The Frickles Family Vacation: Every Mile a Memory; THE LAST MILE! CH 12 pg 20 6/20!

Ummmm, Chappie, I'm offended. You come to my trip report to harass LaLa and don't even say hello to the grand hostess of this ball? That is it buddy, you are getting a ham in your pm box. A ham with extra water.

I'm surprised that statement made it by the DIS filters.

That having been said, a very nice installment (any installment that works in a Brittney reference (in proper context, no less) is, by definition, a nice installment). There -- feel better?

Yes.

Now, I am glad you are here!!! Even if it is to harass LaLa!

I spared you the ham since you've redeemed yourself.

Looks like you guys had a great day. We are hoping for a little more pool time at the resort this stay
ohhhh I hope you get it! Our pool time was some of the best!

Ahhhh, the Disney buses. We feel the same way and try to drive whenever possible for the same reason!
Mr. Frick will never ever ride them again, so by gollies he better learn to navigate the World a little bit better the next go 'round!

Great installment Frick!
Why thank you sweet friend!

Marita said:
I am not sure that driving would be any faster, with having to takes trams and monorails, but whatever makes you happy
Actually, it is whatever makes Mr. Frick happy...so that we can go back again!!!!

Ash said:
IMO, by the time you drove, parked at the TTC, and took a boat or monorail, you wouldn't have gotten there much earlier....
Yeah, but what if I parked at the Contemp or the Poly.....hmmm? I could soooo valet park at the Poly again, let them lose my keys again, and demand a concierge MK view as payback. Actually, I should have a front row parking spot at the Poly for LIFE after last year's mishap.

I've been pulling for your dawgs!!!....not when they played BAMA of course!! I really wanted Tenn to lose the other night!!
SamC, I paid you back because I was pulling for your Elephants. I'm so sorry they lost to Auburn. I know that is a bitter pill to swallow.

I like Mr. Frick's hat.

I used to have one like it.

Until I peed on it. Set it on fire. Peed on it again. Then ran over it with my car 12 times

I'm sure the Yoo Hoo bottles were flying off the shelves somewhere in the Pacific Northwest.

I just know Mr. Frick will relax and love Disney even more before this adventure ends.
Girl, he didn't step foot on another bus...so you may be right!

If you get there for park opening, no tram because you're parked right up front, right?
You are asking the non morning person this question....someone else is going to have to step in and answer!!

Kimmie is right - very up front!
Oh wait, a morning person with a car just posted the answer! Thanks Yak!

Just giving you a bump...

I know you are probably doing one of the following...

Moving into your new home..
Christmas shopping...
Baking cookies....or hams
Or just taking a long winters nap.......

Happy Holidays to you and your family.

After having mounds of fun, we left the Magic Kingdom somewhere around 2:00 and it was mighty hot and we were wiped out. Mr. Frick was adamant about keeping himself off the Disney busses, so we listened to his ideal plan to get us back to the Beach Club. The boys were all for it because it involved a nice, long monorail ride to Epcot, so off to the monorail station we went.

Disney225-1.jpg

We really enjoyed our ride and we oooohed and aaahhhhed as we traveled over Epcot. I had talked Mr. Frick into trying to ride the bus from Epcot to the Beach Club. It just had to be a super short ride because the BC is pretty much in Epcot’s back pocket. He agreed to try it, so we drug ourselves from the monorail station to the bus station and began the search for our ride to the BC.

You bus experts out there probably know what I’m about to tell you. There isn’t a bus to the BC from Epcot. Wahhhhh!

We informed the boys we would have to walk through Epcot to get to our hotel room and a loud chorus of whines, mine being the loudest, broke out. Mr. Frick felt bad so he loaded up Lil Frick on his back with a promise to carry him half way and carry Stitch for the other half. No back ride for mommy. Lil Frick started pleading with us to go and ride Test Track. No one was really feeling the TT love at that time so we told him we needed to go and check out how comfortable the lounge chairs were at the pool. Our walk was serenaded with
“Why can’t we ride TT?”
“My legs hurt”
“I’m hot”
"Why didn't you get a stroller?"
“Can we have ice-cream?”
“Mommy carry me.”
“Daddy when is it my turn?”
“Why is it so hot?”
“How much farther?”
and
“You think this is better than the bus?”

Finally, for the first time ever, I spotted Club Cool. I mean I had heard about it, but have never been able to find it. We popped in for some free samples and I tortured my boys with the Beverly. Heh heh. We were thirsty, and we stood at the Coke machines for so long that I think we irritated some people. When we had consumed enough sugary goodness to be able to face the heat again, we finished our long journey to the hotel.

Mr. Frick & the boys headed down to the pool and I stayed behind to unpack.
I love to unpack and get settled at the hotel. It pained me that I didn't have time to do it the day before, so it sure did feel good to get our stuff sitchiated.

When I made it down to the pool, I saw that Mr. Frick had reunited his ear with his cell phone, he had discovered the poolside waitress and had ordered a cold one and the guys were off having fun in the most amazing pool ever. The boys were excited to tell me about how great the slide and the pool was. Yeah! The pool did not disappoint!

I went to find an inner tube for them to enjoy in Storm Along Bay and was shocked to find out I had to pay for it. Say wha? Well, I couldn’t stay at the BC and not let my boys have a tube, so I forked over the bucks and got them a double ride. Of course I had to test it out for safety purposes first. Lemme tell ya, the water is deep in that area. I went down the steps thinking I could touch and after the last step, I sank. So, there I was in the deep water trying to work myself up into my double tube. There is no way to do this, keep your bikini top on and look cool at the same time. I finally got settled and enjoyed a few laps before the boys found me.

