The Frumps Have Hit the Wall... And No One's Mad. "FART SHOES." UPDATE 1/20

Chef Mickey's.

Omg, I remember you tweeting about getting beer spilled on you, Kristen, but I was so confused because I had no idea where yall were! I was like... in MK?! Hahaha. But seriously, that's terrible. And disgusting. :sad2:

It's the best.

Hahaha do you really? No alcohol in MK!! Contemporary problems...:upsidedow I was annoyed, but that actually has happened to me a few times before then, so I'm kind of getting used to it.

What a lovely dinner!! :goodvibes The characters seemed great! I love it when they are really interactive! I think my favorite was when Goofy tried to Waltz with me! :rotfl: It wasn't pretty!!

Ugh! I hate it when that happens! I was just at a hockey game over Thanksgiving break and some lady next to me got a cup of soda DUMPED on her from the people standing above! It was horrible!!! I felt so bad! Beer is even worse!

What a magical ending! I love Wishes! I think that if I heard it over the phone, I'd get emotional too! :rotfl2:

616,just wanted to caution you that if you dine at BOG during your trip, they are serving alcohol there(still hard to believe)so with your propensity to "attract" alcohol spillage from others,BEWARE!:)

Your Chef Mickey’s experience sounds amazing! The character interaction sounds like it was fantastic, and so does the food! NOMS.

It really was! I love that too. I think when you play along with them, the interactions are just golden! Hahaha that's hilarious! I bet it was fun.

Ew that's SO gross. I would feel awful after that :(

It's really beautiful!

Haha she is! And I think it'll be nice and classy in there, so hopefully she won't have to worry!

Update 15: Magic Kingdom Extra Magic Hours!
May 13th, 2012

We took the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours! We weren't done yet!!

We had to take some nighttime castle pictures:

Classic frump hug picture:

Frump hats represent!

dsc01452k.jpg

dsc01462fo.jpg

We are just so cute.

Mike and Katie:

dsc01382j.jpg

SO GORGEOUS.

dsc01482qd.jpg

dsc01492v.jpg

This is one of my favorite pictures that I have ever taken at Disney.

dsc01522a.jpg

To Fantasyland we go!

dsc01542mh.jpg

Our first stop was PhilharMagic, which is one of my FAVORITES. (if you didn't already know.)

dsc0157uq.jpg

dsc01582q.jpg

I pretty much just lost control of myself. I sang EVERY WORD of that show and danced to the whole thing. I was just high on Disney. Maybe I was a little food drunk, now that I think about it.

We definitely were. Chef Mickey's and Le Cellier in the same day = food inebriation.

dsc01602af.jpg

Then we went on It's a Small World... which made me really tired.

dsc01652jl.jpg

That ride always makes me so tired!

Then Snow White was next! Yes, it was still open. However, it was closing at the end of that month.

SQUIRREL, SQUIRREL, SQUIRREL.

dsc01732pz.jpg

Kindred.

We used the restrooms that were OBVIOUSLY reserved for royalty.

dsc01742d.jpg

They're my favorite!

Then we rode Winnie the Pooh, followed by The Mad Tea Party. We got in a purple cup. We took it pretty easy because we had a big dinner/we were filled to the brim with food. Obviously.

dsc01752hn.jpg

Then we went over to Splash Mountain! There was literally NO wait. We sat in the first two rows and we got SOAKED!

THE BIRDS WERE ALIVE!

dsc0179m.jpg

Here's our ride photo:

dsc01812tk.jpg

The cast member near the photos was like "what exactly are you looking for?" We told her "the briar patch, of course!"

How clever of us.

We went in the gift shop and there were four cast members in there with pin lanyards! I traded for one of the mystery pins and I got a fish playing the tuba from Under the Sea! Kristen traded for one too and got a Mickey Snowman!

Then we went on Pirates of the Caribbean. We tried calling the POTC ghost, George, but he didn't answer. Maybe next time!

