his coma for 2 weeks. Carly and Sonny will refuse to remove him from life support and he will be sent out of town to a facility where medical miracles have occurred.

Carly will blame Sonny and Kate for bringing Michael to the place he was shot. Jax will place blame at Sonny's feet but will hold Kate blameless. In a moment of grief, he'll point at Carly's own actions as a contributing factor.

Sonny's guilt will begin a downward spiral for him and he'll begin to descend into madness once more. He wants to give up his rights to Morgan and pushes Diane to take measures to make that happen. Carly doesn't fight him but Jason does.

Jason will be hellbent on revenge believing his own family can't be safe until he wipes out anyone who wants to hurt them. He and Liz agree to keep their engagement and Jake's paternity under wraps until he's taken care of the danger. The safehouse returns allowing them to be together. It is also what ultimately gives Trevor an ace in the hole. **

**Jerry refuses to kill Sonny. Ian steps up to the plate and says he'll handle the job for Claudia.

Jerry finds out Michael is going to be at the place the hit is ordered and rushes to attempt to save Michael but he's too late

Michael is shot and recieves an injury to the head. Sonny falls apart.

Patrick does emergency surgery on Michael. Michael has a crisis on the table.

Carly blames Kate for her involvement in the incident and breaks down with Sonny when at the hospital.

Jax jumps in and defends Kate . Jax tells Carly that it's not Kate's fault, it's Sonny's. It's always Sonny's fault.

Jason is looking to seek revenge. Liz attempts to calm Jason down.

Patrick tells Carly and Sonny that there is little to no hope of recovery for Michael. Michael is placed on life support.

Jax is furious to see Carly attempting to console Sonny. Jax feels the need to get away.

Alexis hears news of Michael and becomes terrifed for her children.

Ric wants to know if Trevor was involved with the shooting.

Carly finally lashes out at Sonny. Sonny feels torn apart.

Carly doesn't want to leave Michael's side believeing that Michael will
wake up.

Alexis has a hard time handling the case of Michael's shooting. It's hitting too close to home. Sam and Alexis talk.

Liz wants to soend some time with Jason and the boys together. Lucky and her butt heads over that. Liz says Jason needs to remember not to do anything he'll regret and Jake gives him that reason.

Claudia attempts to think of a way out of this mess.

Johnny is furious with Claudia over the botched job. His guilt weighs on him.

Jerry attempts to comfort Jax and is weighed down by his own sense of responsibilty for what has happened.

Bobbie tries to get Carly to rest.

Jerry visits Alexis who breaks down about not being able to bear the idea of going through what Carly is right now. Jerry comforts Alexis.

Mike worries for Sonny's sanity.

Claudia and Johnny confront Ian who says to relax and maybe they can use this situation to their advantage. Sonny and Jason are weak and distracted.

Kate and Jax argue about Sonny. Jax is tried of everyone defending Sonny and Jason. They kill everyone they touch. He urges Kate to run away now.

Trevor has the same ideas at hand and he's suspicious of Claudia's involvment in Michael's shooting.

Jerry confronts Ian about Michael who in turns tells Jerry the same thing can happen to Alexis and her children.

LuLu visits Carly and attempts to console her.

Sonny conciders ending it all. Kate wills Sonny to keep going on.

LuLu leans on a guilt ridden Johnny.

Logan gets suspicious after overhearing Johnny in a conversation.

Jerry conciders coming clean with Alexis.

Liz admits she has fears over Jason's life but the truth about Jake won't remain hidden from Jason's enemies forever and she would rather fight them together then apart.

Liz tells Jason to think of their son before acting out of revenge. Jason starts to lose it by Michael's beside.

Carly blames herself for being a bad mother and begs Michael to wake up.

Patrick tells Carly that there are decisions that have to be made.

Patrick admits to Robin that watching the heartache of being a parent leaves him frightened of being a parent.**