When they kicked me out, I went to visit Hurricane Hannah’s to see what all the fuss was about. What a cute little place HH’s is! I got myself a nice little drinky drink and headed back to my lounge chair. By this time Mr. Frick had finished up his phone calls and we sat there and watched our boys have the time of their lives while we enjoyed some down time together. By this time, it was 4:00 and we had reservations to eat at Chefs de France for dinner at 5:30. This was an important ADR for us because Stitch had just started taking French lessons at school and he was itching to try some of his French skills out with the waiters and try some Crème Brule. We knew this was important to him, but we also knew that no one’s body was ready to leave that sweet pool.

I threw on a cover up and went inside to the Concierge counter and began the search for a later reservation for Chefs. We scored a reservation for 8:20 which seems crazy in the real world, but in Mickey Mouse land it seemed just perfect! I grabbed the boys a smoothie to hold off the hunger and got myself another drink or two to hold off the hunger for me as well.

The boys made friends and built sand castles and dams and played without fighting…..ahhhh good times.

Disney107.jpg

We had to tear ourselves away from the pool around 7:15 to go and get ready for dinner. We showered and dressed in record time and had a moment to pose for some pictures. We handed the camera to Lil Frick and he showed us that he still needs some practice.

We had a lovely stroll to France. Everyone was in a super good mood. We were rested, clean, a couple of us were a tiny bit liquored up and the weather was perfect. As we waited for our table, we enjoyed the Epcot atmosphere.

Disney250.jpg

It is just so beautiful there at night. We were seated at a great table near the window and we had a sweet waitress who took good care of us. Stitch clammed up and didn’t attempt speaking what little French he knew with her. We had fun with the kid’s menu, we had fabulous food and we had a great view of Illuminations from our seat. Now, if you recall, Lil Stitch had pouted & sulked through Illuminations the night before, so I asked him if he wanted to go outside with me to watch it. He jumped up and we headed out to a perfect spot in front of the restaurant to take it in. He loved it and he was all smiles and it made my heart happy. These are the moments… ahhh, I can’t quite describe it, but it was magical and it was something that I couldn’t have ever planned. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a funnel cake. ;-)

We returned to our table and enjoyed our meal tremendously. It was our favorite meal by far. Lil Frick fell asleep after he finished his French hamburger and Mr. Frick, Stitch and I stuffed ourselves. Everything in our little world was peaceful and happy.

The walk back to the BC was so pleasant. As we neared the beach, we saw a big screen t.v. set up by the water with several families kicked back in lounge chairs watching Finding Nemo. We found a couple of chairs, I made a visit to HH’s for Mr. Frick and I, and we all kicked back and watched the last twenty minutes of the movie. We had just missed making smores around the bon fire, but that was ok. It was a beautiful night and we had the best time hanging out on the beach. I had always thought that the perfect Disney trip involved spending every possible minute enjoying the rides, but that night I learned that isn’t necessarily true. We had more fun that night than I can tell you. Pardon me for ganking Sponge Bob, but it was truly the best day ever.

Hey there, Frick!

I'm a little behindish...not just on your report but on most all the TRs I'm reading. Sorry bout that. Great installments though!

And thanks for the okra! I love me some fried okra! Even as a kid I loved all veggies including beets, turnips, rhubarb, and cabbage among others that no self respecting kid would touch. But I really miss okra...because my kids won't eat it....sadly.

I loved the "morning" installment. All the lil frick-isms made me laugh like a fly's butt hair and the super clean Disney water on Splash. Heh. And BEHAVE on the people mover! Wouldja!

RE: the trip back to the BC....I feared the long hot walk back to the hotel....because I knew there was no bus. Sorry! But glad you got enough Beverly to sustain you.

And they're charging for the tubes at Stormalong Bay? Please!

RE: French....I took it in college and here's all you need to know....Je ne parle pas francais. Or alternately..... Parlez-vous anglais? You're welcome. ;)

Your day really does sound like the best day ever!

We love Chef's too. Our favourite place!

I'm glad you had such a wonderful day!

Love the ankle shot.
Very artsy.

Can't wait to read more.

Frick, I L O V E D this chapter! Gave me the warm fuzzies. Nothing like a nice relaxing afternoon and great dinner to deliver the magic in a big way. Glad you liked Chefs.....So, no butts in your face on this visit?? Bet that took a bit away from it, but I'm glad you had a nice time anyway :rotfl:

Those boys of yours are just precious. And I love the happy faces in those last couple of pictures!!! (Even though the pouty face from the previous night was pretty dang cute, too)

Hi Frick........that was a sweet chapter....love those moments when the family is all lovey and happy!!!.....your boys are so cute!.....Thanks for the cheers on iron-bowl day!!! :)

I'll be sure to pass the praise on to lil Frick. If you like that one, just wait till you see his gallery of ducks, ice-cubes in his coke, shots of us where it looks like he took them from the spinning tea cups, his nose hairs, his eyeball and my fanny. Oops, wait, I shall not be sharing the ones of my fanny.

For those of you who don't know, I had a lovely lunch with Ash & one of our poly loving friends at Chefs, and this cute little waiter kept sticking his butt in my face when he waited on the table beside us. I'm surprised he didn't walk away with a pat of butter on his fanny, he was THAT close!

Loved the pics!

I must ask (because I read your last TR, too) -- are you now 'spoiled' by the Beach Club? Aside from the monorail to BC walk, taking in the location and amazing pool, is there no way you can return to a moderate?

We love BC, too. The pool and location are the sincher for us.

Great installment!