We got off the ride exactly at 1 o'clock and walked out of the park. Before we left, I wanted to mail my postcard to Preston from Main Street USA! Did you all know that there are these operating mailboxes right in the middle of Magic Kingdom!? Well there is!

dsc01832n.jpg

dsc01842fz.jpg

Then it was time to say goodbye for the night.

dsc01922ad.jpg

dsc01932i.jpg

We stood on the bus ride home and arrived back to Saratoga. Here are our pin inventories for the day!

Update #15: Disney’s Animal Kingdom
May 14th, 2012

We got up in the morning, showered, and were ready for another Disney day! Where were we headed? DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM!

dsc0229mq.jpg

We arrived there a little after opening. It was very cloudy on this day, which is good because usually Animal Kingdom is boiling hot!

dsc02142cd.jpg

We went over to Kali River Rapids to get fastpasses, and then walked to Everest so we could have some YETI TIME! Unfortunately, there were some technical problems with the mountain at the current moment, so we had to come back later.

dsc02032a.jpg

dsc02052b.jpg

So for breakfast, I was going to get my cupcake from Kusafari but they weren't being served until 10:30 am. After this rejection, I moped away sadly.

We decided on Tamu Tamu refreshments for breakfast instead.

dsc02152jj.jpg

I got this ham and cheese flat bread for breakfast. (I feel like Mike, Katie, and Dave did, too) It was alright... but even to this day I regret getting it. It was WAY too heavy. My food consumption level was through the roof during this trip and this just wasn't worth it at all. I should have gotten a yogurt or something.

Yeah thy did. Jess was having a food hangover this morning. Ah well. Everyone has their limit!

dsc0217vt.jpg

Kristen got the pastry plate:

dsc02162en.jpg

We left and started walking. We saw DiVine! She's absolutely beautiful.

dsc02222q.jpg

We took some Tree of Life pictures!

dsc02232f.jpg

dsc02252r.jpg

dsc0228xu.jpg

Then we went over to Expedition Everest again and the line was only 10 minutes! SCORE! The ride had just opened back up.

dsc02312gg.jpg

It was very fun and a whole lot of Stacey quoting went down. No surprises there. #frumplife

dsc02332q.jpg

In the gift shop, one of us traded for this grumpy vinylmation:

dsc02362wh.jpg

We grabbed Kilimanjaro fastpasses and then went on Dinosaur. All I have noted in my trip journal about it is that "it smells good in there." HAHA so true though.

This is quite the ride picture bahaha. I think Mike is my favorite, though. He's just sitting there, facing forward and smiling. And Katie is just like "yikes, that's a little scary!"

dsc02372ny.jpg

Bahahah Mike. I must go congratulate him on this...

Then we went on Kali River Rapids and we got pretty soaked!

dsc02382hn.jpg

dsc0239ux.jpg

I'm glad we took the fancy camera out to take a picture on Kali. That was a choice on my part.

dsc02402hw.jpg

Kilimanjaro Safaris was the next stop. TIME FOR ANIMAL PICTURES, GUYS!

dsc02412rj.jpg

dsc02422lu.jpg

The giraffes were particularly cute on this day! They're my favorites. (:

dsc02542su.jpg

dsc02592c.jpg

ELEPHANTS ARE MY OTHER FAVORITE!

dsc02642tf.jpg

dsc02682ra.jpg

dsc02772cz.jpg

This was my first time riding since they got rid of the whole "Simba One" and "Little Red" ended. Although a lot of people weren't a fan, I thought it was cute. The ending they presented us with on this day was BORING. Literally all our guide said was "I think I see poachers. I'll have to tell someone about that. And this will cut our safari short." Hoop dee doo. (and not the Revue!) I hope they make up something more creative and SOON!

I feel like they probably will with new zebra section.

Yes, knowing that now it seems logical. We will have to see!

However, our guide DID announce to the whole car that it was my birthday! So that was super exciting! She redeemed herself.

Update #15: CUPCAKE DOWN and JESS HITS A WALL.
May 14th, 2012

After the safari, I wanted my Zebra cupcake. Mike waited with me while everyone else went to the bathroom.

