So sad to see that you lost that beautiful apple tree - especially one that had family meaning
This hot weather has been tough on all of our plants this year. It seams like I can't keep up with the watering - the ground is like a big sponge and the water just disappears so quickly. I water early before work and by dinner time everything is parched beyond belief.
They'll hold water for days.

I'd cut out the dead wood, suckers and trim anything that's rubbing against the house but not a hard cutback.

I had to wiki woodchucks last year to figure out what they were after a whole family of rodents had a fun time poking their heads out from under our barn and watching us. I ended up trapping 6 or 7 before they were finally gone. I was not a happy camper and of course DH wanted nothing to do with the trap

: Maybe all of it.

Lots of squash growing. I have 1 hot pepper that may get picked this week. Cucumbers are doing well. They really need a trellis of some sort. Corn tassles are starting too. Oh, and lots of tomatoes.
Can't believe I'm looking forward to a rainy day