I got my beloved cupcake and picked it up. I was admiring its beauty and my excitement got the best of me. My hands were apparently a bit wobbly and about 3 seconds after I picked up the plate, I DROPPED THE CUPCAKE ON THE GROUND. OMG I'M SUCH A FRUMP.

dsc02812gt.jpg

"Mike put it back! I need to take a picture!" "Uhhh okay."

Oh yeah! Mike picked it up and then I made him set it back down so I could document the moment. Trip reporting at it's finest, people.

Apparently the look on my face showed pure devastation, so a kind cast member gave me a new one. I was happy once again.

dsc02822na.jpg

That cupcake was YUMMY. I wish I would have had more room for it, obviously. The frosting was AMAZING. Ahh you have no idea how bad I'm craving a good Disney cupcake right now.

dsc02832ff.jpg

ME TOO. NOM.

Next we went over to Dinoland and went on Primeval Whirl. If you remember, that ride was closed for quite a bit of time... however, I have NO idea what the refurbs were that they did. It looked the same to me.

The refurb just wasn't real.

Then for some reason everyone wanted to eat AGAIN. Okay guys...  Our lunch destination was Pizzafari.

The CM's behind the counter gave me and Kristen cupcakes for our birthdays! How sweet... too bad my food stamina was deteriorating by the second.

dsc02882v.jpg

dsc02902r.jpg

I got a veggie pizza, but I could barely touch it.

dsc02862tp.jpg

I hardly ate any of the salad.

dsc0289la.jpg

And I didn't even touch the chocolate mousse.

dsc02912u.jpg

I HIT THE WALL SO HARD. It was all over. If you all know me, I DON'T get full. Well..... this is one of those days where I did. The food in my system probably could have sustained me for a whole week. NO MORE.

I apologize because this is not my best picture... but Kristen captured me hitting the wall. DERP so done.

dsc02962qx.jpg

Does that mean I never ate again for the rest of the trip? PSH no. I came back to my senses after this little mishap. IT'S FINE. FOOD IS GOOD. I LOVE FOOD.

Anyways... everyone else got pepperoni pizzas, caesar salads, and chocolate mousse.

dsc02872k.jpg

I ate mine! NEVER FULL.

I'm glad they enjoyed it!

dsc02942gb.jpg

After Pizzafari, we went to Island Mercantile. Kristen found her Mom a teapot and a shirt. Also, for my birthday she got me a "Fairest One of All" pillow that matched my newly painted room! THANKS KRISTEN!

dsc09342b.jpg

You're welcome. (:

Benjamin from the Bronx was the cast member who helped us check out and ship the tea pot. He was a peach. He was very helpful and friendly!

I loved him!

Then everyone went on It's Tough to be a Bug while I went to go meet up with my friend Kerry!

Kerry and I took confirmation classes together when I was in 10th grade, and my Mom actually taught her when she was in 2nd grade! I found out through facebook that she was on the DCP, so of course I had to say hi! She was actually leaving a few days later so I'm lucky that I caught her before the end of her program.

Kerry worked in merchandise and was placed in DinoLand! Depending on the day, she worked at the carts, the carnival games, or the stores. She was really glad to see me and loved to see how much I loved Disney!

dsc03022tp.jpg

After chatting for about 10-15 minutes, we said our goodbyes! I went to meet back up with Kristen and family. Katie got a corn dog because she didn't like the pizza. (Which me and Kristen still resent her for. HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE DISNEY PIZZA!?! Clearly she has a tastebud malfunction.)

Yeah I just don't get it.

At that point, it was time to head out of Animal Kingdom. We went to the bus stop. After a few out-of-service busses, our Saratoga Springs bus showed up. Thank goodness.

We got back to the room and I fell ASLEEP. You know that wall I hit? YEAH. It resulted in SLEEPING IN DISNEY. I'm so sincerely sorry. I was out for about half and hour. Then it was time to get up and get going again!

It's true. I was there.

Very nice Splash photo. :clapping: (Wait, there's no smiley for that. Dang yall. It would have been cute.)

"We left and started walking." You mean... yall didn't float through Animal Kingdom? Whaa...?

Hahha that Dinosaur picture of Mike IS hilarious. Oh lord. He's such a proper young man. :groom:

Hahaha that would have been cute! Darn.

BAHAHAH I know right!? We were too heavy from all of the food we'd been eating. We couldn't float. :sad2:

Isn't it though? Hahaha yes he is. :snooty:

Woohoo! So much Frump reading material today. I'm lovin it!!

Oh my god, in that Splash ride picture, you guys are hilarious as usual but it seems like one of the people in the 2nd to last row is sleeping/dead.

What is this about mystery pins? I don't think I'm aware of this, but it sounds awesome!

OH MAN. I totally know about hitting the food wall after this last trip. I honestly at one point did not want food of any kind. And in the morning at Animal Kingdom it was actually going on for me too. I even ate - get this - carrots and celery with light ranch dressing for breakfast just bc I knew I had to have *something* in my stomach for park touring. I didn't eat anything else until hours later. IN DISNEY! It was insane. But I just had no desire for food. I was steps away from the Zebra Cupcake and I was eating RAW VEGETABLES. Jess, hold me. I need support here.

AHH I love the Grumpy Vinylmation! I have a Mickey one kind of like that. They are really creative.

Mike on Dinosaur is the best thing I have seen all day. I love the twin girls behind you guys, one of them is just like "yeah dinosaurs whatev not scared of you" and the other one is like AHHH! Oh, ride photos.

I see from your cupcake picture you got the new-and-NOT-improved Zebra Cupcake. Le sigh. It used to be a lot better. When I actually did have it on this trip I was surprised that they changed it. I mean, it was still AMAZING but not as good! I still ate the whole thing, obviously, since this was pre-me hitting the food wall.

Look, don't feel bad, I also slept in Disney a lot my last few days. Of course now I'm like GAH I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN UP EARLIER ETC ETC but I was so freaking tired. Being stuck in Disney is REALLY tiring!!

Great updates, y'all!!

I have to say, I totally get the food wall! It seems like when you get to Disney you just want to consume every glorious thing in sight! Then you do and you're in trouble! Many people should do what Adam Richmond does on Man vs Food and actually "prepare" for dining at Disney! Kinda like a food competition ;)

That pizza looks delish!! I can't wait to get me some here in about, oh 11 DAYS!!

And I love, love, LOVE your ride pics!! The poses you two come up with are hilarious!!

Why thank you! Hahahaha you are so right- they do! Woops.

Yeah! They're really fun!

Oh boy. That's crazy. But I've totally been there. It's okay, we understand. Sometimes, you just have to eat...vegetables.

Hahahaha I know. He's a frump. I didn't notice them though! Too funny! Ride photos are the best. Stick a dinosaur in the faces of a bunch of people and take a picture. You'll capture their personality to the tee.

Exactly! It gets a little overwhelming. If I wouldn't gain so much weight in "preparation" (ala Man vs. Food) I would totally do that!

Oh it was! AHH so exciting! You'll be there when I am!

Thanks! We are such creative little Frumps.

I love you dresses on your AK day. Gorgeous!

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

Update #16: "YUMMY CHICKEN AND YUMMY SHRIMP!"

May 14th, 2012

Hello everyone! I will be headed to Disney in just a few days, so enjoy these last couple updates before I'm off! For everyone who doesn't know, my latest TR is up and running and can be found HERE!

Also, I wanted to say a big HAPPY 111TH BIRTHDAY, WALT DISNEY! Today is the day that this very important man was born, and he has brought us over a century of magic filled with happiness, and memories! THANK YOU, WALT!

Anyways, onto the update!

We hightailed it on over to Epcot around 5, after Jess had her nap. I know, she slept in Disney. How rude.

It was lightning and thundering pretty badly while we were on the bus, but it was just raining once we arrived.

The first order of business was to get our birthday buttons fixed! Everyone was calling us "Smudgy" because the rain and our intense Disney touring had taken its toll on them. We went to Gateway gifts and the CM there let us fix our names and put tape over them.

TIP: If you intend to get a celebration button with something written on it while you're in Disney, be sure to bring your own Sharpie with you so you can touch it up! We were wishing we had one a lot.

Also, if you put a piece of scotch tape over your written name on the pin, it won't smudge at all! It's a very good trick!

After that, we headed to Innoventions (more like sprinted...it was raining) and decided to do Sum of All Thrills! Mike and Katie went together and so did Jess and I. Dave watched.

dsc03092iw.jpg

It was pretty fun! Jess and I didn't get super intense with our coaster so it wasn't exactly the "Sum of All Thrills," but more like "The Sum of Sum Thrills." :rotfl2:

I crack myself up.

That actually wasn't that funny.

Oh well.

Anywho...We left Innoventions after that and headed to World Showcase. We had a Teppan Edo reservation that evening!

We headed to Japan via the Canada way, and checked in with the adorable Japanese CM's. We waited about five minutes and were seated with the Frumpiest family EVER. The Mom was next to Dave, so they chatted and became friends. The Dad was pretty underwhelmed by life, but made some hilarious comments. And the son. OHHHH the son.

He was perfect.

He was Russell (from UP) come to life, let me tell ya.

He was SO excited about all the food. While our chef was cooking it all, he was basically jumping out of his seat. Of course, so was I, so it was totally fine. He kept going "YUMMY NOODLES AND YUMMY SHRIMP" and Jess and I were basically peeing ourselves.

It was priceless.

And to this day, we quote him. "YUMMY NOODLES. YUMMY SHRIMP!!!!" He was just too cute!!

Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. So, we were seating with this family and we ordered our drinks.

SHE'S AWAKE!
dsc03102fm.jpg

I ordered the Iced Green Tea, which is always so refreshing and delicious. YUM!

dsc03252z.jpg

We also received some hot towels, which is always a nice touch. I so appreciate those.

Pretty soon our chef, Mayo, came by to start cooking!

dsc03292j.jpg

It's always good to start with a Mickey Mouse in oil.

The famous Onion Volcano:
dsc03312yt.jpg

dsc03342c.jpg

So cute! Mayo was perfect! She was so sweet and made some great jokes. She took sesame seeds and poured them in a line and went, "Sesame seeds...sesame street!"

It was freaking adorable.

Okay, ladies and gents, I swear we were just taking a picture of the food on the grill, but Russell and his dad just happened to show up in it!

dsc03382r.jpg

LOOK. AT. THAT. FACE.

He's perfect.

I want to keep him pleaseeeee.

We can adopt him into the frump family! I think him and Norman Junior would get along very well.

The YUMMY NOODLES and veggies:
dsc03442i.jpg

Jess ordered the Ueno (chicken and shrimp) and I ordered the Asakusa (steak and shrimp) so we each also got some of this YUMMY SHRIMP:
dsc03452s.jpg

Ueno:
dsc03492q.jpg

I really liked this dish because even though I hit that food wall earlier, this wasn't completely weighing me down further. It was very flavorful but not too heavy! I loved it.

Asakusa:
dsc03502qg.jpg

YUM! Everything was so delicious! Everyone was given bowls of rice as well:
dsc0346mv.jpg

HIDDEN MICKEY IN THE SAUCE:
dsc03512l.jpg

I gobbled my food right up. I never feel overly full at this meal, which is great, because dessert was coming!

I ordered the Green Tea Pudding. I had heard a lot of great things about it here on the DIS, and I was eager to try it!
dsc0353hl.jpg

HOLY. WOW. This stuff is so good! I would say that it has the consistency of flan, almost, but it isn't overly sweet and is actually kind of refreshing! I LOVED it and I ate every last bite. Definitely one of the most unique and most delicious desserts at WDW, IMO.

Jess ordered another delicious dessert, the Chocolate Ginger Cake!
dsc03552te.jpg

This dessert is sooo good. I'd had it before at Teppan Edo. She loved it just as much as I did! It's chocolatey, light and just perfect.

This is definitely one of my faves! It has an interesting flavor because of the ginger, but I personally love it! The chocolate mousse combined with the cake part is HEAVENLY.

Everybody else had either ice cream or the cake. After we were finished, we paid using our DDP, and left. We were planning on walking over to DHS for Fantasmic! and Extra Magic Hours!

HERE WE GO.

Update #16: The One In Which We Work Off Everything We Just Ate

May 14th, 2012

We started to make our way out of World Showcase and through International Gateway.

dsc03642n.jpg

dsc03692a.jpg

The sunset was just lovely that evening.

Yeah and the following picture is NOT edited. That's how beautiful and vibrant it was.

dsc03742x.jpg

The YaCHt Club! So much love. It's the Frump resort!

ONLY 25 DAYS UNTIL I CHECK IN THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my God.

dsc03772qn.jpg

Crew shot!

dsc03782cn.jpg

We made our way along the Boardwalk...
dsc0402wk.jpg

YUM. I am OBSESSED with that Bakery. I think I've had almost everything they offer over the course of this past summer.

I was getting so excited to stay at the Boardwalk as we were walking! I got to stay there twice over the summer!

dsc04142u.jpg

To Hollywood!

The walk was taking longer than we expected, and we ended up having to book it to DHS to make it to Fantasmic! By the time we were in the park, we were speed-walking BIG TIME. And once we got to that (ten-mile) walkway to the theater, we were literally RUNNING.

Yeah we also thought that the show was starting at 8:30 pm, but it started at 8 o'clock. FRUMP DERP MOMENT!

We sprinted all the way and we ended up still getting seats in the third row, even though we got there a few minutes AFTER it started! SCORE.

dsc04192d.jpg

dsc04202tk.jpg

Tale as old as time...
dsc04212d.jpg

ARIEL!
dsc04322na.jpg

It's like World of Color...except not.
dsc04412em.jpg

And the best part of the show! The showboat! AKA the only place you will EVER see Megara.

Sadness.

dsc04472q.jpg

The best:
dsc04512p.jpg

"Some imagination, huh?"
dsc0455s.jpg

BIG FINALE!

We actually ended up being able to see Illuminations behind Fantasmic, so it was like two shows in one. SCORE!

After Fantasmic, we went to Rock N' Roller Coaster in the Single Rider line.

We were in line with some CM's in the pre-show, and they showed us that the door to the last leg of the queue actually opens manually, so we went straight through! So sneaky.

Once we all reconvened, we decided to go on Tower of Terror! Jess and I thought it would be fun to look at each other and look terrified for the ride picture, like so:
dsc0470he.jpg

And then something happened.

There was no need to "look" terrified. We were genuinely scared.

You see, it's totally dark and then the flash goes off for the picture.

We were staring at each other in the dark for the picture and the flash illuminated our faces.

Once the picture was over, it was completely dark again. So the white image of each other's faces were imprinted into our vision. WE LOOKED LIKE STRAIGHT UP GHOSTS! It was horrifying.

It definitely added a whole new twist to the Tower of Terror! However, I think that this would only work at night when your eyes are fully adjusted to the darkness. ONLY TRY IT IF YOU DARE. It is probably the creepiest thing EVER. Kristen's ghost face was in my line of sight for the rest of the ride.

I think Jess also ended up poking me in the eye or something, because it says that in my trip journal.

Yeah because I was freaking out and neither of us could see hahaha.

We're Frumps, no one's mad.

We decided to go for a much less traumatizing ride next, known as Toy Story Mania!

dsc04742q.jpg

dsc04852w.jpg

I just love the TSM queue.

dsc04862b.jpg

Now, if you all saw our video from August, you will already know that I love the crayons in the TSM queue, and that "I also like the orange one." We had to take a picture, of course.

photo3352.jpg

Our last order of business for EMH was the drawing class! Mike is obsessed with doing this.
